Fealiks
they should make a spoof series where a few jedi make a time machine and go forward loads, then hop galaxies and land on earth.... red dwarf style.... ok.. i didnt think that through... I just hope that if one comes out, it is half as good as Lost
Astrotoy7
OK. Ive merged the existing TV series thread and stuck them. As news starts to come out about the series, It'd be easiest for all relevant discussion to be contained to this thread mtfbwya
Nedak
They should make a T.V series of everything that happend between III and IV . Or it would be cool if it was after ROTJ but I don't think they will do that.

forcefx
Mark Hamill has aged VERY poorly, I doubt that anyone will put him in their movies. It's kind of wierd, I know Carie Fisher did drugs and thats why she looks and sounds like she does now, but what about Mark? Yeah Mark Hamill looks older then god now,he wont be on the show. MachineCult
Lucas has said that none of the main characters will be in the series. It will revolve around the really minor characters from the films, and undoubtedly will have mostly new characters.

Astrotoy7
I did read previous posts. I said it again because people were talking about Luke and Lando being in it. Who were these people ? Are they associated with project or Lucasfilm ?? These are FACTS: *Its set between EpIII and IV.... *It will focus on new characters Whether Luke or Lando may appear or be mentioned is mere FANBOY SPECULATION.... (and yes, this too has been mentioned much earlier in this thread) Scripts havent even been written, so unless these "people" you refer to are time travellers, I suggest you only listen to the known facts mtfbwya
MachineCult
I meant people on this thread were talking about Lando and Luke!? and I obviously know those facts because I repeated them because of all the Mark Hamill talk. **Misunderstanding Alert**

Jeff
Here's a new article from IGN had a few days ago: Star Wars TV Series News
Astrotoy7
Nice work Moels I like Lucas' comments about the days of 100 million dollar movies slowly being a thing of the past. I like that, as it would give more talented film makers a chance to get their work up, rather than relying on approval based studios, whose chief focus in $$$. I's funny though, GL has had a lot to do with the advent and advocacy with digital film making, but to get there he needed the $$$ he generated from his 100 million dollar movies !!! He's noted this himself, in interview on the special features discs - saying he;s vecome the very thing he was always fighting not to be !! ah, the ironies of life mtfbwya

Astrotoy7
nice work eastcost, thats report is March 14 so it was only put up today : here's a snippet, a quote from Rick McCallum: "First up, the Stars Wars TV series that we’ve been hearing about since Sith came out. “That’s not going to happen probably for another year and a half while we develop scripts and everything else. But it’s fantastic; we’ve got some incredible writers. It’s going to be much darker, much more character-based, and I think it’s going to be everything the fans always wanted the prequels to be. They’ll be one-hour episode. It takes place between Episodes III and IV. It’s going to be all-new characters, maybe a few bounty hunters in there to start the series off." *Darker and Character driven = awesome mtfbwya
Ecthelion
It’s going to be all-new characters, maybe a few bounty hunters in there to start the series off. Fine, as long as they don't make them have nine lives. The first two seasons of the Clone Wars were great, but after reading that Asajj Ventress and Durge somehow survived their deaths (although Asajj's was ambiguous, I'll admit), I'm not so sure introducing new enemies and bounty hunters is a good idea. True, the cartoons didn't have anything to do with this (I think it was comics), but it's still silly. Doesn't anyone stay dead in Star Wars anymore? What's next, they somehow resurrected Jango Fett or Dooku after giving them new heads? /rant Anyway, I'm looking forward to the TV series as well as the new episodes of the Clone Wars. Although they've said the TV series will have all-new characters, it would be awesome to see a cameo from established characters. I'd rather there be no TV series because I don't want Star Wars turned into Star Trek. The Star Wars TV series will have a long way to go before it gets Star Trek's TV "legacy" - after all, Star Trek managed to squeeze out 3 series and 17 seasons of good TV before it got crappy. MachineCult
Who else here really wants it to have Quinlan Vos in it?
Commander Obi-Wan
I wouldn't mind him in it. Though, depends on the time frame of the show, and if he fits in that time zone.
Astrotoy7
Vos is too much EU to feature in anything more than a cameo role. I think people need to get over their fanboy fantasies of having their fave EU characters feature in the show. When MacCallum mentions "bounty hunters" and "familiar characters" we should think of Fett and the Bounty Hunters that appeared in ESB. mtfbwya
Kurgan
. It’s going to be much darker, much more character-based, and I think it’s going to be everything the fans always wanted the prequels to be. So McCallum is admitting the fans didn't get what they wanted with the prequels? Wow. So I guess we'll be getting lots of female nudity and gruesome deaths for Jar Jar I take it? Heh... Appealing to fanboy fantasies could be a disaster though, look at how it has wrecked havoc on the EU... It's going to be the Howard Stern show, starring Yoda and Chewie with recurring guests Boba Fett, Darth Maul and various Twi'Lek porn stars. Or maybe the Jerry Springer show, Star Wars style... yikes (I think Ian McDiarmond would make a good host). Maybe a "Crocodile Hunter" type show featuring Super Shadow and his giant sqwaking lizard pet. To a dark place this line of thinking will take us...! Alkonium
If this thing about the series being what the fans wanted the Prequels to be, does this mean Boba Fett kills Mace Windu although he was already killed by Palpatine?
Astrotoy7
lolz... I think you are all letting your imaginations get the better of you I think McCallum is talking about *Jedi Purge - start of this was scaled down in ROTS *Birth of the Rebellion (the prelude of which was cut from ROTS) GL wanted the PT to focus on *Anakin* so alot of stuff that would've been cool was cut out. Thats why these series are being made IMO : More great Clone Wars action in the CGI and More Rise of the Empire/Jedi Purge/Rebellion Stuff for the live action series. mtfbwya
Ecthelion
It's going to be the Howard Stern show, starring Yoda and Chewie with recurring guests Boba Fett, Darth Maul and various Twi'Lek porn stars. While I don't think most fans would have a problem with Twi'Lek porn stars (although they wouldn't be able to show anything on TV), I think Astrotoy7 hit the nail on the head. And although I agree that Vos would probably not appear in anything more than a cameo role (and that assumes that Lucas has made it canon that Vos is still alive), I think we are definitely going to have a Jedi-in-hiding or two. After all, what is Star Wars without lightsabers?
Darth_Terros
(and that assumes that Lucas has made it canon that Vos is still alive), Its canon read the last three republic comics.
Kurgan
I'm also bracing myself for all the newbies that are going to post here thinking that SuperShadow is a reliable source of information about Star Wars. At least I know that in this community they'll be "well educated" on this matter.
