Advanced Placement

Monday I had AP US Government & Politics. It wasn't too bad, I'm confident I got at least a 3 if not a 4.

Then Tuesday I had AP Computer Science A. Its Java, and going in to the exam I figured it would be impossible, so after the multiple choice it wasn't as hard as I thought and I probably had a 3 going in to the free response. But the free response was damn hard. It was all just writing new methods and classes for different programs. So I doubt I passed that one but we'll see. At least I don't have to worry about it till late July.

Those are my only 2 AP classes, I got lucky that they were in the first 2 days that AP started.

Are there any other American Swampies taking an Advanced Placement college board test this week and next? Tomorrow I have my AP European History exam.

Yup, I'm taking the same test too. By the way, I hate you because you live on the east coast which means that school starts in August for you, which means you guys get an extra month to study for this bloody test. Bitches.

(Also, are you a senior or a sophomore taking the test?)

Rox and I don't live on the East Coast, we live in the midwest, so yes, we started in August, but it was August 28th. :p

I'm only taking AP Euro as well.

Next year I plan on taking a lot more... I'm signed up for AP US history, AP Calc BC, AP English III, and (maybe?) AP Phys or Bio.

O_o

I have no idea how I'm going to make it next year.

Took AP Calc AB and AP Bio last year. This year I took a semester of calculus at a state college since AB calc is only like half a semester of the college class or something, AP Physics, and a bunch of concurrent enrollment classes. The physics test is coming up on Monday, I hope I pass :o

Sophomore.

If I loved you enough, I'd call you about the FRQ's and use the time difference so you'd have an edge :-p

It's okay, the FRQ's will be fine as long as I get something that's not based on England, French, Spanish, Dutch, Russian, Swedish, Finnish, Austrian, Hungarian, Prussian, German, Nazian, Labourian, Whigian, Jacobian, Chartist, Jesuit, Protestant, Methodist, Presbyterian, Calvanist, Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, 1500's, 1600's, 1700's, 1800's, 1900's histories, and I'll be fine.

If they do one on influential bands of the 60's, my God I'll be whoring out the Beatles as though I was an Asian avant-garde groupie.

I hope there is a Cold War one. I would rock that like Gorbachev rocked moderate reforms.

Except for Parastroika...

I would rock an English Civil War one like how Oliver Cromwell rocked both the monarchy and the parliament at the same time.

/total undeniable geekiness.

Even though I wouldn't say Gorbachev created more extreme reforms than his predecessors. When it comes to being extreme, Stalin's' total control and abuse of the peasantry and Kruschev's 180 reverse on Stalinism is akin to creating a house made of mud and bonemeal only to then hose it down with an industrial hydraulic pump in order to get it clean...

/my God I can't help it!

I would rock one on the differentiating views and ideals of Absolutism and Constitutionalism, East vs West type of thing and the alternate views of John Locke and Thomas Hobbes.

/joins the club

I would also really like an FRQ on the decline of European Nationalism after World War 2 with the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community, the EEC, NATO, and the EU as huge major points. However, I think there was an FRQ similar to that one in 2004, so it probably won't happen again. :(

/oh god no!

Yeah, I had AP U.S. Government & Politics, AP Comparative Government & Politics, AP Statistics, and AP English Literature.

I'm dead now, but I didn't worry too much, as AP exams don't affect my grade whatsoever.

I rocked out everything except the first frq, which was the equivalent of sloppy seconds but with enough of that lovin' feeling to get a decent grade, and the second frq which was akin to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, only with a few deformed mutants sprawling in-between that give the distinct impression that something that could've been never was.

Over all though, I think I'd get a 3 or maybe a 4.

I rocked all the essays for the AP Euro test. I did the FRQs on German (dis)unity and Urbanization. However, I ran out of time because I didn't pace myself correctly for the multiple choice section, so I didn't answer somewhere between 7 and 10 questions.

:(

However, if I did well enough on the essays I know I'll get a 4, and possibly a five. But that's pretty wishful thinking.

  • 1 month later...

We had 4 kids in our AP computer science class and all we did was goof off the whole 2nd semester. I think we had 1 assignment and then our teacher counted a field trip to a programming competition as an assignment so we could have more grades.

When I had orientation for college they told us to assume we passed all our ap classes and then we could always change our schedule if we didn't, well I assumed I didn't pass that one anyway. :3
