Endorenna
Okey-dokey, now that I've officially started the Trekkie Trend, I figured I'd go ahead and post this thread. Who's your favorite--um--engineer! Don't forget to say why you like him/her! (and shoot the other one(s) out of a torpedo tube ) PS: I'm rooting for snide remarks about one of the most annoying characters in all five series...(hint hint hint) I name no names...it's a gamble voting on this thread... Chevron 7 locke
I like O'brian. he's smart, and he's irish!
The Doctor
This one is tough for me, as the Chief Engineer of each series always tends to be in my top three favourite characters for the show. B'Elanna had serious spunk, so I'd have to tie her with Geordi for first place. I mean, come on - a blind man who taught a robot how to paint? That's art, right there. Scotty takes a very close second. "It's green." XD Trip is up there too, though I can't really explain why. He's just... likeable, in my opinion. I dunno. Miles did very little for me, as was the way most DS9 characters. I mean, he went from a background transporter guy to chief engineer on one of the most tactically important stations in the Federation? Bit of a stretch, to be honest. Adavardes
Geordi LaForge. Why? Well, for one, the character was awesome, the development was well-devised, AND,
Chevron 7 locke
I laughed so hard when i saw that! Geordi is a very close second for me, he's just that cool
Boba Rhett
The God**** Scotty. HELLO COMPUTER.
Astor
Scotty, also for the reason Rhett stated, that, and 'Up your shaft' from Search for Spock. But I love O'Brian as well. Why? He's not an officer. He represents the 'lower decks', the 'common man' as it were.
True_Avery
Scotty! Also, another Trek thread?
Darth_Yuthura
Miles O'Brian. He and Jullian Bashier were actually the first two on the show to develop a friendship. Most of the other characters got along and may have been friends, but that rarely got to the screen. Throughout the series, you watched these two characters develop as individuals and friends. Most of the other choices were a bit two-dimensional and not portrayed as much different from the other characters.
SW01
Scotty Scotty QFE Scotty! Nothing more need be said. Relics was a great TNG episode for one reason, y'know! Followed by LaForge and O'Brian. Both were great characters, and as Darth Yuthura said, O'Brian's interaction with Bashir expanded the character, but Scotty, for whatever reason, was more likeable. Maybe it was the false Scottish accent? Also, another Trek thread? The more, the better!
jrrtoken
Definitely Scotty. Geordi come a close second, all because of his awesome visor.
stingerhs
Geordi ftw!! Scotty comes in really darned close to second, though. that makes the one TNG episode where Scotty and Geordi work together just that much more special.
GarfieldJL
Geordi comes in first with Scotty not far behind, it was a really tough choice between the two.
mimartin
Every time I saw Geordi La Forge on the TNG, I would think what is Kunta Kinte doing on the Enterprise. While LeVar Burton did a wonderful job as La Forge I never could get past his role in Roots. It is LeVar Burton own fault as he did magnificent work in Roots. Scotty is the first and will always have a special place, but I went with Torress. I just like the internal conflict between a half human and Klingon. For me I had the opposite problem because I hadn't seen Roots until after I saw TNG and it was like how the heck did Geordi end up in the 18th-19th century. Scotty is the first and will always have a special place, but I went with Torress. I just like the internal conflict between a half human and Klingon. While he is the first and has his special place, he did pass the torch to Geordi in the episode "Relics".

Astor
Whaaaaaaaat!? That's--that's detrimental to Star Trek history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it's detrimental to Star Trek. The sooner people realise it's not actually in Star Trek, the better. Beam Me Up, Scotty
CommanderQ
Ahh, well, it's good to clear that up. I was under a false-impression!! GGRRR! Though not said in the series, it may be just as famous nonetheless....
