FINAL FANTASY

Angel jumped in front of Rueben. "Allow me." You could tell that she was angry to see an ugly Deth Warrior like this one.

 

The young girl raised her arms up, and created a blue aura around her hands. Then, with a powerful blow, Angel shot her Blast Power at the hideous monster.

 

Unfortunatley, her blast power had no effect on the Deth's shield. "Darn! I promise, I'm gonna kill this... ooh!!"

"Oh... look... Randon found a plaything."

 

"What the hell you laughing about, fool?" Randon just barely dodged a swipe from the Deth warrior. Fighting a Deth was a serious matter, dangerous and life threatening. Afterall, they destroyed many towns throughout Gaia. "And of coarse we need help!"

 

He just saw in time the Blast Power emitting from Angel's hands. "Impressive..." he thought. This wasn't the first time he ever saw that, but now wasn't the time to think.

 

Randon estimated that the Blast had minused half the percentage of the Deth's personal shield. There was no way shields like that could last forever...

 

Randon used his Healing power to recover from his wound. Then he conjured electricity around his hands. This power was still in the third stage of development, but he mastered a Martial Arts technique which involved using Electricty.

 

He launched himself towards the Deth, and punched his electrifying hands at the Deth's shielded stomach. He could see the energy field changing colour, a clear indication it was getting weaker.

 

For each punch, he spun around so to avoid melee attacks from the Deth. But alas, the Deth Warrior kicked Randon away, so to prevent him from further damaging his sheild. Randon unleashed the surrounding electrical energy around his hands and blasted it towards the Deth. He could feel his MP getting weak, and it was quite exhausting. The shield was still active, though.

 

The Deth aimed his Gauntlet Gun at the group and fired rapid, green energy shots.

Angel whistled. "Nice. But try to be more careful." She laughed. Then she turned her attention back at the Deth.

 

It was time to put this monster towards its end. She shot as many Blast Powers she could at the Deth. When that became useless, she pulled out her sword.

 

"That's it! You're going down!!!" She began to run towards the Deth, with anger rising again.

Seeing that Angel was running towards the Deth, Solidus knew she would die and he couldn't let that happen. He knew she'd hate him for what he was about to do but she was too young to die. He quickly jumped in front of her but his armed out in front of her, preventing her from reaching her target. After a little struggle, Solidus nudged her backwards explained his actions. "Your not ready to take the Deth on yet. Your still young. A time for your revenge will come but not today, not while your vision is clouded by your hatred. Go inside and tell Cid to do a 180 degree turn on my signal. There's no way this thing can survive the fall at this hight.

 

"Everyone else go inside! We can't beat this thing using our swords and guns." Solidus ordered before stepping forward "I'll keep it busy. Now go! That's an order!"

Before Captain Solid barked his order to everyone, Randon brought himself up and pulled out his twin pistols. He dodged the green shots from the Deth's weapon, which was aiming at everyone.

 

Randon aimed his guns at the bad-guy and fired them rapidly. The shields energy was chaning into a red glow. The half-elf strafed right so to avoid further attacks from the Deth, while still keeping his aim and firing.

 

Atlast, one of Randon's bullets hit flesh. The Deth howled from the shot, and Randon could see vile green blood oozing from the wound. If he could, Randon would finish the beast off. But he ran out of bullets.

 

He deposited his guns, and followed the captain's orders. He ran straight to the hatch following everyone. The Deth was still standing and angry as hell. It charged at the others.

 

As soon as everyone was inside, the metal door was closed behind them and locked. Randon could hear the sounds of the angry Deth beating his hands against the door.

Angel bowed her head ashamed, when they all were inside the ship. "I'm sorry, Captain. But... they killed my parents! Wouldn't you do the same?"

 

She sat down, and leaned against the wall, crying. All that her family's been through... how could this happen?

 

The young girl shook her head, trying to fight the anger out of her head and soul. If revenge poisoned her mind... then what would happen then? Questions in her mind haunted her.

"Angel!" Randon barked. "Chin up, kid!" he placed his thumb underneith her chin to lift her head up straight. "If you want this thing killed, go straight to Cid and order him to spin this boat around! The rest of us here will keep hold of the door so to prevent this thing coming in!"

 

There was a loud bang against the door, and the firing of the Deth's weapon was heard. Randon had to guess that the metal was starting to get weaker!

 

"You hear me, kiddo? Understand?" he couldn't contact Cid because his transmission seemed to be jammed. Possibly caused by a beacon within the remains of the Fighter's ship.

The mountains was getting closer and closer. Eventually, the ship was flying over the trees and rocks.

 

Cid tried to make contact with the Wingless Eagle, but something seemed to Jam he's transmissions. He couldn't figure out what the cause was... he hoped the others were okay.

Angel nodded her head at Randon's suggestion. "Okay! I will." The young girl got up, and ran towards the cockpit.

 

When she got there, she saw Cid. They were heading towards the mountains. Angel shook Cid hard on the shoulders.

 

"Cid! We gotta turn this ship around! Captain's order!" She glanced behind her. The Deth sounded like he was almost breaking in.

 

Angel began to sweat. "Please, Cid!"

"Okay..." Souvi was shouting, "Let's analyze the situation: We can't contact the Angel. We can't see if Rueben's okay and there's an alive Deth on top of their airship. Have I forgotten something? Oh, of course, there's a huge Deth ship following us!" As Souvi complained, Rim was focused on his duties and trying to find means of getting out of that situation alive.

 

"I think it's the Deth crashed fighter proximity that's causing the jammer on the comm, Souvi" Rim said, calmly, "If we can blast the the Deth and his crashed shuttle, we might solve the jam and help our 'friends' as well."

 

Souvi raised an eyebrow. "Blast the Deth? Have you noticed that he's on the outer hull of the Angel? How do you... Oh. Nah, forget it. You're good, Rim, but even you would have problems targetting with such odds against."

 

Rim nodded. "Sure, it's difficult..." a smile appeared on his funny face, "But I would like to try it anyway. Remember, it's a good way to have my three bucks back." Souvi eyes widened. How to make the Angel crew understand that they're targeting the Deth and not them? What if they missed? The Eagle's batteries weren't strong enough to damage the Angel's hull badly, but they could fire back and that would mean the end. There was much at stake...

 

And Souvi loved that.

 

"All right." he conceded, "Turn 180º and do what you do best."

"Oh stuff this," Solidus said as he used some creates to help him a small window in the top of the wall. He kicked out the glass before crouching beside the newly formed hole. "No one is to follow me? Understood?" Not waiting for an answer,he rolled outside to engage the Deth.

 

"Hey you," Solidus shouted before looking at the damage down to the door. "It's time you got off my ship!" He warned before his rage began to build up. He called out with anger before energy began to build up in his body, it came to the point when the energy began to irradiate off him. Once the energy build up reached it's maximum, Solidus focused the energy into his gun. He called in anger "Feel my rage," Before pulling the trigger on his riffle. Several powerful shot fired from Solidus' rifle, each bullet containing a high amount of energy that caused great damage to the Deth's shields and the Deth was struck by the other effect of Solidus overdrive, the confussion. Solidus knew the confusion wouldn't last long but it bought his people more time.

"Damn!" Rim shouted. It was strange seeing him losing control. "What's it?" Souvi asked him. He breathed deeply before answering. "It seems a friend of ours has stepped in... Take a look." He showed a magnified view of the Angel outer hull. It was the same old guy Souvi saw at the Palace run-in. He was shooting at the tall dark figure.

 

"I think I can manage to target the Deth without harming him." Rim told Souvi. Souvi narrowed his eyes, his mind working intensily. "No... It may alert the Deth as well, but shoot a blast over thwir heads. If that guy is experienced as he looks, he'll get it and go inside."

 

Rim nodded and immediatly began targetting a random place over the airship. "Got it." He said. Two blasts emanated from the Eagle main batteries.

 

"Cross your fingers..." Souvi told Rim, "That is, if you still want your three bucks to stay with you."

"NO!" Solidus called out as he saw the Eagel fire on his ship in an attempt to destroy the Deth. He knew that would completely tear up the area and possibly damage other parts of the ship, something he couldn't allow. This ship meant too much to him to allow it to be tore to peaces by people who should be alleys. Fortunately the Angel's shields were able to protect it from the friendly fire, allowing Solidus to take a sigh of relief for a moment before his anger returned. "YOU SHOT MY SHIP AGAIN AND I WILL DESTROY YOU MYSELF!" He shouted at the other airship before remembering who he was fighting. He quickly called Cid in the comms and shouted "Cid! That 180 turn would be nice around about now!"

"Alright, alright..." Cid hushed at Angel. He gripped the steering wheel of the ship and made a sharp turn making 180 degrees. "Hold on to something!"

 

The turn was so sharp, the entire ship was leaning on a side. Outside on the hull of the Gliding Angel, the debris of the ship fell down to the earth. The Deth Warrior screamed, as it fell downwards.

 

But its cyborg arm latched onto the fencing of the ship. Eventually its grip grew weaker, and lost its hold. The Deth didn't made a loud, horrid scream as it fell downwards, awaiting its inevitable death.

 

At last, communications was back.

 

"Everyones okay... we're okay..." Randon spoke through his ear piece.

 

Cid sighed with relief. "Its over...". He grabbed the mouth piece of his pilot head set.

 

"Wingless Eagle, this is the Angel. We have eliminated the enemy... send us the coordinates of where we shall rendevous!"

Angel sat in the co-pilot seat beside Cid. Seeing that the Deth was gone was good. But she was upset that she never killed the brute.

 

"It's... it's gone. I could've killed that beast myself. After what the Deth did to my family..."

 

She shook her head, and glanced down. It was great that the team worked together and defeated the Deth Warriors. They were all okay too.

 

Then she remembered what her father told her. 'Vengeance is never the answer sometimes. If you have revenge in your heart, it might come back to you.' Angel sighed. What have she done?

 

She glanced at Cid. "Cid? Do you think... revenge is never the answer?"

Cid glanced at Angel, the question was quite an interesting one.

 

"Revenge can be a terrible, terrible thing. If you furfill it, it won't ease the pain. And if you do nothing, it will haunt you!"

 

Cid punched a few buttons on the command console. He looked outside of the windshield of the cockpit, of the view of the mountains.

 

"But you must always follow your heart. Do what you believe is right, and the outcome shall influence your future. Not just yours, but others around you..."

 

Cid wasn't usualy this philosophical, although he believed himself to be somewhat of a "guide", who always gave advice to whoever seeks it.

Angel smiled faintly. Tears formed in her eyes, but didn't come out yet. She finally understood the real meaning of revenge.

 

The young girl sighed, and glanced at Cid, and smiled again. "Thanks, Cid. I really needed to ask someone that. I know you be the cockpit and all... but I figured that you'd be the person to help me. So... thank you."

 

Angel leaned on her seat, resting her head, and looking at the view.

[[i'm gone for a few days, and a whole new thing happend. @.@ Nah, its fine.]]

 

After the entire incident, Errol was walking past toward where the cockpit was, after seeing Angel rush off. He could obviously see how upset he was, and well, maybe he could help her? After all, he did miss the whole fight before by falling asleep.

 

The White mage was by the cockpit, and looked outside the window. It looked really pretty out there, and...so warm. The Airship was very cold in essence.

 

He put his hand on Angels shoulder, and gave her a smile. "You okay?"

"X=394º. Y=92º. Mountaintop is the reference." Souvi said on the comm. That 180º turns showed that the Angel had some turn prowess. As well a skilled pilot. "You'll notice that this leads to a particularly large gorge bottom, but with the Deth around we better be on safe side."

 

The ship was already over the mountains, flying at a low altitude, to avoid any Deth tracking at their ship. The idea of a meeting on such a dark place was unpleasant, in fact, sharing knoledge of the orb was as well, but he needed the prince and he would what was necessary.

((What the heck... I go off and spend time with my bff over the course of a few days, and when I finally decide to get back on all this has happened?!?!))

 

Rueben looked down at his feet... and looked over at the Prince.

 

"Souvi doesn't always pick the BEST of places to meet." Rueben said, to everyone in the cockpit. "He always feels like mountains are the best meeting places... even when they are so cold. However... stick with Souvi and the freezing cold doesn't really bother you." Rueben added onto the end to lighten the mood.

 

Wonderbread snickered a bit, but went back to being silent.

 

"You guys really need to lighten up... be HAPPY! The Deth are gone... for now..." Rueben said, grimly.

((Whats not to like about, Shan? We are meerly progressing the scene, and little has happened since our encounter with the Deth))

 

"Copy that..." Cid responded to Souvi's directions. He activated the navigational charts on the monitor, and punched in the coordinates of the rendevous point.

 

Cid switched it to Auto-Pilot mode, and Randon entered the cockpit.

 

"Well'p, we definatly won't be seeing that thing again..." he said, as he walked down the small steps of the cockpit towards the end of the room where he looked out through the wind shield. "So, when are we meeting our "friends"?"

 

"I've plotted the coordinates and set the ship on auto-pilot." Cid answered. "We shall arive there in no more than a few minutes..."

 

Already, Randon could see the gorge in sight.

[Ctrl Alt Del]

"Rim, put the Eagle on auto-pilot and come with me." A seemingly tired Souvi said. "I need some help with that orb." Rim answered with an "Aye" and did as Souvi said. They walked outside the ship's cabin and went over to the Cargo Hold. To their surprise, the orb was shining brightly blue. More than they ever seen.

 

"Well, that's unexpected." Souvi commented, his eyes on the fragment. "Any theories?"

 

Rim shook his head lightly. "Nope. Not one. Perhaps it has to do with the whole fight. Maybe the mountains scenery. Or someone recharged it's batteries when we weren't looking."

 

The young captain approached the orb. "Let's see if I can get it to show me something now..." He touched the orb and again the runes of Zhenertian showed up. "Damn!" He breathed deeply and said to Rim. "Guess we'll need that snot-nosed brat for this one. Care to give me a help lifting this thing?"

Solidus groaned as he sat down to regain his energy. When Cid flipped the Angel, Solidus had to hang onto the mast of the ship and then climb down when his ship was turned the right side around. A lot energy had went into his special attack, and then the whole clinging thing took the rest of the energy away. He waited a couple of minutes before activating the comm system. "So what are we going next?"

Angel turned, and looked at Errol. Then she smiled.

 

"Yes. I'm fine now. Thank you." She sighed. "Guess that... revenge can be a cruel thing for me and others as well. If I continue this... then my revenge might hurt you guys."

 

Angel decided to find Rueben. She hoped that he and his friend was okay. When she found him, she ran to him and hugged him. "Rueben! Wonderbread! You guys are all right!"

 

She smiled brightly as she closed her eyes, continuing to hug Rueben.

((Hey... just to let ya'll know... this will probably be my last post til Christmas Break... I've got Semester Exams starting friday... so I'll be spending all my free time studying or Friday at the Basket ball game, because I've, along with Chamber Choir and Concert Choir, gotta sing the national anthem... plus I'm really ticked at some girl on Facebook... I don't even know who it was because she wrote in my Honesty Box))

 

Rueben looked at Angel, then gently kissed her on the cheek.

 

"We're fine... nothing happened to us." Rueben said, then he looked at Wonderbread.

 

Wonderbread was staring at the floor with big, sad puppy dog eyes.

 

"What's the matter?" Rueben asked.

 

"Nothing... I'm just a little... saddened by the fact that the orb was stolen from the treasure vaults..." Wonderbread said.

Angel squinted her eyes at Wonderbread. The fact that the orb was stolen was a little shocking.

 

"That's impossible! Who could've taken it?!" She looked at the boys, wondering where that orb could be.

 

She sighed. "Great. Now the mission's failed. Boy, the Captain's not gonna like this."
