Disbeliever's crazy project!

Hey, I don't know if any of ya'll ever noticed this, but there are 2 sound files named "mus_area_slehey" and "mus_bat_slehey". If you are trying to make Sleheyron like it was origonally going to be, that music might be able to set an atmosphere....

I believe that music was actually used instead on the star forge.

As an update:

I am nearly done the next area. I keep changing how I want the actual walk area to be. Once that is done I will render screens. This next area will be pretty different.

Alrighty everyone. Update time.

For one, I apologize for taking longer than anticipated to finish this next area. It seems I have hit a bit of a rut motivation wise, as it seems I have lost allot of support for this mod for one reason or another. Such is life I suppose.

Big thanks to the one person other than myself it seems is pushing to get this mod done. Juansaman has been doing just about as much work as me on this project. He has been working on a storyline, making detailed diagrams, trying to recruit scripters that I had originally asked for etc. He has been a huge help, so thanks.

These are the final 3d renders of the Poor Area, that has the slums/ghettos to house slaves, the factory and the entrance to the mines. Getting it all in game should not be that hard, I believe I already have a working walkmesh. This will be several posts as I have many screens:

You enter the poor area, and see in the distance some volcanic mountains popping up, as well as the mine entrance carved into the mountain.

Inside the slums/ghettos. The guard tower to your left has guns constantly pointed inwards, in case of revolt. You see cages to make examples of slaves, as well as makeshift tents set up to sleep.

Cages and tents:

Buildings are crumbling and in poor state, while people makes fires to keep warm:

More slum buildings crumbling:

Outside of slum area, more cages to deter slaves from misbehaving. 2 large gates close off the slave quarters, one is open now for workers:

Outside the slave area, crates and supplies are unloaded. The slums in the background:

Large processors are built into the mountain, while a pit to the right pulls up waste from the mines below:

A pulled back view of the factory, which is built directly into the mountain. 2 bridges gap the huge pit to the mines below, while vent pipes extend from the mountain:

Close up of factory entrance built into mountain as you stand on te small bridge. You cna see pipes extending into the pits:

On the other side of pit, you can see 2 large air processors over the smaller bridge, factory on right:

Factory entrance. A computer terminal identifies you and lets you in:

Large air processors over the small bridge, factory across bridge:

Standing on the small bridge you can see the entrance to the mines, carved into the mountain. Pipes in the pit to your right extend deep below, while vents shoot out of the mountain:

Misc processors:

Power generator:

Standing by generator, you see the mine entrance above:

You must walk up a mountain path to reach the mine entrance. Machines lifting cargo to your left, a terminal also:

Great work dis! I love the way you integrated all the machinery into the mountainside. Will you actually be able to enter the mines? If so then I can't wait to see what you come up with for that. :D

Yes, the mines will be an explorable area.

I have to go back and model out all the interiors from the previous 3 areas first, then I will move on to model the mines out.

Excellent modeling, Dis!! There has been an amazing amount of work done here, and I have to say, I'm really impressed by your raw talent for modeling! ;) Congratulations to juansaman, too, for his spirit and dedication to the job.

I was deeply sad to hear you had lost much of the support you had from LF members, and I'd like to inform you that I'm really looking forward to the final project...I also try not to bother Quanon a lot with all these modeling questions that go through my mind every day! :xp:

Anyway, I'm looking forward to see the areas in game, and I can't wait for more updates! ;) Just keep up the good work! :D

Awwww.... You made me blush, sweetie :blush2: Thanks for the compliment, man! You know I'll keep trying until I fall dead (or asleep over the keyboard :p ).

Congratulations to juansaman, too, for his spirit and dedication to the job.

You too! :blush2: Thanks!

I'm surprised you've had a decrease in support for this mod, considering it's one of the top WIPs on Holowan. You certainly have my support.

Thanks mate, we do need to be encouraged and feel people interested in the progress. But don't you worry, we'll bring your Sleheyron heaven to your comp, that's for sure!. :mm1

:raise::raise::lol: uh.... no problem?

Outstanding job! You keep getting better at-it. Just for curiosity's sake: is it possible that this area has quite diffrent lightning than other areas? It just feel somehow darker (wich would be great too).

The lighting is the same, however it is darker by design. The mountains cast a shadow on the area, since the main lightsource (sun) is coming from an angle behind the mountains. I wanted this area to look... hopeless?
