Boba Rhett
The extended version, that is. The movie as it is now was already a hair away from an R rating and here's what Peter had to say about the extended version that will come out. "In the book, the Battle of Helm's Deep is a very violent affair. How does that translate onto the screen?" "We've got a PG-13 battle scene, but it's a fairly gritty battle. It's about as far as we could possibly push it within that rating. We filmed some heads and limbs being chopped off which we've taken out. We'll probably put them back in the DVD, which will have an R rating." Excellent. I've always wanted to see the orcs chuck heads over the walls. I hope that's in there. Surfnshannon
eh - most of the audience is not kids so why didn't they just leave the chopping off limbs in the theater version...oh wait a majority of the lovers are Teens...darn. They would loose a lot of money if they did that in the theater and they are going to make a lot of money by having a R dvd.
Rogue Nine
Yeah, but if today's teenagers are any indication, violence shouldn't faze them at all. But yeah. *has tickets to go see it Opening Day*
Boba Rhett
*kicks Nine in the pants and takes his tickets* *runs away* *feels bad and gives back tickets and gets ice pack* Look what it's driven me to do! I just have to go stand around my mall for hours on end until someone throws me a freakin' bone and tells me if the tickets for the midnight show will even be on sale. Rogue Nine
Hey, I got a whole bunch and if you lived around here I'd gladly take you. So there's no need for violence. SEE? VIOLENCE!!!
Surfnshannon
u can't get them on Fandango.com or something like that?? I got my Star Wars tickets opening day etc...and never had to wait in line. Tee hee.
Boba Rhett
Nope. Nothing like that is available for around here. All we have is a dumpy little Carmike, that smells like sour milk btw, which doesn't do common courtesy stuff like telling you when or if tickets for things will be on sale. Surfnshannon
Road TRIP. You'd like CA then. About 15 min from my work there is an Edwards that has 22 theaters plus an IMAX. And an AMC with I think over 30 Theaters. There is also MANY Many others to choose from!! I forget how nice it is to have a nice theater nearby. I'll stop rubbing it in now. Ratmjedi
Well you must live by Ontario Mills since you just said that about the theater. Just a little detective work. I say awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing some Orc parts flying around either. I think that if they want to stay true to the books that they should show it but then again they will lose money. I'll just get the DVD then. It was just like the Fast and the Furious and how they were very close to having a R rated movie instead of a PG-13 one. But they went down to PG-13 so that they could get a bigger audience.

At least some of us patient people could handle the wait abit and it would certainly be well worth it too!

Crazy_dog no.3
Really? It's gonna be 12A over here (children under 12 must be occampanied by an adult). I think the first one was PG, which means everyone over the age of 8 can get in without an adult. Goes something like this in the UK: U- "Suitable For All". Shreck, Beauty And The Beast and Barney's Sing-Along Songs all go into this category. PG- "Parental Guidence". Languige can get a little stronger, with a few bitches, asses and limited use of s***. Mild drugs references, mild racism, mild sex and stronger violence is allowed(violence can be a little justified by theme) Anyone over 8 can get in without adult. FOTR, Jarrasic Park, My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Star Wars all fall into this group. 12A- 12 Advisory. Languige get stronger, with no limits on s***, up to 2 f***s. Moderate sex, a little worse racism, slightly more voilence and horror is allowed. Anyone under 12 requires adult. Includes Die Another Day, Minority Report, The Mothman Prophicies and Ocean's 11. 15- 15+. No more limits set on languige and nudity (provided it is brief/hard to make out). Voilence can get strong, but not too extreme. No more limits on horror. Drug use is allowed, so long as it's not extreme, so to speak:rolleyes: . Includes Saving Private Ryan (Just barely!), The Matrix, The X Files movie, Red Dragon, South Park:BLAU and Max Payne (not a movie but for some reason rated by the movie board:rolleyes: ) 18- Adults only. No more limits set anymore. However if it get too sexual it earns a r-18 rated (in other words, a porn movie;) ), and while taking drugs u aren't allowed to see the guyactually taking the drug and putting it into his mouth . Includes Hannibal, Alien, Eyes Wide Shut, Predator and Playing God. EDIT: A few mistakes corrected, such as South Bark and several others.

Admiral Odin
I don't like huge crowds so I'll probably wait a little while. Most likely the week after Christmas. I hate working sometimes...
