I started this post because of the one raging over that nasty drink known as coffee. I know that beer causes a similar discussion. What is your opinion about beer? Do you hate it, like it, or consider yourself a connoisseur?

Personally, I consider myself a connoisseur. Dark beers are best. The best is undoubtedly Guinness Extra Stout! :guiness:

Opinions?

A) Abita Turbodog

B) Abita Amber

C) Becks' (anything they make...yum)

D) Bass Pale Ale

E) Michelob Amber Bock

I choose "F" all the above (in that particular order) :D

In fact, I'm enjoying an "A)" as we speak..err type ;)

As far as opinions go, common sense... don't go out and get all 'stupid' on the stuff. Drink it slow, in moderation, and enjoy it with a group of friends, some good music, some good food and maybe a billiards game or two and call it a good time :)

I gone thru several beers in my lifetime. Started with Bud, went to Moosehead, then Pabst Blue Ribbon, foster's, Heineken, Miller, St.Paulie girl, (this is in order by the way), Franziskaner, poppy jasper, Molson, Guiness, back to heineken, now I drink Bud lite. This is over a period of 19 years. This does not include samplers and the beers mentioned were drank for at least a period of 3 months or more before moving on.

Beer seems to be a mostly guy-drink I think... I dont really care for beer, Id rather drink the harder stuff like vodka, whiskey, schnapps (ok so thats not really hard), and the occasional mixed-drinks like fuzzy-navel or sex-on-the-beach. :)

I like that hard cider, with the gopher on the can... or it might be a beaver.

But, as for beer, I tortured my cousin with Guiness on his first time out drinking... curiously, hes not much for drinking anymore... wonder why...

Oh and Baileys!! I love that stuff, but its so damn expensive!! >_<

Pabst! BLAH! NASTY! :barf:

One has to wonder how you could drink Guinness for a period of at least 3 months and be able to drink that watered down excuse for a beer known as Bud Light. I was thinking about Bud (all brands thereof) when I listed the last option on the poll above. Let me know when you come to your senses, then we will go grab a cold one sometime.

I like harder stuff as well. I was on a Captain Morgan kick for a while. As for schnapps not being hard, I guess you haven't had Ice 101 Peppermint Schnapps. 101 proof breath freshener! WOW! Ever hear of a tornado? It is half a shot of Ice 101, then slowly fill the rest of the shot glass with Jagermeister. It spirals like a tornado. A few of those and you are gone! But I agree with ChaiNz. You should drink in moderation. I learned that the hard way!

I HATE beer I'll stick to wine and Baileys.

as for wine not the stuff ya go to the super market to get either most of that is fruit juice with a bite I like the old world wines the best or some of the well known brands NOT arbor mist

but I have about 1 glass of wine in a 2 week span, I'm one 21 year old that hasn't ever got drunk not even on my birthday never drank in highschool either :) so I really don't drink much at all :)

I enjoy beer, but I drink only the stuff my dad brews (I'm to young to buy any dammit) Hey canadian beer isn't on the poll, are you drunk?

Do Canadians even know what beer is? J/K ;)

I was just trying to pick the countries most known for their beer. Canada is more renown for its whiskey. I happen to like Crown Royal, among others.

well, i find it hard enough to stay awake without drinking something that's gonna keep me awake, much less chug down something that's gonna put me out for hours on end.

well, that and i am underage at the moment.

for now, i think i'll just stick with coffee. :D

Most of my favorite beers come from the USA: Deschuetes Brewery, New Belgium Brewing Company, Sam Adams Brewing, Rogue Brewery, Sierra Nevada, and Pyramid. I generally prefer lagers, ales.

@stingerhs: here's one for you. This brewery is located about 3 hours from me, but I remember when it was located only 10 miles away...

Guiness for me. American beer is like water. Canadian beer is in between...

Unfortunately most of the world thinks of Budweiser when they think of American beer. And I would certainly agree with you. However here in the northwest U.S. there is abundance of microbreweries (and, for stingerhs, independent coffee roasters). Prime if you come by Oregon, I'll buy you a pint of some Shakespeare Stout in an effort to mend the poor reputation of USA beers. ;)
