Jeff
Is anybody else here a fan? I've been listening to him since I was in 6th grade (5 years) and I love his stuff. Funniest stuff you'll ever hear. I even got lucky enough to attent his concert twice here in michigan ('03 and '04). So, what do you all think of him, and who is bigger fan than me (well probably nobody)? Aash Li
*fan girls* Ive loved Wierd Al since the 80s (dont that make me sound really old? lol) His whacky sense of humour and silly song parodies are right up my alley as they say. hehe. Ive got a few of his songs on my hard drive. Like a Surgeon Amish Paradise ( <3 ) Ugly Girl Girls Just Want to Have Lunch Eat It Dare to be Stupid (<3 ) She Drives Like Crazy Livin La Vida Yoda - I dont like this one so much, but its still cute. Clone Ive probly heard most of his well known songs aleast 5 or 6 times hehe.

You don't like it as much because Al didn't make that one. Unfortunately, there are a lot of song parodies floating around the Internet being attributed to Al which are in fact done by somebody else. "Star Wars Cantina," "Windows 95 Sucks," "Living La Vida Yoda," "Combo No. 5," "What If God Smoked Cannabis," "He Got The Wrong Foot Amputated" (the list goes on and on... some of the titles are unprintable in a family-friendly web site) - these songs are NOT by Al. If you want to verify whether or not a song is actually by Al, check the Catalogue page. Source: Weird Al.com FAQ

I'm no good at knowing whether people are being serious, funny, etc. on the internet I thought you were saying you were and then the "..." was to say that... Nevermind. I'm glad you and others like Weird Al.
MdKnightR
I've been listening to Weird Al since his first album! Great songs like "My Bologna" and "Mr. Frump in his Iron Lung" are classics! Some of his more recent stuff is great too. I particularly liked his "Running with Scissors" album.
Jae Onasi
Heh, one of the disadvantages of telling people to use the 'search forums' feature before posting a new thread is that sometimes they find old ones to resurrect. This one came and went before I joined, but I love his music too much to pass the thread by. His "Yoda" song hooked me. I rolled laughing over "Amish Paradise" and "Eat It". I remember when "Another Rides the Bus" came out, if you want to talk about showing age. If you like him, you'll probably like Heywood Banks, though he may be more regional--Jimbo and I heard him a lot when I was at school at Ohio State, but we haven't heard anything from him here in WI or when we lived in KS. He doesn't do the parodies like Weird Al, but they're just as silly. I like the Dust Mite song, and the first time I heard "Fly's Eyes" I rolled laughing. We sang it for our kids on our (11 hour) drive home from vacation yesterday and had them howling laughing.
Rogue Nine
Stephen Lynch is better, but not quite suitable for listening around parental figures, so that's where Weird Al comes in. He's got some great parody songs, though I wish he'd do some more original work.
Jae Onasi
I _am_ a parental figure. I love satire, so if it's well done I don't mind if it's edgy, unless the f-bomb is dropped so many times that it destroys the piece or it's blatantly pornographic. I just have to have a rating/read the lyrics so I know whether it's something I can play in front of my kids or if I have to go find the headphones. Actually Al has a new album done I think and it should be released soon. There's a free song download at his site, http://www.weirdal.com. It's a parody of a song I know from hearing my mom listen to the radio but I can't put my finger on it.
