Bob Lion54
Hail and well met, fellow forumites. So, I have turned to the darkside. Yep, I have entered the world of MMOs. A coworker got me into them. He played World of Warcraft for years and was very exited about Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO). I was never interested in MMOs before, but his exuberance got to me. I got the game on its release day. DDO is a bit short on content one would expect from a MMO, but I like the game otherwise. I'm just hopping Turbine will release content on a regular schedule. From what I hear, they do but at present, the level cap is 10. Some people hit that within a week. I still enjoy the game, but my coworker got tired of it within a week. One day, the servers for DDO were down. We got frustrated and went to Best Buy and picked up Everquest 2. Its a good game, but I still prefer DDO. Anyway, so far I have tried DDO, EQ2, EQ1, and WOW. EQ1 seems cool, but I havn't really got into it yet. I activated WOW, but only played for a bit. Seems like a cool game, though. There is a Star Trek MMO in preduction. This fascinates me. I don't know how they are going to pull it off. I have to try this one for myself. I would try Galaxies, but I've heard enough about how bad it is. So, no Galaxies for me. News Article At startrek.com Anyway, anyone else tried DDO? Whats your opinions on the game? Im also curious what other MMOs people have played and enjoyed/hated. (Please leave Galaxies hating to a minimum. We all know it sucks. hehe )
Jeff
I tried Galaxies last summer. It sucks ass. I currently play WoW off and on, I'm not as addicted as most MMO players are
Alkonium
No. The only MMO I'm playing is going to be Guild Wars, due to the lack of a monthly fee. MMO makers should follow the example of Guild Wars.

Jeff
But Guild Wars don't have dozens of servers to pay for, that's why they don't have a monthly fee. If they split the game up into individual servers and they got numbers like Wow does, they would have to start charging. It's not that the other mmo companies are ripping you off with the $15 a month, they need the money to keep the game going.
Hallucination
I used to play Runescape, a free MMO (although they offer a members thing where you pay $5 a month), but it's only fun for the first fifteen minutes. And the graphics are horrid. I got WoW after Christmas, and I love it even though I only play on breaks from school.
Sabretooth
So, I have turned to the darkside. Yep, I have entered the world of MMOs. *sigh* You were a good one, Bob. *napalm lands in Bob Lion's eyes* I once tried Ragnarok Online and A3. They went so bad, I had to see a pyschiatrist to get treatment from borderline-schizophrenia...
RedHawke
The only MMORPG I would want to play would be one for Babylon 5... I would have one goal get a Shadow ship, and form a gang of Ex-Shadow servants. Wait! A White Star wouldn't be too bad either, but that would be my second character. stingerhs
so far, i've only played one MMO. and that one was Planetside. it was OK, but it really needed voice chat given that massive squads of players (which could total upwards of 300+) could be assaulting an enemy base at one time. as an FPS, it was pretty good. as a multiplayer game, well, it didn't really emphasize the community too much. overall, i didn't spend much more than a month on it. after that, i sold my account to somebody on Ebay and never looked back. Reclaimer
I used to play Guild Wars, but loaned it to my friend for a week and never got it back (Should go kick his door down for it) Guild Wars is a pretty good game, but certain servers are pretty laggy, and there are too many easy quests (for me atleast)

BTW: are you in a Guild right now? if no, give me your name and I can get you into mine.
Emperor Devon
Absolutely not. MMOs either suck, have terrible graphics, or have monthly fees.
