DrPhil2501
Gwah? Space Western... What exactly did you want? Yeah, I understand that its supposed to be Western. But don't you think they could have at least made those sets little more futuristic? And most of the guns (rifles and pistols) were our modern day weapons. I expected something a little more advanced. I did like the movie a whole lot better, as they stuck to the theme of Futuristic.
PoiuyWired
Well, a does does not have tu be futuristic if it gets the job done(aka why AK47 is everywhere) But I have to say, they could have at least add a bit of futuristic accessory on the things. King Dando
Emos grind my gears though, cause they think they're so non-conformist while they're not... I agree. I see them around where I live wearing Misfits hoodies, although its plainly obvious they have never listened to them before in their life, its only the image they're interested in. That and they seem convinced the Misfits are an emo band. Back to my musically-ignorant rant, around here if its black, dark, whatever, and its not metal, its apparently emo, people can't tell the difference. I'm in a Surf Rock/Horror Punk band, probably the only one around here, and people think we're emo because of the general horror theme. Misfits are great, saw them live last year with Osaka Popstar, did you catch them on that tour?
Ctrl Alt Del
I'd be happy to forgive you if you just say "Sorry about that" or something before my transaction is complete. Or at the very least "Thank you, have a nice day." The human-interaction is a factor I consider when deciding where to shop. Well, I don't stop what I'm doing while talking: packing a toy on gift pack, collecting small paint boxes on the top of a very unaccessible wardrobe, whatever. I just talk with my teammate while doing the assigned task. That, and there's the whole interacting-with-the-customer stuff. I suppose you get customers that really wear you out though too and sometimes it's all you can do stay sane. Right you are.

I do that all the time, and I belive the customers are really, really happy at that. I myself however find it very grating, as well as my co-workers. Why would people want to hear "Have a nice day" for the millionth time?

Well, it sure gets tiring to repeat that thousands of times, but I suppose it's just saying some words and the customer gets happy. More or less... But it gets rewarding if you get commission... Bimmerman
Having your 2nd gear synchro fail when heel-and-toeing a 180 degree corner on an autocross really grinds my gears. Quite literally too.

REDJOHNNYMIKE
Grinds my gears? hmmmm.... Maybe the fact that any time I disagree with someone, have a "unique" opinion on a topic, or just feel like ranting I'm somehow being disrespectful of life the universe and everything, but if you got issues then I got's to deal with them. Whiny beaches. What grinds my gears--people on welfare coming into my office driving new cars, wearing enough 14 karat gold jewelry to start their own jewelry business, carrying $300 Gucci handbags, and talking on their new cell phones about getting their nails manicured for their next night out at the fancy and expensive dance club. That is rampant where I live. Jae, or the foriegners that come over here and get all these perks from the government, new car, house, and all that and I get squat... I dont really like paying for all those perks they get... >_> (and yes, its our money they are giving; theres only one branch of government that makes money: the mint). Haven't seen that myself... but it sucks when everyone else gets stuff for free. Kinda like my iPod. It says it's 2gb on the back, but when you go check how much gb it has it says 1.8gb. Grrr. So what? You have a device that holds 1.8gb of music, better than that old 512 I got. >_> I think youre just trying to start an arguement... Then why did you make the rant thread? What grinds my gears is when you mention some obscure fact or person in a post and someone then posts a 1000 word biography on the subject as if to say "I knew about it first", or "Didn't anybody tell you, I'm the only one who speaks of blah blah", rendering your post worthless or less knowledgeable Was your post worthy or knowledgeable just because you mentioned something obscure? People who put "Quoted for Emphasis/Truth" in a post. Especially when it is in reply to a moderator or an admin. Soon as someone posts that in response to a moderator/admin comment, the user becomes a pane of glass for all to see through. It is simple fact that admins are Not, never have Been, nor ever Will be fallible. It is a sign of respect for those who hold our fragile existences together with their own sweat, blood, and somewhat questionable programming abilities. I can't stand Christian rock/pop/rap/metal. They're like their normal counterparts combined with epic fail and replacing second-person objective pronouns with 'Jesus' and 'Lord'. zAwwwMahGawd! They said God!! And therefore I don't approve! http://youtube.com/watch?v=WkZ4lRfllko lowQ vid, but... Your closed-minded prejudice and lack of evidence betrays your ignorance. Good day sir! Let's go shopping jmac. "Are you going to cover Greg's..." *jmac smack* me *pointing at self*: "Eyes here" Ooooh, Can I come too?!!! Throwing that plywood up to the second story has gots mah muscleys all tight and the engy drinks have made me homicidal! I am being good to shop wif now! I hate when people bash me for wearing the type of clothes I do. I live in an area where its all preps or chavs and they listen to rap or mainstream **** rock. I dress in tight shirts and chick jeans because I don't care for their baggy-ass jeans and shirts. I also wear chains and studded belts, and I have long hair (like, to shoulders and done some) and I'm called emo. Interestingly enough Emo is not what I associate with that.... I'm not touching the 'juicy' comment with a 10 foot pole. I'll touch it with mine... Also, my right eye. I scratched it on a shower curtain Monday morning. Yep, a shower curtain. I know how funny that sounds, but the first rung was broken and there was a nice little point. My doctor says it should be fine in a few days though. Still, it sucks. Everything is blurry but its getting better. I can actually read the forums and see what I'm typing now. Wow, that was dumb XP Hope you heal up buddy Rant Main Subject: When I invariably press "post quick reply" instead of hitting "enter" for new line.... you know what really grinds my gears? The settings and locations of Firefly. Don't get me wrong; the script and story are fantastic, but most of the sets look like they have been filmed at public places you'd see everyday; Towns, Villages and even ranches. Plus the guns aren't all that Futuristic. It's shiny because it isn't shiny! (if you don't get that, then I can't really help you) The theme isn't "futuristic" It's basically a Sci-fi version of life during the U.S. civil war era. Aash Li
In regards to the worker-visa people that "get stuff for free", they arent getting it for free, the government uses tax-dollars to pay for that. And along with Jae's rant, I hate it when people, especially politicians whine about how 13% (or w/e the figure is), dont have medical insurance... in this country, if you dont have it, then its because youre either a bum, or your priorities are wrong. Those poor people that have no insurance have cars and cell phones and tv (sometimes 2+), and gaming consoles and designer clothes. They just want insurance for "free." If they cut through all the people that say they dont have it because they are poor and looked at the real figures, they would find that the per cent would drop considerably. Im sure there are people out there that really are destitute and cant afford insurance, but that doesnt mean we should socialize our health care. >_< Id rather have private charities to help people out. Thats what we had before Roosevelt (I think?) welfare-ized America...

tk102
Here's another one that irks me. Fluorescent light bulbs -- the kind that are supposed to replace normal incandescents. Great idea, except their base makes them just a little too big to fit in my light fixtures. Edit: Just broke one trying to force it in like a dufus. There goes that $64 I was going to save over the course of 5 years.

Caius Fett
Another thing that irks me. I have been with the same cell phone company for 5 years and just recently tried to upgrade to a new phone and was told I'd have to pay full retail price because I don't qualify yet on my current plan for a discount. I mean WTF dosen't customer loyalty mean anything anymore?!! So now I'm stuck with a phone I hate for another year or pay $175 bucks to get out of this contract and and find a new provider. God I hate big buisness!!!
