Mace MacLeod
To spin off this iPod vs Zune debate, I have to ask this. I don't own an iPod, and only very recently bought a CD player that plays MP3s. I'm a diehard audiophile, and MP3s really seem like a backward step from the 44.1 kHz CD quality sound. I was reading the responses of people debating the 30 vs 60 gigs of space for audio and video, and I have to know. Does anyone really use their beloved iPods for watching videos? Do you walk down the street careening off walls glued to your electronic devices, oblivious to the world around you? Is viewing video footage such an integral part of your life and/or occupation that you can't wait to get back home to your tv or computer that an iPod/Zune just has to have this capability? What gives?
The Doctor
Well, I have an iPod Nano, so I don't get the video function. But I don't need it. I don't watch that many movies or TV anyway, so it's not a requirement in my opinion. That's why the PSP doesn't appeal to me - plus the fact that I hate sony with a passion that denies me the ability to grant them the honour of capitalising their name. I just don't see why people need portable video devices.
mimartin
I have it where I can hook it up to my car stereo. It saves me from constantly changing out my CD collection in the car. I let my nieces and nephews watch the video feature in the car. This keeps them quite and saves me from purchasing a dvd/tv for my car. Can’t say I use the video feature everyday, but I am glad I splurged for that feature.
milo
I don't have an ipod video myself, but a friend of mine does. He's downloaded a bunch of episodes of The Office and South Park, and watches them quite often.
Jae Onasi
Walking and watching an ipod video in the Chicago region would invite muggers and cause accidents, because cars don't get out of the way or stop for pedestrians in that city, unless the cops are watching (and maybe not even then). RC-1162
i too have an iPod Nano and i like it. i think its better than the bulkier 30/60 GB ones. actually, my dad was asking me if i wanted the 30GB one. when i asked why, the sales guys said i could watch movies in it if i wanted. nah i took the Nano, and i'm proud of it. ChAiNz.2da
I do, but well.. I work in video so not only can I play movies or tv shows.. I have my walking portfolio with me at all times.. Plus, my power went out last night.. so I go to take advantage of the video function (it was that or sit in the dark)... But, for the most part (in all honesty) it's mostly a music player
Darth333
I never use the video feature. Watching videos on an iPod never appealed to me. I prefer reading while using the iPod as a music player.
Commander Obi-Wan
I don't have an iPod video. I just have a simple iPod shuffle. So, I don't watch any videos on it.
Char Ell
I guess some people think the video iPod is the best thing since sliced bread. As for myself I have no desire to watch video footage from TV shows, movies, or whatever else on a 2" screen. Waaaay too small. Now if they come up with some 3D glasses that you plug into the iPod and were presented with a fully immersive audio-visual experience... Yeah, I would go for that. You mean these? http://www.ipodnn.com/articles/06/06/16/video.glasses.for.ipod/ or http://itreview.belproject.com/item/1882 or http://4peeps.com/ivb/index.php?showtopic=24321 or.... (yeah, this idea has become really popular)... One of the guys I work with received a "tester" set of one of these, I can't remember which model.. but they were amazing. I was skeptical at first, but after you put them on... wow! They're also in the works of making glasses to replace PC monitors p.s. if you want more models to research, just do a "glasses for iPod" search on Google

Music yes, but when your on the go, how can you concentrate on a film?? It does'nt make sence.
