nas77
Had another one of those conversations the other day about cartoons we used to watch as kids (you know the ones). Anyway, I remembered really being into this one show but I can't remember what it's called and no-one seemed to know what I was talking about. I don't think it was that big. What I remember is that it was set in a city full of cat humanoid types; two of them were mechanics, one fat and one thin, who by night fought crime with this really cool black jet fighter, or somesuch. There was a token female news reporter and an overweight police chief or something. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Can't remember exactly when it was on, early 90s probably. I don't think I dreamt this one (And for God's sake, don't someone say 'Thundercats' )
Vladimir-Vlada
I know it's Thunderca... Just kidding. I remember that show when I was a child also. It's called SWAT Cats as far as I recall.
Bob Lion54
Hum, I think I remember this show, since Vlad said the name. A quick google found the official site. Is this what you are thinking of? http://www.swatkats.com/
nas77
Yeah that's the one, thanks guys. Checked out that site; seems they only did two seasons, which is why I guess most people don't remember it. Still, it gave me a small flashback of when I was 10 years old. Cygnus Q'ol
Does anyone remember an old British cartoon by the name of Dangermouse? If so, where can I find copies of them? I need them!!! It has got to be one of the most hysterical cartoon series I've ever seen. They use to run it on Nickelodeon forever ago. He was a superhero who lived in a phonebooth and had a mole sidekick named 'Penfold' who drove a flying car. Must be at least fifteen years ago. Where's the Doctor when you need one? Doc, can you hear me?
Jae Onasi
Oh, I loved Dangermouse! A bunch of us friends used to get together and go over to one of college lounges to hang out and watch it, and then play D&D or Car Wars. We watched Scooby, Bugs, Flintstones, etc. when growing up, but I also liked "Emergency+4" (go figure that I'd like a cartoon about paramedics), Land of the Lost (not a cartoon, but it was Saturday morning fare) and Battle of the Planets. The Tick is probably the campiest, though.

Stargazer? I remember when cartoons ran for hours on Saturday morning on CBS/ABC. The Bugs Bunny and Tweety show rocked. Ah... Tv will never be the same. Jeff
Definitely the best old cartoon series was Batman. You know the one I mean...
Sabretooth
HOWLY ****! That's Swat Kats! That was the uberest show there was on TV in my time. Man, I remember I was eight. I would return from school, have my lunch and watch Cartoon Network, at the Action Zone. They would show the Centurions, another show I don't remember to well, Swat Kats (which was my all-time favourite) and dumb old Captain Planet. Man, that jet fighter was a wet dream, gotta love it. But it all got screwed up when they converted all those channels in all-time ****ing Hindi, without a choice. Bad lip-shynching, poor voice substitution and just plain ~snip~ is ruining the channels and they don't even know it. Keep the deragatory terms to a different forum. You've been warned ~ ChAiNz.2da Yeah, sorry bout that. I just lost my mind. I'm touchy on these things. Won't do it again. ~ Sabretooth
Jae Onasi
Smurfs: See Jae Force Choking all of them, because she's afraid that if she Force Lightninged them, they'd all blow up in a nasty blue goo and sully her hands.

Gah!! Current favorites: Kim Possible and the Larry Boy videos from Veggie Tales. My son thinks it's really cool that his parents watch it with him. He doesn't know that we're (not so) closet fans. RedHawke
I can't remember the name of the show, but it had a battleship flying in space. Stargazer? Space Battleship Yamato actually, though like quite a few imported shows the names change so over here it was called StarBlazers... DangerMouse kicked some serious butt, I loved Penfold a card carrying member of the Cowards Congress... I also liked Rocky and Bullwinkle and the Pink Panther as well. Animaniacs and Tiny Toons was also quite good... I also loved many of the ones that have already been mentioned.

If my family had had a VCR at that point, I would have taped every episode I could, but that's before they had come down in price enough for us to afford one. I'll have to see where I can find DVDs now so I can ah, purchase them for my kids, yeah.... The fact that I would be eagerly watching the shows with them is irrelevent. Isn't that the real reason parents buy cool toys/movies for their kids--so they can watch them or play with them first as they put them together for the kids? Edit--gotta love online book/movie stores--you can get Battle of the Planets on DVD--about 38 episodes or so altogether. I'm in heaven. It's the little things in life. Now I have to explain to Jimbo why there's going to be a big fat box from amazon sitting on our doorstep....
REDJOHNNYMIKE
Don't remember the names of too many, pretty much just looney tunes and whatever else I could find when I visited relatives and friends. Cygnus Q'ol
Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer, he's a demon on wheels... (permanently imprinted in my long term memory banks) Johnny Quest, and any of the classic Hanna-Barberra productions. Here's one for you ancients, The Hair Bear Bunch. (shakes head as he remembers having a Hair Bear Bunch lunchbox in kindergarden) ...how much is that gorilla in the window?
