thermaltakes stuff it pretty cheap if you do it right, There Refurb Store has alot of there gear right around half price. sadly I didnt discover it until after I purchased my Armor and Tsunami cases for my newest machines.

Never trust those PSU's that come with the cases, they'll torch your board and ruin your day.

Easy day at work. Nothing to report.

Walked after leaving work... but since it's been almost a month since I've had a really long exercise session, I took it a bit easy, and did an abbreviated one (for me, anyways...)

Cat pushed me over the edge today though...

Came out of my shower to find a pile of poop on the living room floor near the front door.

Went out; bought a collar; had a name tag made up; checked the date on the last Frontline application and made sure it was still good for a few more weeks; and now she's an outdoor cat.

I'll give this a few weeks,.. and if the soiling the carpet situation doesn't change or improve when she's indoors... then I will seriously start looking into non-euthanizing shelters and let somebody else take a crack at her.

She seems to enjoy being outside, though. I hope this helps. I'm beyond my wit's end with this damn animal.

That's alotta pig!

Another wild one at work!

This week was almost like having an additional week of vacation... without taking any more time off. Nice!

Dave Brubeck tomorrow.

More walking after work tonight. I have a lot of missed time to catch up on with that...

Fell asleep almost as soon as I got home, though.

Cat is still a pain in the ass: Stayed outside for several hours this morning... only to come back in and pee on the rug. Dammit!

I'll give a few more weeks to figure it out... but if no improvement, then I give up.

no offence to animal lovers. But to get my cat to stop doing that, I'd usualy grab em by the scruff and rub their face in their own crap, smack em a few times, and toss em into their respectful litter box.

not the nicest thing to do, but to be honest after a while, they get used to the idea and they'll stop

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work with this cat.

First: She was really abused by her former owners, and the litter thing already stems from that.

Plus: She CAN use the litter. She has in the past. She just often chooses not to. Usually when we've done something to upset her world in some way. Make her mad, and you can be sure to see a puddle on the floor shortly afterwards.

Smacking her around won't change anything... probably only serve to make things worse. When the people who bought her tried it, she left their house and never went back inside.

Yeah... I think putting her outdoors first thing in the morning, and leaving her out there as long as possible (all day when I'm home,.. until I have to leave for work on other days...) is the thing to try now.

If she has to go, she'll be forced to do it outdoors. Hopefully she'll eventually associate one with the other, and start to ask to go outside when the urge hits.

That's the plan, anyways.

If it doesn't work out in a couple of more weeks, I've learned that the local shelter doesn't euthanize. I'll hand her over, and make a big donation, as well as any food and supplies I have.

It's sad, because she is finally showing signs of being affectionate and fun... but I can't spend all my non-working hours doing housework cleaning up those tyes of messes anymore. I've hit the wall as far as that goes. It's been more than 9 months. I feel I've been more-than-patient; and I've tried every recommendation I have read or heard about from behaviorists on trouble cats,.. all to no avail.

Easy day at work yesterday.

Brubeck is ancient... but he still plays his ass off!

The show today was cancelled. I don't know what I'm going to do with a whole unexpected day off!

Sleep it away, most likely...

EDIT:

Got my answer: Free tickets to see Rush in concert tonight. Woot!

Sometimes it's nice having connections in the concert biz. :D

Now,.. if only I didn't have to be at work at 7 am tomorrow morning... :(

I hear ya zarg, for the last 3 weeks some of my co-workers and I have been going to the local bar after work on fridays. Last time I bought a drink for myself and paid for the drinks of two other people. Then the HOT bartender girl bought all of us two drinks each, then I bought two more.

I was quite lit up by the time I went home.. at 5:30pm

Concert was AMAZING!!! Seats were great, too!

Got maybe 3 and 1/2 hours sleep... then spent all day yesterday in a "brainstorming" meeting to improve our department. Painful.

Oh well... it was easy. Just sit on my ass all day, bitching about work... I can do that! :D

Got home last night and was sound asleep before 8 pm. Never woke back up.

Work was relaxed, but actually fairly productive.

After work, I went out and bought a pile of CDs. (Mostly Yes, Tull, and Iron Maiden albums that I didn't have already... but also a Credence Clearwater compilation, and a Steve Hackett CD.)

Tomorrow will be our last chill day for a while... then it's back to non-stop concert craziness for a couple of weeks. Yippee!

Yesterday: Blah.

Only way to sum it up...

Today:

I have come to dread the phrases: "Rolling Rally" and "Duck Boat Parade" and the implications they will have on my morning commute to work. I'm screwed any way you slice it.

I have to be at work at 11am,.. and I should bring my car all the way, since we might not get out of there before the subway stops running.

But many of the streets around there will be mobbed, if not shut down completely. And I'll probably have a bitch of a time getting a spot.

But then, things will be worse if I try to take the subway in... so I lose no matter what.

Grrr...
