Hello Doccer.

Wow. I hadn’t seen those tour videos until today. What a beautiful ship! And what a large propulsion system it has ;) I can’t wait to see it stuffed with placeables and characters and really brought to life.

I can just imagine the medic in the medical room;

“What? Me? I was… working... err, yes - working! Just, err, checking the patient’s vitals on this here screen! I absolutely was not browsing starBay or tracking investments of any kind... What I mean to say is... What? What do you mean ‘dead’?! ...err... Well, yes! Of course the patient is dead! What I mean is I was checking his vitals from before he died – for future reference!”

I am very excited to explore this module when it’s done. I love sniffing out every corner of every room (usually looking for LOOTS!) so very little detail escapes me :p

That bed is definitely a bit big... unless you’re planning to bring home a Hutt.

Thanks for taking the time to record videos to show us, Doc! Especially thanks for the voice over. Though I must confess, it was a little distracting ;)

@SH & Drunk; I would imagine a head-desk animation would be easier ^.^ Just ActionPlayAnimation a treat injury at 3x speed, then interrupt at desk level. Rinse and repeat!

m(O O)m . . . . .m(_ _)m . . . . . . m(x O)m . . . . . . m(_ _)m . . . . . . m(x x)m. . . . . . m(_ _)m . . . . . . m(> <)m !!!

Hello all,

I know, I know, I need to make these visits more frequent, I am doing the best I can though :). Things should be looking up in the future however, as it seems that my schedule is set up now so that I will have another one of those awesome spurts of mod progress. Anyways, here are some screenshots of the cantina on Coruscant.

You will notice in the screenshots that I have changed the sky, the one i was working with before only allowed me to do a 180 degree view, and i needed a 360 degree panorama, so i figured i would change the sky to look more sunsetty and give it that full effect.

I will be posting a video detailing the importance of this place story-wise, and the mechanics of each planet. It will also show how I got the air traffic to finally work ;).

Anyway, here are the screenshots:

Money shot, Its a bit dark in there I know. Lighting is one of the more frustrating things to get just right with new modules.

Booth seating, for all you stinking romantics.

corcantina2.jpg

Big windows for a big view :)

corcantina3.jpg

Coruscant is known for its beautiful sunsets...

A nice little platform for your ship to land on.

I'll post more updates when they come.

Keep it real,

Nice to see some new shots Doc.

Indeed lighting is a pain to do right in new modules, hopefully Magnus will soon

give us the good news!

No idea when thats going to happen...

Anyway, looking forward to the video, interesting way of showing the modules.

As it doesn't spoil to much of whats going to happen and be in it.

Here are some screenshots of the Trade Courter, which is directly adjacent to the Cantina.

There are the trade tables, there will be plenty of npcs in here.

I actually tried adding more clouds, but the effect is somewhat shot, i think part of it has to do with the windows cutting them off :(. It also gets a bit stretched on the canvas, but it looks a lot better once you get closer to the windows, like the screenshot on the previous page.

Here is a better view of one of the skybox images.

If I ask how such a thing is feasible (I'm referring to the skybox), will I even believe the answer? You couldn't have drawn that from scratch...

Goodness no haha. No that skybox was made using a digitally mastered (by me) sunset background, behind some very arduously placed Coruscant buildings which were courtesy of the people down at Sci-Fi 3d who so graciously let me use their models. The sweat, the tears, and the kicked in walls were all mine though :). It was a very difficult task creating a panorama out of these. 3ds Max is a great tool, but it can be sooooo frustrating sometimes. Especially when building models for things without official tools :).
