TPM - Qui-Gon's death and his funeral

AotC- Anakin confessing his murderous deed

EPIII- The most likely best duel in the entire saga (hopefully better than TPM :D)

ANH - Luke seeing his uncle and aunt dead

ESB - Carbonite freezing chamber and "I am your Father"

RotJ - The best in the entire saga probably, the dialouge between Luke, Vader and the Emperor, the duel, and the Emperor's death, and then Anakin's death

I agree, the scene in the Lar's garrage where Anakin is talking about killing the tusken raiders...

"I..I killed them. They're all DEAD.....and not just the men, but the women, and the children too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE them!"

It shows Luke's struggle to get the Jedi Order up again, and that good guys don't always win.

They will win the war, but at terrible costs in battles. I don't doubt they will triumph over the Vong.

I just wish they'd get Kyle Katarn into it! Kill him off nobally in battle, for all I care! At least he'll die a hero. (Uhh, I killed Kyle in DF/ JK/ MotS/ JO about 6,864,081,346 times...)

Let's see....

The entire NJO series and the entire X-Wing series.

Best SW books out there, IMO.

I didnt realise books were included in this thread...silly me. However I dont think there were "memorabe moments" in any of the books anyway.

It's not the most emotional of moments, but after seeing the prequels, the part in ESB where Vader says: "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father..."

It makes me think of all the stuff he went thru in the first 2 prequels (and is likely to go thru in the last one). It's kind of eerie... is eerie an emotion? ;P

Read directions, then... I forgot to to. NJO is the most drmatic just because of the deaths of so many and losses of the heroes....

I find the end of ROTJ emotional for me.

I suppose the 'I am your father' part from ESB is alo emotional, but I just used to laugh at Luke's face. ;)

Also, where Luke goes postal on Vader at the end of ROTJ.

Can't really think about that much from the prequel.

Qui-Gon's death was quite emotional.

But most of the acting from the prequels is terrible.

*Cough* Hayden Christensen *Cough* :D

I disagree with the critical assessments of Hayden Christianson's acting. In much the same way Ewan has to meld into Alec Guiness, Hayden has to portray much of what Mark Hamill did in the OT (Yoda and Obi both talk about the similarity). So he has to be moody, petulant, whiny, argumentative, and so on...

My most emotional seen in any of the SW movies is by a long shot the death of Shmi ... watching Anakin cycle through joy, despair, grief, loss, and into anger and then focused, powerful rage was something ... I saw it in theaters, IMAX, and now on DVD ... it gets me every time ...

After that ... the carbon freeze scene.

Ahh, yes. The Ewok. My little sister cried to.

And my older sister, who hates SW, but knows the people in it, thought it was really sad when Jango get beheaded and she saw Boba in the shadows, astonished and heart broken. She said aloud, "Is that Boba Fett?! Aww, that's sad..."

Like father like son

But seriously, I think Hayden did an excellent job. His emotions are melodramatic and very angsty in the first half of the movie, very shallow--but when things start getting serious, he shows that new depth of emotion.

And I think the most emotional moment in the Saga is probably when Anakin is talking about slaughtering the tuskens. It's all in the eyes, they're almost blank, and the darkness under them... you just got this sense that you were looking into the eyes of Darth Vader's mask. And there was something more... I don't know if it was the camera angle, or the way Hayden was carrying himself, but he looked so gaunt, and so drawn-out. And, of course, you had the music going in the background. In the beginning of the scene, he's reverted--he even sounds like Jake Lloyd when he says "I'm good at fixing things, always have been..." He's this scared little boy who did an unforgivable act. There's something very haunting about that.

As for the EU... little enough there ;) But, yes, when Kyle kills Jan in the alternate ending of Jedi Knight--that's pretty emotional. And when Emperor Kyle is watching the Holo of his father telling him how proud he is, and trying to hold back the tears and then just crushes the projector... all that is great! Huge mistake not using actors for the cutscenes in Jedi Outcast! Those models can't portray emotion worth Bantha Poodoo!
