Jae Onasi Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 If you have any questions about how things work in Javyar's Cantina that aren't answered in the sticky on 'How to Contribute a Tale', post them here!
Rabish Bini Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I have a question. Can we submit poems and song fics like the one I did?
Jae Onasi Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 You can, though my experience has been songfics do better than poems.
Kas'!m Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Maybe an asinine question but who is Javyar?
Jae Onasi Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 Maybe an asinine question but who is Javyar? Javyar's cantina is the one in Taris Lower City.
JasraLantill Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Is there a limit set on the length of a submission?
Jae Onasi Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 No limit on the length. It can be as short or as long as you'd like.
machievelli Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Do we have a suject to be inflicted for March? I may be outta here in the next week to ten, and wanted to see if I could roll one out beforeI leave.
Rogue Nine Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 The poll closes on the 12th, so we should have our winner by the 13th. The winner of this contest chooses the next theme, so if you can wait a week, we should have a new topic.
Jae Onasi Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 Where'd all the February stories go? D: I moved them all to CEC so people can view them there. The links are still in the Feb Tale topic thread.
Rogue Nine Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 It can be anything, as long as it conforms to the current theme and Javyar's rules.
HK-42 Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Another Q: After they are moved to the CEC can we put them in the archives?
Emperor Devon Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 That's what I'd guess. People comment in them and mach reviews them, so they look like they count as "normal" fics.
Jae Onasi Posted March 21, 2007 Author Posted March 21, 2007 Another Q: After they are moved to the CEC can we put them in the archives? Yes, you can.
SilentScope001 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I feel as though I will be unable to post the topic that has the fan ficon March 31st. Is it okay to email Jae the fan fiction so that it can be posted? I tried PM but it was too long...
Jae Onasi Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 I feel as though I will be unable to post the topic that has the fan ficon March 31st. Is it okay to email Jae the fan fiction so that it can be posted? I tried PM but it was too long... You certainly can feel free to post it in CEC if you don't want to post it by the 31st deadline in the Cantina.
SilentScope001 Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Hm, I done so twice and both times, it was deleted. Did you just save it and then deleted it so that it will be placed back here at the end of the contest? Or is there an error that has occured? The How to post a tale sticky explains it fully and will give you all the instructions. --Jae
Emperor Devon Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Nope, nothing's wrong. All fics submitted to the forum are invisible to non-mods until the voting starts.
SilentScope001 Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Ah, okay. Sorry for the confusion, I won't do that again.
Tysyacha Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Can one person win the Scoundrel's Prize more than once in a row?
Emperor Devon Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Nope. You can still enter and receive votes, but you won't be able to pick the next topic.
Jae Onasi Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 To prevent someone from winning a bunch of times in a row, we decided to state that the winner of one month's contest can't be the winner of the next contest. After all, s/he is picking the topic, and that would give the winner an unfair advantage in the next month's contest. The winner can write a fic for the next month's contest, but they're ineligible to win.
Diego Varen Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 To prevent someone from winning a bunch of times in a row, we decided to state that the winner of one month's contest can't be the winner of the next contest. After all, s/he is picking the topic, and that would give the winner an unfair advantage in the next month's contest. The winner can write a fic for the next month's contest, but they're ineligible to win. That sounds fair Jae. After all, at the moment, I'm only entering every two months, but that will end soon and what you've come up with is good. So will that mean their Fan Fic can't be voted??
