Taak Farst
For some of you that have seen Hitman. What are your thoughts and opinions? I thought it was brilliant. Timothy Olyphant perfectly suited Agent 47. The acting was incredibly well executed. I especially liked the Hotel part near the start of it when he switched on the fire alarm and shot thru lift. Inyri
I saw it before it opened, and while I was a little bit drunk at the time I have to say it was exactly what I was expecting: a video game movie. Hardly brilliant, hardly well acted, but entertaining and precisely what it was meant to be. And yes, he was perfect as Agent 47. I also have a soft spot for Dougray Scott. <
Lantzen
A great movie, but not a great Hitman movie. They butchered the story, no mention to the clone. Instead they were orpahnes, that annoyed me pretty much. The story in the Hitman games is about you being a clone, and that they just took away. And i really didnt think the actor suited as 47, he was to small in his body size ^^ But as a action movie it was very good, but i can't understand why you base movies on games when they don't care about the game story. Marius Fett
i can't understand why you base movies on games when they don't care about the game story. That's what I said after I saw the Mortal Kombat film...
Inyri
Are you trying to suggest that Mortal Kombat has a plot...?
Corinthian
Actually, yes, it does. I wouldn't say it's anything GOOD, but it does have a degree of a plot. Much like Dead or Alive and Virtua Fighter. There are two kinds of Video Game Movies, from what I've seen - the typical kind, which basically ignore the facts of the game, and Uwe Boll movies. They also ignore the facts of the game, but the difference is, there is no redeeming quality to a Uwe Boll movie.
igyman
I think the Hitman movie was good. There was definitely room for improvement though, especially regarding 47's missions. They should have been more stealthy, like when he drugs that guy in the rest room and quickly and silently kills his bodyguards. Olyphant was pretty good as 47, but I think the original voice actor (on whom 47's appearance was based) David Bateson would have been better. Considering this is a video game based movie I never expected that much of a plot, but it was pretty good and added a bit of mystery. As for Dead or Alive, which I recently had the misfortune to watch - I think that was actually worse than Uwe Boll movies, which are all rock bottom. Mortal Kombat 1 at least tried to prioritize the plot over the fighting, but then came MK: Annihilation and "F"-ed it up completely. It's been a long long time since I watched Street Fighter, but as far as I can remember it was a watchable video game based movie. As far as I know so far the only successful video game based movie franchises are Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The point of all this is that nobody should expect too much from a video game based movie. That way you can't be too disappointed when you see one. Marius Fett
It's the same with the Tekken movie... They ignored every character apart from Kazuya, Heihachi, Jun, Lee, Nina, Anna and Jack. Michelle and Ganryu had about 2 mins (if that) and the others were onscreen for all of 5 seconds. They didn't even have Devil!
Boba Rhett
Did I see the same movie as you people? I couldn't even get all the way through the whole thing. And I've sat through the Star Wars Holiday Special. Twice. Without Rifftrax.

Jvstice
hadn't played the games before, but the movie did get me to go out and get the 360 hitman game.
Miltiades
Action was okay, acting and everything else wasn't very good, IMO. Haven't played a Hitman game, though. Well, not for more than 10 minutes...

Mace MacLeod
Did I see the same movie as you people? I couldn't even get all the way through the whole thing. I didn't think it was even that bad, really. I rented it hoping for a laugh-at-how-bad-it-is kind of movie, but it didn't even hit that bar. It was just...sorta there on the screen. 1) Timothy Olyphant was too young and slight for the role. Instead of steely-eyed menace, he just looked vaguely bemused. 2) Acting...? Did I see people praising acting...? 3) I got more entertainment out of just one level from any of the three Hitman games I've played than out of the movie. Not bad enough to be remarkable in any way, but wow, it sure wasn't good. Watching it I was reminded of the South Park episode that tells the story of the Mormons. Dum-dum-dum-dum-dum. Aash Li
Wow you guys are really harsh. lol Maybe Im just simple-minded when it comes to movies... but I can watch a movie and enjoy it, even if the acting/plot/sfx/whatever are subpar. Do I think its not a great movie because of those? Yes, but unless its really and truly abysmal, then I will have enjoyed it. Maybe I just enjoyed it because I never played the game? Olyphant was good in the role... his head looks wierd bald, like they had made him a bald cap instead of shaving his head... That was my gripe about it. The girl could have looked less trashy, but she wasnt too bad. The story was pretty good, it had twists in it, enough violence and action that you dont fall asleep. The ending could have been better, it left me wondering... ...who was out there still wanting the girl dead that 47 took out the sniper to keep her safe. Lantzen
Maybe I just enjoyed it because I never played the game? Probaly. And like i said, it was a good movie, but not a good Hitman movie. Kotor spoiler, it's a comparison To take away that they are clones is kind of taking away the part that you are Revan if they ever did a Kotor movie but still have the rest of the story the same
Aash Li
Clone of who though? And if they dont explain who the original was, wouldnt that open up more plot holes or questions that dont get filled in? Making them orphans and stolen children I think worked better for a 94 minute movie.
Lantzen
And thats why this statment still hold true "And like i said, it was a good movie, but not a good Hitman movie." The clone thing is that they took DNA from multiple persons so they could create a superhuman, i don't remember the details from the game but this wikipedia link does ^^ Look under creation if you want to know
