Beauty. What is it?

What is beauty?

As a male, I would think of a woman. What do you think of beauty?

If you look at the past centuries, then you would see that the "ideal" woman figure has grown more and more skinny. Will that continue?

Can you have a "Beautiful Mind"?

aka is beauty something within the (human) soul / mind?

Or is there a logical explanation?

(I'm new here, so I apologize if this thread recently has been up)

well my definition of beauty would be a KFC family bucket :D

but seriously, beauty has two definitions, one being attractiveness (sp?) and the other magnificence, so someone can have a beautiful mind as well as having a beautiful body

Ah, Beauty is Truth. There is a difference between Lust and Beauty.

Beauty is the ability to improve upon yourself; whereas lust is the ability to improve upon yourself by the way you look.

I have always favored beauty, for the real talent lies there.

To me, beauty is not the way your breast sticks out, or the way you walk. Beauty is all in the mind; the way you treat others, and the way you treat yourself.

Damn. that post was beautiful!! seriously, ok so im a little drunk as i post this, but i agree whole heartedly.

beauty is relative to the person who is looking.

again that is very true. i never knew you swampies were so deep :)

I think beauty can be applied to anything like It can be applied to a painting, or a flower, or a song lyric. But for me the most definitive definition of beauty was when...

*cue cheesy moment*

I was sitting with my girlfriend of 11 months now, in the evening, looking in each others eyes, the light coming in through the curtains was on her face, and all was quiet. She looked so pretty, her make-up, her facial expression, it was perfect. She told me she loved me, and that to me was beautiful, not just her face, but also what she said, and the atmosphere of the moment. That fore me was beauty.

*boohoo* wipe the tears away now fellas ;)

We're all people Bilbo:)

And that situation with your girlfriend, I would define that as a beautiful moment. And I agree with you totally Padanime. Beauty means something completely different to one person than it does to another. Some people see other people as beautiful, and some don't. For me, beauty isn't just in the mind. It's everything about the person, and the only person who can judge if someone is beautiful, is you. Through your eyes. Someone said to me once, speaking in relationship terms, 'how can you love someone and get along with them for the rest of your life if you're not attracted to them?' And I agree, but attraction varies from person to person. Everyone has their own judgements and opinions.
