Well I've only played KOTOR and TSL for PC and number 1 for me is KOTOR. The only other games I've played are on the XBox and my personal favorite is, don't laugh, Star Wars Legoes. I liked it so much I'm thinking of getting it for PC. Oh I do have and Indiana Jones game but I haven't played it long enough to know if I like it or not.

Actually, I just wanted to know what other game is just as good as KOTOR I and II. I'm planning on buying another game but I don't want to waste my money. (Games are harshly expensive sometimes) Guildwars looks pretty good. Has anyone played that?

How about:

Tom Clancey's: Rainbow Six: Raven's Sheild/Athena's Sword.

They are not RPGs, but they will fill your apetite to kill off terrorists.

or:

Vampire the Masqurade: Bloodines.

Many of the developers now work for Obsidian Ent., but they didn't work on KotOR II.

well, i can name off a couple of games off the top of my head:

for multiplayer only: Battlefield 2 and the expansion is just fantastic, especially with voice-chat enabled as it really immerses you into the combat.

for single-player action: Half Life 2, F.E.A.R., Chronicles of Riddick, Doom 3, SW: Republic Commando, and Quake 4 all have top-notch gameplay that's relatively easy to get into.

for RPG's: can't really recommend much outside of the Kotor series other than Fable: Lost Chapters, but that's just because i haven't played many PC RPG's other than those.

for RTS: Rome: Total War and the Barbarian Invasion Ex. Pak are fantastic games and offer a superior experience that melds real-time tactical combat with turn-based strategy. Star Wars: Empire at War is another fantastic RTS, and its a bit easier to get into since you don't have to worry quite so much about tactics in the combat.

hope that helps. :)

You have got to be kidding me.

I suggest Deus Ex. You'll hardly waste 10 dollars on it, but you will have to experience of a life time. Max Payne (any number) is a good choice also. Star Trek: Elite Force (Voyager or 2) are very good when it comes to FPSs. Homeworld (1 is better than 2) is one of the best space strategies that I have ever had a chance to play.

That's it for now.

what's wrong with those games?? several of those that i mentioned recieved multiple Game of the Year awards, so its not just my opinion that was taken into account.

i'm not saying anything is wrong with Deus Ex, but it is quite a bit older than the games i mentioned. and if you do want to argue price, then you'll find it difficult to argue with $15 for 'The Chronicles of Riddick'.

Star Trek: Elite Force (Voyager or 2) are very good when it comes to FPSs.
IMHO, both of those games were really just average whenever it comes to the FPS genre. there wasn't anything particularly innovative or noteworthy about those two games other than they were Star Trek games.

I only said that about Doom 3. The others are good.

Now that I think about it, you're right.

Battlefield 2 is a great fps, empire at war is a great strategy and even greater if you like star wars. And theses games is maybe old but still fun like hell, fallout2 and planescape:torment. And i have tryed Guild wars but didnt like it.

actually, whenever i first started getting into gaming, i found it very easy to get into an FPS because everything is fairly natural with aiming with the mouse. the only difficulty for me was getting used to the WASD system.

seriously, i have yet to meet somebody that can't learn an FPS control scheme within 15 min of playing. Kotor was a bit different. not the control scheme, but rather understanding the whole turn-based combat and the attack/defense deal. for an RPG n00b like me, it was something that took a while to learn.

i guess it does depend on what you want. if adrenaline highs are your thing, a good FPS will get you going pretty good. if thinking things through and intense planning are more your thing, RTS and RPG's will suit you just fine.

I agree with this one, it is really good. Just made Seargent myself. :D

Especially since they just nerfed them cheatin' grubbin' dolphin divers and bunny hoppers! :xp:

Gandiva... that's Arjuna's bow, if I'm not mistaken.

Whatever, go for these:

FPS - Call of Duty 1 & 2, Halo, Unreal Tournament 2004 (only if you play online), F.E.A.R, Half-Life 2

RPG: Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic I & II

RTS: Civilization IV, Age of Empires III, Rome: Total War

if you don't like any of these, get a copy of the original Tetris. Awesome thing.

True! Glad to know someone's familiar with the name. Some people think I'm trying to spell, "Gun-Diva".

Anyway, can someone explain to me what FPS and stuff mean? I only know RPG because it's obvious. But I'm pretty new in PC games so... uh... yeah, what are the other meanings?

I looked Fable up but it's only on XBOX. :(

FPS=First Person Shooter.

the basic concept is that you play a character through their eyes. then, you run around till you get a gun and start shooting whoever is trying to kill you.

granted, that's a pretty basic description, but a lot of the old FPS games were exactly what i described. its a cool concept, and a lot of them can be one heck of an adrenaline rush. especially in some of the really big firefights that some of these games have. and if you go multiplayer, its really an adrenaline rush since playing against people is always different then playing against the computer.

hope that helps. ;)

RTS is Real-Time Strategy. This is the sort of game where you have to build, control you empire and almost-always conquer the opponent. Notable games in this genre are the Age of Empires series (most notably AoE II), Warcraft III, and the Total War series, notably Rome: Total War.

The Civilization series is not really a RTS, my mistake. Civ is greatly turn-based, where you finish all your actions in one turn, then end it and then everyone else does the same. If you have a slow connection, such turn-based games are the best bet for multiplayer gameplay.
