The Sith'ari
I hope this has never been done before. Rules: No priority needed. However, feel free to add weighting to your reasons. If you can't think of 10 reasons, be guilty you don't have enough. If you have more than 10 to list, feel free to list it all out! I'll start: 1) Excellent way to learn English from fellow LF'ers 2) Excellent logical reasoning practice by making arguments 3) I love Star Wars 4) I love Knights of the Old Republic 5) Friendly people who reply your posts 6) Intelligent people who never stop poking at your posts 7) Mods that rock 8) Mods who rock (RH, Prime, Chainz, and recently Jae and Stoffe, etc, you're all unforgettable (though Prime ignored my mod request. Or maybe he just forgot)) 9) Admin(s) who get(s) to be lawyer(s) and know(s) French (Yes she's my idol ) 10) All the friends I'm gonna make here! Now, I know I've not been here long, and I don't really know that much of you, but I just wanna say you guys are great people. I hope we get to know each other more, and for that I'm gonna stick around! An early Merry Christmas! ::::::::::::::
Diego Varen
I'm busy right now, so I'll edit this post with reasons later. Good topic by the way. Edit: Here are mine, in no particular order. 1. Nice members. 2. Great staff, who without them, LF wouldn't be possible. 3. A learning experience. 4. Best Star Wars Forum on the Internet. 5. Great Forum design. 6. The one Star Wars Forum I know I can release Fanfiction and RPs. 7. ??? 8. ??? 9. ??? 10. ???
Inyri
1) Best source for KotOR modding information on the net. 2) Intelligent staff who take a real interest in their forum and community. 3) Intelligent visitors who take a real interest in their work and the work of others. 4) Almost exclusively positive atmosphere. 5) Great discussion, both about KotOR and about other material. 6) Great resources. Oh wait, I already said that... 7) Nice forum skin. 8) Did I already mention the staff here is one of the best of any forum I've seen of similar size? Oh yes, I did... well it's important! 9) Great way to find out which mods are worth it and which aren't... though if you trust what people here say, they're all worth it! 10) An overall great community. Everyone here should be proud of themselves for creating such a great place to be.
igyman
Hmmmm (my classic way of starting posts like this ): 1) I get to meet and talk to people from all over the world 2) I get to practice my English daily 3) I get to participate in many debates, ranging from serious to those that get the imagination going 4) I get to read stories written by people that aren't professional writers 5) I get to be really creative and write my own stories that other people read 6) I get to be creative and helpful in the ''Avatar/Sig...'' and the ''Name problems'' thread 7) Age doesn't matter here, we all treat each other with equal respect (except sometimes when we're defending our views in a controversial topic) 8) Insults aren't tolerated and people who can't hold back from insulting are taken care of, swiftly and with style (damn, I'm starting to cite the rules ) 9) There's always something to talk about, Star Wars-related, or otherwise 10) You can say ''May the Force be with you'' and not be considered a complete weirdo. Balderdash
8) Insults aren't tolerated and people who can't hold back from insulting are taken care of, swiftly and with style (damn, I'm starting to cite the rules ) Honestly, sometimes I find myself wishing insults were allowed on boards like this because I love finding creative ways to diss people. It's empowering and I love it. But LF is a very pleasant place to post, with, it would seem, very very few idiots -- so I don't find myself thinking like that here. I'm not going to make a list. I just post here to pass the time and check out all the great mods people make. You'll never see me shy away from a discussion about something I feel passionately about, but I can do that in my real life or on other boards, so that isn't a reason to 'love' LF. Titanius Anglesmith
I know I've only been here a short time, but I already love this place. 1) The best Star Wars forum around. 2) Very well designed. 3) A great staff that takes care of trouble makers quickly. 4) I get to practice my English and writing skills everyday.(without being graded ) 5) I get to talk to friendly people from all around the world. 6) I can polish up on my debating skills, whether it be serious or not. 7) I can practice creative writing just for fun, with no grading.(at least I hope so, I think I might start a fic fairly soon) 8) A great place to talk about anything Star Wars without being considered a loser. 9) A learning experience. 10) Where else can I talk about Star Wars with thousands of other people all the time?! HerbieZ
1)The riveting conversation. 2)Having an argument about something irrelevant and then bailing out half way through leaving people hanging on my answers 3)People who mention me in their posts 4)Good forum Design 5)Star Wars is always the topic of the day 6)Talking with people who share the same interests as me. 7)The above but with females my age 8)All the people on the forum have played one of the same games as me. Coincidence? Conspiracy more like... 9)People who understand when they hear what i have to say 10)People who think im a Mon Cal in real life
St. Jimmy
Hoorah. Another list. 1. Decent people who actually listen to what you have to say. 2. There's some form of discipline here. (Unlike many other forums) 3. There's always something new to talk about. 4. It doesn't matter who you are, you get the respect you deserve. 5. When I was still new, the guys in the Star Wars forum put up with my absolute n00bness. (thanks guys) 6. It's yet another place where I'm the sexiest guy around.. 7. You don't feel obligated to post or keep returning, it's your choice. 8. Pretty customizable profiles. 9. This is my second to last reason. 10. I get to be as stupid as I like and people accept all the basketcases anyway. w00!
CSI
Great. Another list. [sighs] 1. Good friends, such as JM12, JS, Pottsie, Anakin, DL, and other people. 2. Good discipline, which is an unfortunate fact that I can't deny. 3. Good way to post my fic and accepting comments and corrections from people, thus improving my English. 4. Good RP environment, which gives us imagery duels. 5. Poking at other people's post. 6. Customerizable avartars, sigs, and profiles. 7. Great mods, such as Jae, Darth Moeller, stoffe -mkb-, and others. 8. Great design. 9. Although sometimes it lags, it still is my fav website. 10. And this is the last reason. Fuu
8) Insults aren't tolerated and people who can't hold back from insulting are taken care of, swiftly and with style (damn, I'm starting to cite the rules ) Well, more accurately flaming isn’t tolerated. Insults (when posted in jest, without being truly offensive) are more often appreciated than not. Although, I will agree that one can never appreciate a bad insult. Honestly, sometimes I find myself wishing insults were allowed on boards like this because I love finding creative ways to diss people. It's empowering and I love it. But LF is a very pleasant place to post, with, it would seem, very very few idiots -- so I don't find myself thinking like that here. Seems like you just did. Don’t brag about your love of disrespect. It’s one thing to joke but another to really disrespect, no matter how clever. I'm not going to make a list. I just post here to pass the time and check out all the great mods people make. You'll never see me shy away from a discussion about something I feel passionately about, but I can do that in my real life or on other boards, so that isn't a reason to 'love' LF. Lurker huh? If you don’t have a reason to heart LF you shouldn’t have posted. It’s called spam, and its defined in The Rules. Oh, and btw: Your Avatar is beyond disgusting. This forum is open for anyone to read, including impressionable children & young adults. The innuendo is completely inappropriate (and to some offensive). Please use something else. I have dealt with it Fuu. -RH Quote: Originally Posted by Evln 1) Excellent way to learn English from fellow LF'ers Oh my... CrApse, thar goes the internetz! It never used to lag, CSI. Since I joined there have been many occasions where the server(s) was lagged beyond my browser's timeout. Usually from a massive amount of users (too many people who <3 LFN). Admittedly I haven’t been around much lately, but I wouldn’t say it never happens. My Reasons: Ahtonauts make me laugh. Random venting. Some of my best online moments originated from / as a result of going to LFN. FINALLY, I'm POPULAR! People actually get my jokes (or at least ignore them!) There is verry little YHBT going on. PEANUT BUTTA JELLEY TIME! Kirapix Mad love from my homies. Double entendres. The dream that George Lucas might someday respond to one of my posts. I can post about going to the white place and someone might know what it is. Because Santa is an Elf-Tosser (Don’t ask.) Someone read my fic! (I have more but it’s late and my brain doesn’t like me.) But the most important reason is: The good friends I have made. Honestly, there are several LFN’rs out there whom I consider to be close friends. Of those there are even a few coming to my wedding. So, I guess I owe Mr. Lucas and all the Admins/Mods a big thank you for making it possible in the firstplace. Spank you!

The Sith'ari
1) Excellent way to learn English from fellow LF'ers Oh my... Huh? What's the implication? Um... I ain't native English speaker. People in my place they don't communicate in English and we don't get to speak/listen to English very much. So... I DO try to improve my English here. Really? What was it? The one I PM you about... making tunics in K2 wearable by other NPCs and also transporting them to K1. But still I thank you for giving instructions how to do it. Ah, now i get it - this is a newbie candy cane thread I used to make excited threads like this in my first and second year internship to: "OMG!! I <3 STARWARZS" Well, even after years you can still heart LF for old and/or new reasons right? I know it sounds lame... but well, I'm young and I'm n00b, so I'm justified to express some childish love.
Rogue15
1. i get to help out the people new to star wars gaming 2. there are some pretty good topics, usually 3. not many rude members 4. like someone else said, no obligation to post (yea i used to post ALOT....that was about 5 years ago...) 5. Ztalker
I like LF for it's.... 1) Excellent English training (no doubt this post contains tons of errors) 2) Getting flamed for flaming Rap 3) Fanfics! 4) Mods...without them, Kotor would have 'died' long ago. 5) The Workbench. Ideal for hardware problems. 6) It's humor...just loving the whole 'Asylum' thing going on 7) Moderators..hmm...had some nasty experiences with them too. But hey. Compared to other forums, they're the best of the best 8) Excellent members. There's no-one I particulay dislike... 9) Original discussions (The new world wonders, tying the know...superb!) 10) policiy agianst '1337-speak.' It isn't allowed @Topic: Huh? Vaelastraz
I'm a member of countless forums... this here is outstanding! 1.) Great staff. In some forums the staff comes across slightly arrogant *cough*... that's not the case here, good! 2.) Entertaining debates going on. 3.) Good English training for me. 4.) No 1337!!!! 5.) No rude members. Almost.

Why am I still here? I don't know. I used to check out the Planet***** forums from Gamespy...hell... I used to be on the official Forgotten Hope forum...hell... I used to be in a lot of places...hell... I guess people are nice here, though there was a time (late 2002, early 2003), when blood was boiling a bit everywhere and LF was also dragged into the debate. Horrible times... People behave, can have conversations without insults, even debates about religion that are actually the most mature I've ever seen. The moderators are generally nice (except when they sue you...). I guess that's it hehe.
