Alien426
I woulda pre-ordered in a split second, but there is no PC version. The only Amazon that has at least the XBox version seems to be .co.uk. Heh, .co.jp has a strategy guide... Comment by: Metallus | Posted 10:59, January 29, 2005 Heh, they're using the dummied-up cover made by Mixnmojo for the Games Database. Comment by: JBRAA | Posted 11:03, January 30, 2005 No I lifted the pre-cover from there. Comment by: Metallus | Posted 12:46, January 30, 2005 Oh my. Jake
There is a huge banner at the top of Mixnmojo now that includes a link to a PC version for preorder! (PS the huge link Met posted in the news update a couple days back also includes a PC pre order page).
Alien426
Pre-ordered! D'oh, I didn't click Metallus' big link. I would have preferred an Amazon over GameStop's 20 $ shipping price. But, hell, it's cheaper than PS2/XBox and I can still cancel it.
Joshi
I ususally don't like huge useless banner ads, but this ones different for the sheer matter that it will get hits and mojo aren't getting paid for it (right?), which is just weird. I won't order it yet because I don't like gamestop, so I'll wait until a shop ilike has it, like play.com
trOmme
Actually i'm planning to play Psychonauts on my PC. :compcry: Dose anyone know or can wonder about the minimum and recommended system requierment for this marvelous game ?
Tahnee
I'm still waiting for them to announce Psychonauts for the Mac. Yep. Just you wait. Any minute now. Yep. You betcha. *sits back and twiddles thumbs* Actually, what I'm really waiting for is for the system requirements to be announced and for my clunky old PC to finally kick the bucket so I can buy a newer one that'll play the game. Because I'm too lazy to go get an XBox or a PS2.
Metallus
For some reason I think this game would make a good port to GCN and Mac, speaking as someone who has never owned and rarely uses either of the previously mentioned platforms. Seems like GameCube and Apple tend to attract people who are into designey-innovatey things, plus Macs could always use more games. But again, I can't really back that up seeing as I don't own either. Also, Psychonauts on more platforms = more Psychonauts = Win. Thoughts? Remi
I don't know about the Mac, but I think the game easily could find a market on the Cube. Funky, bizarre games seem to sell well there - most Beyond Good & Evil owners I know are Cube people.
Udvarnoky
Indeed. The Cube needs this game.
Metallus
Well, I'm skeptical of what it's going to be like to play on any non-console format, but still...

Any Radeon 9800 (wich is kindda old ) and above will do the thing i guess... So go and buy. In fact I wanted people to guess, YEAH !!! With my p4 2.6 (wich i'm gonna change for a 3.06HT in upcoming weeks) and my 1Go ram I feel confident... The trouble is my Radeon 9500Pro 128... I'm not hoping to play the game at 60fps with a load of details... But i hope to play the game well... Actually i'm not having plenty of juice on POPWW (Prinse of persi... 2...) Alien426
You mean Prince Of Persia 5?! The need for hardware is usually overrated. I fully expect to play any game that's released in the next months to be reasonably playable on my P4 2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM and ATI 9800 Pro. Bought the PC in a supermarket and just upgraded the RAM and graphics (+ HD). Far Cry, Doom 3, Half-Life 2 made no problems, why should Psychonauts? I think I played them in 1024x768. Just checked: yes, true for Far Cry and H-L 2, Doom 3 wants the CD.

The giant eye goes above you and then I get hit!) I'm gonna be playing it on my computer and hopefully, it won't take up too many specs as my computer game out in november so it's getting on in... months. Bah, people still think it's a good idea to release games that don't work on computers that came out yesterday, but I've got a feeling the schafer will be different, I don't know why, i just have a feeling he'll want a lot of people to be able to play his game. Oh, and I see no reason to buy an X-box to play it, a friend of mine bought an x-box for the soul reason of playing Halo-2 (seriously overrated) and he hasn't bought another game for it, there are simply no good games for the X-box (of course psychonauts will change that, but still). I'm just gonna stick with the good ole PC and if i have to run it on limited graphics.
Udvarnoky
Until a Cube port ever comes out, it's PC for me. Just gotta buy a used Xbox controller and one of those USB adapters.
Jake
It would have to be a 2 disc game on the cube probably... or everything would have to be compressed a lot and bad looking. If the game does well on the PC Aspyr will probably do a Mac port, but it would have to be a pretty big success first. Aspyr ports lots of stuff though (erm, and are publishing Stubbs the Zombie! in an unrelated tangent). (and no, I made and put up that banner out of the goodness of my heart, no money is being earned on it... except by eb, gamestop, and majesco of course)
Udvarnoky
Hell, I don't care how many discs it is. Though I suppose Majesco would.
