Rogue Spy
I was recently watching a movie review show, and there happens to be a movie called Death of a President which is based on George Bush being assassinated in October of this year!! LOL is all i have to say to that, i mean only Americans would make something that crazy...i hope people that are American don't get the wrong message when i say that, but what a movie...not only is it bad karma but i can't beleave its released, knowing USA i thought that it would be banned the minute it was heard about. I want to see this movie, it has a very strange storyline indeed. Mod note: Moved to Ahto since discussion about a movie doesn't strike me as a "serious" conversation topic. ~M
SithRevan
I am surprised that the Bush administration would even allow a movie like that to be made or released.
Boba Rhett
Why? Does the presidency have a say over what gets put on film?
Aash Li
lol. Im not sure what country you guys live in, but in America, we still have freedom of speech. Yes you really can say whatever you want, just dont expect there to be no consequences. The government cant ban anything from being made, unless it gets passed into law. And banning a movie would be infringing on those rights. Now if a town or a movie theater or the like chooses to ban it, thats another matter. Is this the movie where Rush Limbaugh plays the president? if so, I believe this movie was made tongue-in-cheek...
HerbieZ
It's not even American. It was made in England, i saw it about 4 months ago. Only watched it til george bush died. IT was made to study the possible impact on the world should George Bush die. Meh...
Jediphile
I am surprised that the Bush administration would even allow a movie like that to be made or released. I'd like to see them try - the media would have a field day... And the Bush administration needs bad press like the plague. And as HerbieZ said, the film is british, not american: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0853096/
JediMaster12
Why? Does the presidency have a say over what gets put on film? If you are talking about blacklisting Hollywood again like the McCarthy area then yeah. Other than that the freedom of speech applies. But like Herbie said, the film was made in England as a means to see what could happen. From the surface, it sounds like anthroplogical theory as to the what ifs and observations. Kas'!m
I don't mean to sound treasonous, but I hope Bush does die; he's driving this great nation into the ground. I have a feeling our fall is going to be a lot worse than France's.
SilentScope001
I don't mean to sound treasonous, but I hope Bush does die; he's driving this great nation into the ground. I have a feeling our fall is going to be a lot worse than France's. All man are mortal. Bush is a man. Therefore, Bush is mortal. This recalls the Shattered Union computer and video game where the President deals with a ton of domsetic terrorists, get appointed by the US Supereme Court and later get assainated by a nuclear bomb, plunging the whole United States in a civil war between left-wing and right-wing terrorist organizations. Not a very good game, nor a very good storyline, but it got potential.
JediMaster12
Just a matter of opinion kiddo. Still I would be careful of what kind of words you use. With the Patriot Act in place, it is like what everyone's been saying, Big Brother is Watching You. If you ask me, it is like McCarthy all over again except they aren't blacklisting Hollywood, just insulting it.
Mace MacLeod
Meh. The film was quite a bit kinder to Bush than could have been expected, but the potential for his death (or anyone else's who was significant enough) to be used simply as an excuse for greater aggression was right on the money. There's not much I'd put past them at this point.

A lot of people used to have that sort-of belief in that 'Presidents elected in a year ending in zero have all died in office' curse (at least til Reagan made it), so it doesn't surprise me to see something like this kind of movie

Cheney is the best life insurance policy that Bush could ever have. Meh. Rogue Spy
All i know is it's bad karma. Nobody should have a movie made on 'what if' they died on this month of this specific year.

TK-8252
I find it so odd how so many people actually think that Bush is some kind of decisive leader, where without him, America and the world would be so much different. If Bush was assassinated, there would only be worse policies put into place as a result. Our current fascist system in place would only become more radical if a terrorist were able to penetrate this country's security so far as to assassinate the President. Ultimately, Bush is just a puppet, who would be easily replaced by another fake Christian conservative Republican politician.
