abespam Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 so i was surfing through imdb .. and i came across this page hitman movie I couldnt think of anyone better to play Agent 47, though his voice seems a bit too deep. Hopefully its not another poor game-to-movie conversion.
Lightsaberboy Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I wanted Jason Statham to play Hitman 47 instead. Vin Diesel is way to built for the role 47 isn't supposed to be that buff, plus Jason already has the accent in him.
Darth Groovy Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I wanted Jason Statham to play Hitman 47 instead. I would have to second that. I thought of Hitman the first time I ever saw The Transporter. Not to offend anyone, but Vin Diesel?! How ghey....no pun intended... I won't see this film on general principles.
Black Knight of Keno Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Yeah, I think Vin Diesel doesn't really have that Hitman in him. He's more of a "bang-bang, slaughter-slaughter, mission accomplished" kind of person while they should get a "sneak-sneak, strangle-strangle, silenced bang, mission accomplished" kind of a person. And I really don't know how you can get a plot for a movie from Hitman. It might just be hard enought that it'll make the movie crash and burn
Lightsaberboy Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I just hope they focus on the stealth aspect of the Hitman games instead of making it an all out shooting explosions and whatnot movie.
jon_hill987 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I just hope they focus on the stealth aspect of the Hitman games instead of making it an all out shooting explosions and whatnot movie. Not a chance, you just know this film will just be another xXx.
Pho3nix Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Not a chance, you just know this film will just be another xXx. Right you are.
Lantzen Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Hate when they make movies out of games, 90% of them are so bad. They just slaugther the hole story of the game, then make some figthing scenes, and people will see it just because it have the game name. And it will be even worse with Vin Disel in it, not that i think he is bad, but all his movies are focused on figthing, not sneaking
Black Knight of Keno Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 There was some sneaking in Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black... >_>
ET Warrior Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Vin Diesel is a TERRIBLE actor to play in the role of Agent 47. As mentioned earlier, Jason Statham is beyond the perfect actor for the role. He has the look, the moves, the sound, and is overall much more awesome. Booooo Vin Diesel.
Jeff Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Hopefully its not another poor game-to-movie conversion.I'd be willing to bet it will be.
BongoBob Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 HOORAY BEER! I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of Jason when I first saw Agent 47.
Ratmjedi Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I don't know about you guys but I think that Jason Isaacs would be just as good as Jason Stathom.
Father Torque Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I would have to second that. I thought of Hitman the first time I ever saw The Transporter. That's probably the problem. People would just think that Jason Statham is playing almost exactly the same role. Vin Diesel is not on my list of favorite actors by any means, but his prestige as an action movie star will surely draw in alot of attention, which is probably why he was picked.

Lomall Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 That's probably the problem. People would just think that Jason Statham is playing almost exactly the same role. He got the part becuse he is also the executive producer.
The Seeker Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Vin Diesel sucks just as an actor. I'm sure he's a good person, but well, maybe he missed his calling as a wal-mart manager because acting just doesn't suit him. Seeing him cast for Hitman brings on the same reaction as when I saw that The Rock was cast in Doom: "Aw, Crap!" Pass.
toms Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I just watched Crank.. that is a cool hitman film. Jason Statham kicks butt as usual.. but in a much more fun way than The Transporter. But it makes me think.. the plot for Hitman is so SPECTACULARLY GENERIC that i don't see the point in liscencing the game. They could just make any old movie about a hitman.. call it "hitman" and have a generic action movie. I never understand why they insiste on taking generic games and making them into genre movies.. when they could just make the damn movie and forget the game.. and avoid pissing off a lot of game fans in the process.
abespam Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 serious bumpage... but i saw this over on joystiq.com Link That is all. Go back to your lives and wii
Lightsaberboy Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Hmm. His face looks more like a Max Payne than an Agent 47 imo.Timothy Olyander's had a wide range of acting roles though so that's good. I'll reserve judgement until I see the movie.
jon_hill987 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Well that is good news, might be worth seeing now.
Mace MacLeod Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 When will Hollywood learn not to make movies based on video games? And these guys are mystified as to why their profits are dropping like a brick...
MTV2 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 VIN DIESEL!!!?!?!?!!?!? I was thinking more of the Transporter guy, guy from Crank. Jason...?
Lightsaberboy Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 VIN DIESEL!!!?!?!?!!?!? I was thinking more of the Transporter guy, guy from Crank. Jason...? Someone didn't read the rest of the topic
