Bob Gnarly Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 i like day of the triffids its funny in an old black in white way
Bob Gnarly Posted December 6, 2002 Author Posted December 6, 2002 i kew it, now theres gonna be 50 replys on i like LOTR but that movie sucks compared to other book-based-movies!
Matt-Liell Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 not in my opinion (which u did ask for!) if u are going to complain about people posting their own opinions dont make a thread!
Skate Boy Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 I like the Jurasic Park series. Weren't they books first? and LoTR.
greedo626 Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 lotr. and yeah, jurassic park was a book before it was a movie:thumbsup:
Kylilin Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 I think that there so many movies that are based off of books, that people don't realize half the time that they were books first. Anyways for my pick, it would have to be Goodfellas.
Nitro Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 If I can count it as a movie, Band of Brothers... Otherwise, The Hunt For Red October.
greedo626 Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 oo oo. how about the godfather? that was a good book to movie.
Hekx Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 :: Remembers he hasn't read a book since 1992 and that was only looking at the pictures... :: Errr.... LOTR! Of course

leXX Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 The Color Purple based on the book by Alice Walker.
Matt-Liell Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Forgot about Jurassic Park! Thats probably it or LotR!

ondrahosek Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 LotR: FotR! Great film, have the Special Extended Edition DVD! (based on StormHammer's post - the one under this one) Blade Runner? Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Not a bad one, either... Have it on DVD, the Director's Cut! OK, I'm going to insert it and listen to the music at the end... Which is good, frankly... Harry Potter 2 was also nothing bad... And, of course, Star Wars, which was also written as a book of 9 episodes before the films.
StormHammer Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Blade Runner...based on the book 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K. Dic.k And the 50's film version of Day Of The Triffids was execrable tripe, IMHO. The series shown on Brit TV was marginally better...but it needs a far better (and more faithful) treatment for the big screen.
nova_wolf Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Bladerunner was excellent. Sphere was a good crack. JP books are FAR superior - DONT watch the films - read the books. More to them, beter in all aspects, plus Hammond is eaten by end of Book 1! Else - Interview w/ a Vampire - excellent!

Darth Homer Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 well, hate to be a broken record, but Lotr, with the original, Director's cut of Dune as a second place, third goes to JP I'm surprised no one's said Bond yet...
Boba Rhett Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Harry Potter...... kidding. Lord of the Rings!
-s/<itzo- Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 can't think of any but Harry Potter & LOTR were good.
