Wait, so the repeaters actually look like a soldier could carry them into battle?:D Whoohoo!

Ok, I started converting, but with the melee weapons I encountered that problem you mentioned in which the models end up oversized. Guns are all fine and finished, though.

You be for converting it to KotOR 2?

Actually, one texture for the repeaters is missing. There's only 2, but there should be 3:

1. Light repeater

2. Medium repeater/Baragwin assault gun

3. Blaster cannon

There are only two models for repeating blasters, so I wasn't able to make a custom one for one of those (I can't remember which one). I think the repeaters the droids use has some different model or it's built into their character model, so I'm not sure what to do about that.

That's a shame. Still, the guns being finished is a pretty good portion of it, I guess I can figure out the melee weapons on my own.

installing disruptors as we speak ... now they DO look like weapons to be carried into a battle, as other stated  ...

loved the bowcasters so far, great great job :golfclap:

please keep it up to finish heavy repeaters ASAP, first things first ... those are sooooo ugly that actually hurt my eyes at every glance at them ... :disaprove

Yes, these are next. Hope to have them out today. I decided I didn't like my redesign of it so I changed it a little again, it's closer to the original while still making more sense.

I really like what you're doing here. Amazing work!

If I may ask, are the icons going to change? It would just be weird seeing the vanilla icons when some of the models are completely redone.

The thought entered my head but I kind of like the current icons. They have a sort of nostalgic charm to them. At most, I might modify them slightly for weapons that have added accessories or weapons that are drastically different, like that heavy repeater. Either way, the aim of this project is to do everything and have it fit in with the rest of KoTOR as well as possible. If I did my own icons it could look a bit out of place with the vanilla icons, I guess I won't know until I try to make one.

It's a low priority anyhow. Wait until all the models are done, and it's released for both games, and we'll see :)

This is really awesome, I'm a HUGE fan. I tossed around the idea a long time ago, but I'm glad I never did it because I doubt it would be as good as you've made it. You're doing an incredible job of recreating all the weapons in their original spirit. I'm very impressed with the work that is going on here, keep it up please!

I don't mean to stick my nose where it doesn't belong, or tell anyone how to do their job (per se), but with the heavy weapons, would it make sense to remove the side handles, as they are not used? They were likely put there for an animation that was never installed in the final product of the game (the Terminator machine gun pose, or the Halo turret-carry pose), so they're a bit redundant.

On another note, these for inspiration;

I'm not making a bid to have these modelled, just food for thought for how you re-do the weapons.

No I think it makes sense personally, it gives it the impression that it use to be like a mounted turret or something that was removed from its base to be used by infantry.

I am trying to be as faithful to the originals as possible, which is the main reason.

More awesomeness. The hands of both males and females seem to fit perfectly these handgrips .... both on Heavy repeaters and disruptors.

also, these Heavy repeaters "seem" to have sort of a small "LED" screen to pinpoint foes through a small long range video cam placed in the middle module of the weapon (over the central barrel) if you look closely ... haha ... except that the animation would never allow you to place the weapon's LED panel in front of your eyes ... heh heh heh

keep it up! what's coming next I wonder?? :woo:

P.S. and I do appreciate your effort keeping the original models basic shapes, or at least not totally edited.

Hi there, I am a fervent user of your project, it's immersive and looks really great. But for the heavy repeater, I think your mounted turret theory makes sense, really. I made some pictures with the Model viewer and Photoshop about this heavy weapon look.

Changing the grip point in NWMax could make this even better and give that turret used as heavy machine gun, that looks really heavy and also powerful in a SWTOR way (if you saw the trailers). Now Canderous Ordo whould look really badass with a heavy weapon like that. Here are some other pictures for references.
