EnderWiggin
Every day I'm going to post more about Michael Phelps, who won his third gold last night in the 200 Freestyle. Easily. I almost feel bad for Peter Vanderkaay though. _EW_
Commander Obi-Wan
Kudos to Michael Phelps. That's really all I have to say, since I can't say much about how well the Canadians are doing.
mimartin
That's really all I have to say, since I can't say much about how well the Canadians are doing. You can always say, wait till 2010 in Vancouver. Michael Phelps is amazing. I really hope he gets the 8.
DarthAve
I almost feel bad for Peter Vanderkaay though. I love that almost every race he's in, he's called "The Other American." xD Poor guy
Rev7
Michael Phelps is amazing. I really hope he gets the 8. Indeed. He is an awesome swimmer and he deserves it. He has worked hard to get to where he is.
DarthAve
You know what I like best about Michael Phelps? The fact that he's also gifted in telekinesis.
Sigundr
You know what I like best about Michael Phelps? The fact that he's also gifted in telekinesis. Absolutely fantastic photo. When I went to bed I heard the commentators saying that USA was going to get the Silver. Hell, at least it's a medal. I can't wait for the Judo competition ( hope I haven't missed it). The Japanese are going to destroy the world in that sport.
tk102
I am so sick of NBC delaying "live" video to the west coast and otherwise inhibiting streaming video for those who are not customers of their partner subscribers. It's insulting to hear my local newscast talk about Phelps winning his 3rd medal when I already know he's won his 5th. The National Broadcasting Company should reconsider any critique of they have of China's control over the media. They're doing a good job strangling the flow of live coverage. Yes I know NBC paid a fortune to cover the Olympics but do they really think that they're going lose any money from streaming all the events? If us fans could watch any and every event on the nbcolympics.com, the excitement would build, not diminish. We'd still tune into television for prime time events and the unknown athletes in smaller sports could be connected to their fanbase. It's a shame. Canada's CBC is a slightly better alternative in that they don't appear to be blocking live video for Canadians. I really expected better given the advancements of broadband technologies since 2004. TVChannelsFree.com's Alriyadiah Saudi Sport TV2 channel is currently let me watch Russia v. Kazakhstan women's volleyball. Truly live. I don't care that I can't understand the announcer -- this is the authentic viewing experience that I've been trying to find since Aug 9.
Sigundr
Yeah, broadcasting companies have always been snooty about that and it ticks me off. Kudos to tk102 for the well deserved rant. Get to it NBC!
Prime
Canada's CBC is a slightly better alternative in that they don't appear to be blocking live video for Canadians. The CBC is quite a bit better in that regard. I was in Miami last week and was also frustrated by the delayed coverage. Plus, they know there are athletes other than Americans, right? It was good to get home and back to CBC coverage.
EnderWiggin
When I went to bed I heard the commentators saying that USA was going to get the Silver. Hell, at least it's a medal. What event are we talking about? Girls gymnastics got silver, but Phelps gained his 4th and 5th golds last night. Which takes him to 11 golds overall, making him the best Olympian ever. Oh, and the 4x200M free relay broke 7 minutes. Phelps swam in 5 finals and has broken 5 world records. I'm hoping for a perfect Olympics. _EW_
Tysyacha
For me, the highlight of the Summer Olympics is the gymnastics, both men's and women's. Thus, my favorite highlights of the Beijing Games so far have been Alexander Artemev's performance on the pommel horse and Nastia Liukin's on the balance beam. WOW! I do feel sorry for Alicia Sacramone, though. First of all, she fell off the beam, and then she fell right on her patukis in floor exercise. We won the silver anyway! YEAH! Shawn Johnson, I think, is kind of a prima donna. I wonder how many hours she must spend on her hair and makeup in the morning instead of her gymnastics. I can't wait until the all-around! YAAY Another gymnastics fan. Artemev was so amazing on that pommel horse, I originally wasn't gonna watch men's cause I thought they'd fail without him on the horse. Sure, he falls sometimes, but everyone does. Heck, if he hadn't fell a couple years back during a Tyson American Cup, I probably wouldn't like him so much. I can't wait to see him tonight in the all around. And Nastia was absolutly perfect on the uneven bars last night. It was so amazing. I kind of agree with the Shawn Johnson thing, but then again, she has room to be a little prima donnaish considering she is number one in, like the world. I think the thing about Shawn Johnson that people don't like is that her gymnastics arn't as pretty to watch cause she's short and stubby, where as Nastia is long and lean and is verry graceful in her movements, which makes her stuff beautiful and entertaining. Heck, Nastia's legs are longer than I am tall.

Rinku
I hope Phelps wins the 200IM because Lochte is the only person who can have a chance of beating Phelps. But I believe that Phelps will win and go perfect this olympics. Can not wait for track and field 100m dash "Race of the fastest men in the World", 110m hurdles MY event is going to be awesome. Rabish Bini
We don't dominate in water polo, silly. Yes, we beat China, but teams like Hungary will demolish us. _EW_ Don't forget Croatia, we are one of the Worlds best. Onto Phelps, he is a freak of nature. He's too good for the Olympics, and should be given an event of his own, where he verses robots, which still aren't quick enough to beat him. Rinku
^Yeah if you put him up against genetically altered dolphins he would still win.
Salzella
Phelps is scary. he doesn't swim - he glides. his butterfly made me weep tears of unadulterated joy.

DarthAve
Yang Wei won the men's all around... JHor got 8th, while Sasha got 12th. Still, the American's had the privilage of taking a picture without shirts and becoming the objects of my affection for eternity. Let's hope Shawn and Nasti do better tonight! Rinku
WOW!!! Phelps is the best, DID YOU SEE HOW CLOSE THAT WAS!?!?!?!? Cavic's coach is evidentially filing a appeal saying that the touch boards are wrong about the placing in the 100m butterfly. I have seen the slow version of the final part of the race from every angle (they only have showed it one million times) and it is evident fro the underwater that Phelps just out-touched Cavic.
