Who uses the Firefox browser by Mozilla and whats your take on it?

I just downloaded it and installed but haven't had the chance to use it yet and was just wondering if it is any good... and how does it compare to IE...

Edit: typo in title, hehe :D<-- fixed ;) ChAiNz.2da

Firefox rules.

Themes, extensions, customizable "everything", security and tabbed browsing makes this a power-house of a web browser.

Also, since Firefox actually uses Internet Standards... unlike IE, things work as they should rather than depending on crap proprietary code and hack workarounds to get things to work right.... ;)

However, be sure to install the Firefox version plug-ins as some work a little differently than ones developed for other browsers.

i think i could get used to using this browser... from what little i've seen so far, i likey... :D

I use firefox, as I like its customisability amd tabbed browsing... it does have little downsides, like some online bank sites I use dont like FF at al :( I just use ie for them. I will check out ie7 when it comes out tho, just to see if those chumps at MS have been listening to what users want...

I would like the two misguided (teasing) IE likers to explain just why they like it. Just saying IE is better because thats your opinion really doesnt tell us anything. Saying something like that, with no explanation makes you sound contrary for contrary's sake.

I like Firefox because it rarely and I do mean *rarely* ever crashes, unlike other browsers, Opera and IE for example. The tabbed browser is really nice, themes, extensions, customizability. And you dont have to worry about security threats as much as you do with IE, plus you dont have to download patches every other day. heh. The one downside that i can think of is that some places either refuse to make their sites compatible with anything but IE, or they havent yet done the work.

yes, but how much ram and diskspace does IE suck up? *loads* Ill take Firefox any day. The download manager could use a little work I agree... but it does have the restart function, which does work if the site youre downloaduing from, supports resuming downloads.

FireFox is cool, but it sucks up RAM. And the DL manager cuts off if your internet cuts off... stupid. Why can't they have the pause function be like other DL managers?

yeah, being on crappy 56k means I need a good DL manager. Basically, the one in FF is crap. However, there is now a FF extension called "Flashgot" which will allow you to incorporate FF with the better DL managers. I use getright with it and it works just great :) Highly recommended for people who use DL managers frequently.

There is a getright extension for FF. The last time I needed a download manager (when I was on 56k), I think the browser version was 1.4? And the getright extension was working with that version as well. I think I still have the extension for it... if anyone needs it. Getright is alot better than Flashgot.

When I first got my PC on the net I had Firefox and IE. I hadn’t used FF ever, so I tried IE first.

Crashed: Twice

Speed: It too ka bout 7 seconds to load each page.

I got disgusted, and tried out Firefox. It ran without a hitch. Snappy loading, and no crashes. So, yeah. I'm going to have to go with Firefox on this one.

Edit: Whoops, it was a 5 year old version of explorer. Ah..yeah. Well, I still like Firefox better :p.

Not the best web browser ever created, but it is definitely one of the best multi-OS browsers.

Opinions are wonderful. :p What do you consider the best browser, if not FF?
