irishmile Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Its a religion.... Ok for a serious answer on how they are made. It depends on who you are asking... but I use Photoshop CS3, an Intuos3 pen and tablet, caffeine because I tend to neglect sleep and a lot of patients.. I also use back rubs from my wife from long periods of time huddled over my tablet and staring at a monitor from about 4 inches away. I also sometimes use PainterIX but I like photoshop better... Some of the stuff on here has been made using original concept art from the original artists, some have been made by using various filters and smoothing, while others have been recreated or repainted.
SyntheticGerbil Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I also use back rubs from my wife from long periods of time huddled over my tablet and staring at a monitor from about 4 inches away. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fealiks Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 back rubs from my wife Cool, where can I get one of those? A back rub, not a wife. Although... Also, could someone give me a hand with this? I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be a feather or a hand or what pointing to the International House of Mojo (the white thing attached to the sign): Any ideas?
gos Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 so you can't remake em without Intuos3 pen and tablet? look at my avatar i made this pic but i use the paper and then i scan it on my PC then i color it on Adobe photoshop CS4 but my question is how do you make it shiny like that
Laserschwert Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 ... and voodoo. Don't forget the voodoo-part.
Fealiks Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Voodoo is just a joke. Which pictures were you referring to?
Edward van Helgen Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Also, could someone give me a hand with this? I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be a feather or a hand or what pointing to the International House of Mojo (the white thing attached to the sign): Any ideas? It looks like a wing to me.
Fealiks Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Yeah, that's what I was thinking, like an Angel's wing...
irishmile Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 yeah a wing maybe I could never figure it out.... a wing is an odd choice though.
irishmile Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 so you can't remake em without Intuos3 pen and tablet? Of course you can I was just listing some of the things I use... I even implied I wouldn't assume to know what mediums others here use.
Tower Five Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Now I think of it, I've never played Leisure Suit Larry in my life. I recall the sequels getting horrible scores in Amiga magazines of the day.
SyntheticGerbil Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 i never played that half ass game But doesn't it go with the "half ass" joke picture?
ThunderPeel2001 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Yeah, that's what I was thinking, like an Angel's wing... An angel's wing?! Surely it's more like the torn off wing of a seagull or something? I mean, we're talking voodoo here.
LordTrilobite Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I concur with ThunderPeel, seagull is much more logical. Also, if you look closely at the screenshot, it looks like it's nailed on the sign.
SyntheticGerbil Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 It's probably a chicken wing left over from the first Gabriel Knight, I would imagine. Once I went to New Orleans and there was just tons of chicken guts and blood scattered down every street. If not for all the tits, it would have been an absolute hellish nightmare.
SyntheticGerbil Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Tits like these? Ah yes, that beautiful song that emanated throughout the air as I stepped in puddles of blood.
Laserschwert Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 Great! BUT: You do realize that the low-res Guybrush is squashed, right? (the game was at 320x200, but stretched to a 4:3 resolution when displayed) If you use him as a guide you have to stretch him by 120% vertically. Other than that: Fantastic!
