MrWally
Way more than 3 in the past 2 months. And some schools (such as mine) already have Police Officers patrolling the hallways.
Dagobahn Eagle
NRA plan for securing schools from shootings and molesters: Yes! This is a fantastic idea! We should give all the students guns too.Wait, wait, wait! That's already been done! Bring in the JROTC! The cute little Bushtlerjugend of the Fatherland:p. Just what we need, to arm 14-year olds with hormones running amok with AK-47s and Bazookas! We'd never have a school shooting again!
Nerd_Annhilator
Teachers with guns vs The Hitler Youth! But really. I say we give them tazers. BILLY! I TOLD YOU TO STOP TALKING! zzzzzzzzzbzzzzzttt mmm slow roasted goodness
Jae Onasi
I'm thinking tranquilizer guns are a good compromise. The vision of Marlon Perkins from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom comes to mind. "And here's my good friend Jim--he's going to take his tranquilizer gun and stalk our quarry. It's a 15 year old and a fine specimen--he's going to be one tough animal to track, but Jim's up to the job. Oh, wait, the animal caught Jim's scent and is bolting--but no need to worry! Jim's an excellent shot, and can put down running animals at 200 yards away. He's firing....What a great shot!! The animal is down, and soon we'll be there, monitoring him closely, because we care about safety of all our prey." Yes, but the image of an awake jerk suddenly falling to sleep into the wall is more amusing. You know, with the meds I'm on, that actually made sense for about 2.47 seconds. Then again, imagine the horror if someone were to go on a shooting rampage with a stolen tranquilizer gun... and then turns the the gun on himself... Well, at least he wouldn't kill himself. They'd all have a nice sleep, and after they all woke up from their comas, it'd be a brand new week.

Samnmax221
They don't give JROTC or ROTC students weapons -_- I used to be in NJROTC, let me just say that you can't can't swing a fetus around without hitting someone with severe emotional problems, that being one of the reasons I left. The only "weapons" we ever had were demiliterized (Lead poured in the barrel, and bolt locked shut) M-1's, which is more then many schools get due to gun bans in larger cities. Dagobahn Eagle
Please tell me you're being sarcastic, and that you really don't belive that they give JROTC kids weapons.Yup. Though technically, my brother was in the JROTC when we lived in Houston, and rifle practice was one of the reasons he joined. So yes, they're given weapons to fire. Though of course they don't exactly carry machine guns and bazookas (or for that matter regular guns) around besides from that. Not nearly what I meant:D. generalvaklu321
I'm thinking tranquilizer guns are a good compromise. No, tranquilizer blow guns. Twice as cool and if a kid were to take it, the damage he/she can do is limited. How many kids in your school can use a blowgun with lethal abillities? In my school, I'm guessing 6. Most children can't even nudge those, and teachers should be able to do quite a bit of damage with them [enter picture in my head about skinny young female teacher swining huge sledgehammer at poor youth:D]. Or maybe teachers shouldn't be armed in the first place. The Republican realizes his proposal is extreme.Good man. But, he says, it's a concept that has worked well in other countries, such as Israel and Thailand (...)Oh, Holy ****. Poor Palestinian students:(.

The sheer confusion will stall an attempt to shoot up the school. The attacker would just think "WTF, should I shoot them or laugh?" and before you know it, his/her is impaled. Davinq
Teachers should start to get paid more. And trained better. Who wouldn't want to be a student of a buff 30-year-old man fresh from a military camp? The teachers are gonna need to be better sharpshooters if they're going up against the "terrorists" of their own schools.

I'd love to see my teacher grapple and throw some kid in my class. Also, teach them kendo, just so they can be able to wail on somebody with a stick Seriously, teachers should carry tasers. Q
^^^ @Chase: I completely agree with everything you've said. There has to be consequences for ALL bad behavior at home and in school. What really pi$$ed me off in school was how teachers would let certain kids get away with anything and then come down hard on any kid who had the nerve to object to that kind of overt favoritism. It has the effect of undermining a kid's respect for authority. While I certainly have no objections to teachers learning martial arts, I think that allowing them to tote guns in school would be akin to throwing gasoline on a fire. MasterRoss08
Bravoly said Chase! Bad Parents can be a cause as to why there are so many school shootings and all sorts of crime kids do these days. Parents,Senators, congressmen,Media etc u name it are blaming video games ,tv, anything which is a bunch of bulogna when they dont even look at themselves on how they parent there kids etc. ( there are tv shows etc that are not meant to be veiwed for young veiwers that I can bet alot of kids watch etc due to parents not caring which can result in there bad behavior etc)
Mace MacLeod
Man, I must be getting old. I can actually remember when it was considered part of a teacher's job to deal with misbehaving students and smooth over disruptions without resorting to violence of any kind. MrWally
I would buy it Chase. If it had pictures. We were talking about that in health the other day, and it angers me when the teacher is basically standing up there and saying that there is absolutley nothing wrong with teen sex as long as it's a responsible couple, protection is used, and the girl is on birth control. It fricken pisses me off, because they're teaching kids to just go have sex and potentially ruin their lives.

MrWally
I said "Potentially." Because as Chase said, even with protection and condoms, there's a chance of pregnancy or getting an STD. Personally, I wouldn't risk that chance. Sorry if that wasn't clear
Dagobahn Eagle
How is it going to ruin lives to have safe sex? There. Is. No. Such. Thing. As. Safe. Sex. Agree with Wally. But let's take that to the Sentates' abstinence thread:).
Dagobahn Eagle
^Yeah plus there could be other concequences as well. Teens are sex maniacs.Exactly. Boy wants to have sex, girl doesn't want to, boy pesters her until she gives in, she feels horrible afterwards, repeat until girl's life is ruined. Look, teenages (I'll exclude children, as I guess everyone agrees they shouldn't have sex:p) last for, what, six years? Is it really that hard to control your hormones for that long?
