Even though I absolutely ADORE Star Wars Galaxies (April Fool!), I know

that this is probably the only RPG that Lucas Arts is going to make

about the time period during Episodes IV-VI. Real pity, that. No foolin'.

What do you think about creating a KOTOR-style RPG during the time

of the prequels, Episodes I-III? I'd support it if it had chances to...

--Meet Mace Windu and possibly learn his Vaapad fighting style!

--Meet Anakin Skywalker and witness his fall to the Dark Side.

--Get close to Senator Palpatine as he tries to sway your views.

--Comfort Padme Amidala as she reveals her fear, or exploit it.

--Side with the Senate and the Jedi or Palpatine and the Sith.

--Witness the horror of Order 66. Take part in the slaughter with

glee as a part of the Empire, or flee into exile as Yoda and Obi-wan did.

--Try and fend off General Grievous as he comes at you with 4 SABERS!!!

I know there is already a series of prequel games, but they're not RPG's.

You don't get to create your own character and take part in the story

as it unfolds. Maybe some modders, if they're around, could try and do

a mod like this with KOTOR I and II, if all else fails! (hint hint)

So--who wants an R-P(requel)G?

I thought about it once...

In the timepsan you describe, we still talk about 'the old republic' so it could be licensed under that name.

It would indeed be very cool to witness all the events in the movies. Fighting in the arena...the battle of Coruscant...Order 66...

They actually implented the idea in SW: Galactic battlegrounds. it's about Jedi Master Echuu then. You play with him in the Clone Wars campagin, as well in the Rebel campaign..

Bring it on! The only complaint I would have is that you already know how the story is going to end. I love RPG's because you make your own story.
That is ultimately why Bioware decided to make KOTOR in the era they did. There are just too many things to tie into in the prequel era. Most RPGs have the player become the focal point of a grand, world-changing story. You couldn't really do that with the prequel RPG.
