Whoa. Okay, just got another one to add.

Worst--Nightwatch.

My wife's been on and on about this movie for a while now, and yesterday a friend of hers burnt her a DVD. This movie sucks more than a dozen underage Filipino hookers when an American aircraft carrier docks.

One night while watching the "Saturday Night Double Feature" I saw that they were scheduled to show a movie called "Highway to Hell", expecting a dumb horror movie and not having anything better to do I watched it, turned out to be a very funny movie. Low budget but great

I don't know what you people think, but Starship Troopers is also a good SF action movie.

On the other hand, an extremely stupid movie would be Tomb Raider (the first part).

Starship Troopers was an OK movie, but it can't hold a candle to the original book by Robert Heinlein. They changed the whole story for the movie.

Personally, I'd have like to seen the jump suits and trooper distribution from orbit that Heinlein wrote about. I figure it would be similar to that story Canderous told Revan about in KotOR. Carmen was very hot though. I certainly didn't mind looking at Denise Richards, who does?

Fight Club Now there's a film I'd have to show students if I were a college professor of psychology. Talk about schizophrenia...

Jae, nice list. I forgot about MASH, One Flew Over the Cucoo's Nest, Dead Poet's, and Casablanca. Shame on me. Definately favs of mine. Goodwill Hunting was awesome, and Yes, Birdcage was hilarious. I wasn't expecting it to be that funny.

Worst: Robo-cop II, Jaws3, or Killer Clowns form outer space. Take your pick.

Has anybody seen Malcom X?

I watched part one so far. It's quite an interesting movie. What do you think of it?

It's on my 'to watch' list, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I did a senior thesis paper on MLK Jr.'s professional relationship with LBJ, and studying the LBJ papers at his library in Austin, TX, you pick up some of LBJ's thoughts about Malcolm X (the few he did make, because he absolutely refused to deal with anyone in the Civil Rights movement that condoned violence, are not repeatable here). I'm somewhat familiar with Malcolm X's work and wanted to see how the movie treated him.

Most of my movie watching right now happens while the kids are still up, so we have to choose the rated G/PG stuff.

@Darth Manus--I totally forgot about Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Talk about campy.

@Cygnus--Dead Poets Society is probably one of the contributing factors to me burning the candles at both ends and down the middle and treasuring the little things in life. :) If you only get one time to live, 'suck the marrow out of life.'

Sometimes this means doing something big, like climbing the 91 steep stairs on El Castillo temple at Chichen Itza in Mexico even with a bad knee to see the fabulous view of the Yucatan peninsula. The view is worth the climb (and rather disconcerting descent)--because the Yucatan is so flat, you can see miles and miles in every direction. We got some unbelievable pictures.

Sometimes it means doing something as simple as watching "Wonderpets" with my daughter and singing the "The Phone is Ringing" song with her even though the show is unbelievably inane, because at some point during the show she'll come and cuddle, which is something she probably won't do once she grows older. :)

Yes, many times. It's Spike's best work, if you ask me. Denzel should've gotten the oscar for Malcolm X before Training Day, even though Training Day was really good. There were a few parts of Malcom's life that were missing and I feel they were monumentous in the foundation of his character.

One, Spike never really touched on the importance of Malcom's experiences when he traveled to Africa and the middle east. Events happened there to him that changed his outlook thus his character and ultimately his demise.

Two, Spike, for whatever reason decided to ignore his affiliation and friendship with fellow muslim and heavyweight champ, Mohammad Ali. This is significant because they were very close and it'd be hard to tell one's story without telling the other's. Of course, the movie would then be six hours long.

Does anyone remember the "Trilogy of Terror" ? Karen Black, If I remember correctly.

...that little voodoo doll that comes to life. Creepy.

OK, here's a movie I can't quite place in good, or bad, so I'll place it in weird and you decide if it's good weird, or bad weird.

I'm talking about the ''Invasion of the body-snatchers'', starring Donald Sutherland, old movie, sort of an SF Horror.

I thought starship troopers was kind of dumb. It had some of the worst military tactics I've ever seen. They just drop off a couple thousand marines armed with machine guns onto an alien planet, who despite undergoing an intense and arduous boot camp, can't seem to prevent being killed for more than 30 seconds. Tomb Raider sucked too.

Now, a very good movie would be Return of the Jedi. Along with the Godfather II, it's one of the few movies where the sequel is better than the original.

The worst movie (and I know I will get bombarded with hate mail for saying it) is Napoleon Dynamite.

That movie was funny the first time I watched it. However, the second time was just painful. It felt like all the cells in my body were dieing because it was so stupid, lol.

A bit off topic- Someone could tell me the name of comedy, in which Dave Chappelle (is it his real name?) Was a guy who was on weed since fifth grade, than his friend got stuck in prison and they had to start dealing weed to get him out before he gets raped?

It was called Half Baked. Hilarious.

Wait, how old are you? That movie has questionable subject matter.

Don't let Jae catch you watching that. :yoda3

Not that I care who'll be in it, but this means yet another sign that the apocalypse is nigh. They're making another Dukes of Hazzard movie. Audiences all over the world are losing the will to live. :hor::hang1:
