Aash Li
Maybe they think it failed because they took too many artistic liberties with the setting? And then added that wierd vending machine robot... I dunno, I liked it for what it was. Megan Fox looked pretty good in the movie too.
Corinthian
Onoes, Artistic Liberties with the TRANSFORMERS setting. The horrifying part is somebody out there actually takes that setting seriously.
Cygnus Q'ol
Megan Fox looked pretty good in the movie too. She definately lived up to her name in this movie. Could we get just a little more sweat on her belly please? I liked that scorpion thing they first ran into in the desert. Can't remember all their names but, he was awesome. I know Megatron was a gun in the cartoon and everything, but I'm not mad at them for changing that. I find it better that the main antagonist doesn't have to rely on another to do his business. The cartoon was cool, loved it, but for a action/Sci-fi blockbuster he had to be big, nasty and capable of mega-destruction.

The_Catto
I think that I read somewhere about Unicron being in it as well. But...... Without Orson Wells for Unicron, this movie = GIGANTIC FAIL!!!! The first one wasn't too bad. But the whole Bay not wanting Frank Welker for Megatron in the first one because he wasn't "hip enough" or some crap like that, he lost pretty much all my respect. Frank Welker IS Megatron for feck sake! Like ... bah!!!!
RedHawke
I sat down to watch the first one with all the negative things I had heard in my mind (No Soundwave? WTH? Harrumph!)... the movie then played... I watched... and came out of it thinking 'that was pretty damn awesome'. If the sequel holds up it will be too. You knew it was inevitable with Starscream taking off during the end credits anyway.

Frank Welker IS Megatron for feck sake! Like ... bah!!!! He called in Frank Welker to do the voice and found that his voice didn't fit the feel of the movie, and to be honest the original Megatron's voice is not intimidating at all. Its hilarious. It wasn't that it wasn't "hip enough", its that his voice downright sucks. You can have your nostalgia, but don't confuse nostalgia for good. Stop getting caught up on who is doing voice acting and be happy someone cares about that series enough to make a serious movie about it. Are you going to mention how angry you are that Megatron is no longer a pistol? Oh please. You are setting yourself up for disappointment.
Prime
Frank Welker can do any voice you like. They should have just asked him to do a different one.

My guess is there were personal disputes that caused them to be unable to make an agreement.

True_Avery
Frank Welker can do any voice you like. They should have just asked him to do a different one. If he had done a different voice, then what would be the point of hiring him in the first place? Seems to defeat the purpose. Not saying that he wouldn't be able to due the voice. He did Megatron in some of the prequel stuff to the movie and the video game. But it didn't fit the movie Megatron, so he didn't get the job. Like I said: pointless thing to get up in arms about. Astrotoy7
Oh, so you're one of those guys. Damnit Prime and your Canadian Calmness!! Let me say it then... awww, did Michael Bay rape your childhood too?? I have to admit, I havent seen the movie yet... I apologise in advance Prime I'll get around to it one day I just yelled out "HOLY CRAP IT'S BERT =D". Really loud. That is like so awesome!! I didnt know he was in it too. \o/ mtfbwya
EnderWiggin
Theatrical Performance Total US Gross: - $319,246,193 International Gross: - $389,026,388 Worldwide Gross: - $708,272,581 Home Market Performance US DVD Sales: - $275,222,865 Yes.. a travesty. This movie failed so much it only took in close to a billion dollars. Lame. source I for one, despite Michael Bay's involvement, thought it was a pretty good film. Corinthian said it best though Yeah, I on-demand rented it. I didn't think it was too much of a failure either Of course, I'm not a diehard fan like some others here. _EW_
Prime
If he had done a different voice, then what would be the point of hiring him in the first place? Seems to defeat the purpose.Well, he is largely considered the best in the business, so I guess the point would be that they could get exactly the kind of voice they were going for. But he has so few lines anyway it really didn't matter, unlike Optimus.
The_Catto
I just thought it would have been a little better to hear the Megatron that most of us here grew up listening to. He doesn't have to be threatening sounding. Sure, he's the leader of the Decepticons, but he doesn't have to kill you with the sinister sounds of his voice. His actions depict how evil he really is. Meh. I'll go and see the sequel. If it has Ratchet in it, I'm content
DeadYorick
I probably will see this movie, out of lack of anything better to do. I would only actually plan ahead to see when they make Transformers: The Movie into a live action film. It was really the only Transformers media I actually liked. The_Catto
Haha, that would be awesome. I just hope they will take out "The Touch," cause .. well .. let's face it, that song ... that was just ... Urgh ... Not the right song.

Tommycat
Megatron hasn't been a P38 in a long time. More recently he's been a tank. So I didn't expect him to be a pistol. Well let me say this, I'm a GM fan, but the overuse of GM vehicles as the good guys ticked me off. Bumblebee was a bug not a Camaro. Don't get me wrong I love the Camaro. I like the new Camaro too. I just don't like Bumblebee as a Camaro.
