It annoys me too. I don't really "hate it", but it's just a pet peeve. Especially if I accidentally misspell a word, and I don't notice until some long expanse of time afterwards. Arrgh! Fortunately, Word loads quickly on my computer...

Punctuation is a bit peeving too. Like, the lack of commas. I can understand if the poster doesn’t know English as a first language, or something along those lines, but when I see “i don’t use punctuation and stuff becuz im too lazy” it sets me off (though, to be fair, we all make mistakes, so it's hardly something to dwell on ;)).

bad grammar, spelling and punctuation get my panties in a bunch. typos are one thing; butchering the english language is another. yes, i am too lazy most of the time to capitalize.

It annoys me. Like using more than one exclamation mark (particularly in something serious, like a book, seeing "It was really quite a site!!!!!", or something...gnaws at me.)

Oh the whole typing in text really annoys me soooooo much, but if someone types and its spelling it doesn't as its just a human erro and i get annoyed when people like quote it and are like oh you can't spell that annoys me.

The really annoying thin imho is when people type long unsayable sentences like this and you're like omg thats soooo annoying cos it is like sooooo irritating, and they put in like no grammar so it looks like they must have massive lungs that is really annoying imho.

:xp:

Sorry, but I couldn't resist :p

I despise it when people don't even try. They excuse their retardation with some nonsensical bull**** like "omg but it r teh intrenetz!!!!11!11!1!!1!1LOLOLOLOL!!1!1!"

This is a forum, the whole point is communication, you can't communicate if you type like you're getting beat in the head with a keyboard.

I don't spell and type English so well. :/ I guess that makes me hated and annoying.

Nah, you're hated because you bring up the weirdest **** to bitch about for no reason. Porn, morals, etc.

Kid, get to high school and take a proper English class and enjoy the grammatical aspect of it and then you can come back and start this topic again. First off, grammar does not just encompass spelling and punctuation, but diction and syntax as well, two things which you demonstrate a clear lack of at times. Diction is how well you choose your words and use them. Syntax defines the rules of proper sentence structure. It's one thing to spell every word correctly, it's another to have clear, concise sentences that display good word usage. If you're really all that bothered with bad grammar, then you'll take care to make sure that everything to write, type or say is completely grammatically sound which, judging from your posts here, demonstrates that you're not as bothered as you say you are. At your age, I think you're just trying to sound sophisticated and smart, just to impress your peers here. So please, do us all a favor and do well in your English class. I admire your desire for proper spelling and punctuation; heaven knows there's a dearth of that kind of attitude online. You just need to practice what you preach.

True, the whole point of forums is communication - but that also means strict grammatical rules don't necessarily have to be adhered to. The odd 'omg' or other text-speak, or missed apostrophe, is hardly going to put me off reading the post; it's only when it's overused and the post is unreadable that I get pissed off. Writing a post as if you were writing an essay is not really necessary. All that matters is that the post allows others to easily understand what you're saying.

I definitely hate |337 5p33ch, and I hate it when people type lk tey cnt spl wrth a dm when really it's not hard to spell simple words correctly. The only excuse people really have is that English isn't their first language like someone pointed out.

And Ive got to agree with Niner on this one ;)

True. But as far as I'm concerned, all of the people's posts I've seen so far are dictated good enough for me to understand them. And if I can understand them, then I'm pretty sure that it's especially not a trobule at all to you.

He isn't trying to create an Anti-Bad grammar writing people club, if that's what you are thinking that he is trying to do.

You just need to practice what you preach.

He wasn't preaching, he was discussing. Watch carefully...

Graagh. Occasional type-os are one thing. I'll even agree that 1337 has its place in rare circumstances (see below). I also have high tolerance for people who have english as a second language or who have dyslexia (or the like). You can usually tell characteristic errors in both of these cases.

However, some people just sux0rz (see -- some things are so bad, they can only be described in 1337).

I still haven't figured out if "realisted combat" is an FPS term I've never heard of (I hate the FPS, so that's my best bet) or just bad spelling for 'realistic'. Maybe someone could clue me in? Look (here or here).

YES!

I hate it when people speak in run-on sentences, don't use proper punctuation, make stupid spelling mistakes, or use that stupid 1337 internet "speech". It's just a sign of how lazy the human race is becoming.
