Sabretooth Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Yay! 300 Seconds of 300!!! Watch 300 seconds of the actual movie, sub-average quality.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Sweet. Though, I dunno if I want to spoil it. IGN also gave this a perfect rating. Though, not like that means much since it's us who decide if the movie is great or not. IGN 300 review.
MTV2 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Then why didn't anyone post it here before? Huh? You held this knowledge and didn't tell me? Why??? someone posted it along time ago. like when the first trailer came out and it was too gory and was banned everywhere. i'm hoping to see it this Saturday, in IMAX O.o HD Trailer
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 someone posted it along time ago. like when the first trailer came out and it was too gory and was banned everywhere. That was in the Swamp. i'm hoping to see it this Saturday, in IMAX O.o I hope it see it in IMAX too. Possibly tomorrow.
Negative Sun Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 I don't check the Swamp that often anymore...
tk102 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 So, is this movie just a bunch of gore glorified in fancy cinematography? That's all it appears to be.
Achilles Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 So, is this movie just a bunch of gore glorified in fancy cinematography? That's all it appears to be. Yep. The cinematography is maybe worth the cost of a ticket. Otherwise, it's chum for fanboys.
Mike Windu Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Plus, lots of neat little action scenes. Though there is an overabundance of slow mo. I liked it. Not great but good. Tonight we dine in hell!
Samuel Dravis Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Yep. The cinematography is maybe worth the cost of a ticket. Otherwise, it's chum for fanboys.I'm not sure what else anyone would expect from a movie about a battle. It is a good show though, very stylized. I like movies that have a good art theme, and 300 has it. Besides, it's the only thing that has ever made me think that men who wear speedos are cool.
Achilles Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Don't get me wrong: the movie met the expectations that I had set for it, for the most part (*cough*lameending*cough*) ...but that doesn't mean that it isn't a fanboy movie. And yes, it was very pretty.
HerbieZ Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 There are always people claiming about innaccuracies, i wish some of them were in this film...
swphreak Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 It was awesome. Never read the comic, never really cared about Spartan history. I could watch the battles nonstop, and the style of the movie was done very well. I'm pleased with the results.
Negative Sun Posted March 10, 2007 Author Posted March 10, 2007 There are always people claiming about innaccuracies, i wish some of them were in this film... On the wrong side of the blade I assume?
Aash Li Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Im going with a girl friend to see this, she wants to see it as much as I do. hehe I didnt like sin city at all, but this movie looks awesome!
MTV2 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 That was in the Swamp. god, its easy to forget where you are around here.
Aash Li Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 heard on the Drudge Report tonite that 300 made more than the other top 10 movies combined on its opening weekend. O.o Oh, and warner bros was attempting to market this to kids. lol
Achilles Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Yep. 300 = $70 million. The other 9 = $66.92 million. It also took in about $7 mil overseas. Oh, and he production budget was $65 mil. They should recoup their marketing budget by next weekend. Invest in Warner Bros next FQ folks
JoeDoe 2.0 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I just went to see the movie, have some dull moments, but it makes it up with some good fight scenes, I give it 4/5.
Jason Skywalker Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I'm looking forward to see this one. Thing is, it's only out here at abuot 5th of April. -.-
lukeiamyourdad Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I'm late at posting this, damn cold, but I saw it last Saturday. It was awesome and the theater was full. You'd be amazed how many "THIS...IS...SPARTA!" I've heard that evening hehe. Great movie, lousy on character development, but awesome visual style and fight sequence, which is what everyone is supposed to be looking for anyway. By the way, all the slave girls and other background hotties are from Montréal. I love my city hehe By the way, I can't believe that with all the gore they actually gave it a 13+ rating here. Some kids were in the theater with their parents...good parenting eh...
Prime Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Saw it last night. Entirely not enough blood or fighting. It is exceptional visually, and I like how the story had more of a fairytale or mythical quality.
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 It satisfied on of my most important movie criteria... The hero dies. Best movie I've seen in a while. Might even buy it. Two severed heads way up. Ahhh, the best part of the movie... The whole theater groaned sadly when the general got naked bu then broke out laughing when the queen made the "ouch face":naughty:
Mike Windu Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 No idea what you're talking about, Johnny. Anyway, playing starcraft (yeah, I still play that bad boy) and I holed myself as Switzerland on a hill and held out against Germany, Austria, and the USSR, all the while quoting 300. Eventually all of North Africa united and came to my rescue. Neat lil 300 reenactment
Sabretooth Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I wonder if anyone's heard of This. An Iranian official on Sunday lashed out at the Hollywood movie "300" for insulting the Persian civilization, local Fars News Agency reported. Javad Shamqadri, an art advisor to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, accused the new movie of being "part of a comprehensive U.S. psychological war aimed at Iranian culture", said the report. Shamqadri was quoted as saying "following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Hollywood and cultural authorities in the U.S. initiated studies to figure out how to attack Iranian culture," adding "certainly, the recent movie is a product of such studies." The movie's effort wound be fruitless, because "values in Iranian culture and the Islamic Revolution are too strongly seated to be damaged by such plans", said the Iranin official. Shamqadri, who is also a filmmaker, said that production of more domestic and artistic films which portray Iranian achievements is a proper response to movies like "300".
