I've got mine all sorted out, and I have a total of 295 mp3s, totalling a 22 hours, 30 minutes, and 28 seconds.

finally cleaned up my hard drive too, leaving room for dozens more! :D

I'm sure many of you people with 20 gig hard drives and up have alot more mp3s than me. =]

Most of mine are techno, some rap, some rock, some heavy metal, star wars, and stuff from games and movies. the majority of it is techno.

Only dozens more? Not hundreds? 0.0

Twenty gigs? Pah! That's for kiddies :p:D

160Gigs here, and still wanting more... :D

I think I've got a little over 400 mp3s, after allowing for a few duplications... My shared folder (shan't name the program cos Rhett will eat me alive :p) is about 30Gigs itself... I'd be screwed if I only had a 20Gig hard drive :D

question to you all? do you listen to them ALL?

cause i almost never have time for music. i have about 42... nit gigs... no MP3's. its enough for me... once i hear a cool song again.. and love listening to it over and over... i will get it.... but other wise its just a waste of hard disk.

a friend of mine has 150 CD's full with MP3's. and they are not 650 MB :p

all the music I have in my computer are here because of me, my sister or my father, I only hear some mp3 my father downloaded, and my sis and I hear the rest of the music, I always like to hear diferent things when I´m working or just lurking on the internet, because when i hear something i already heard, I lost myself singing and even dancing with my little sis, ;P

Well, with the RIAA now trying to force ISPs to cough up information about individual user accounts for the purposes for prosecuting them for copyright infringement and file swapping, I'm not sure I'd be broadcasting the number of files I have on my PC right now. The person they are going after as a test case has a LOT fewer files than most of you. Verison has, admirably, so far attempted to block it, but it seems that the courts have been ruling in favor of the industry in cases like these.

The story for those of you who havent seen it:http://news.com.com/2100-1023-960838.html

I expect more of these types of cases to pop up in the future as the industry realizes it can't block the services, so it will try to go after individual users. And as full-length feature films start to be swapped as commonly as music files, expect the MPAA to get more involved in the process as well.

the thing that i cannot stand is the people that dload every freaking mp3 out there, and then they will NOT share them. I almost im'd one of them and unleashed my anger a few times when i finally found an mp3 i was looking for and they cancelled its dload. I wanted to e-bomb them, have their mouse transformed into a grenade and blow their ****ing hand off, and a beam to shoot through the monitor and destroy their sight.

It's OK to rip a CD you paid for to MP3s for your own personal use, either on your PC(s) or a portable MP3 player. That's called "fair use."

As soon as you share them, even with a friend or family member, your are technically breaking the law, although they would never bother to prosecute a case like this. And as soon as you upload them for potentally MILLIONS of total strangers to grab them,.. then watch out! They are going to want to go after your ass! Also: If you download any copyrighted material (music, video, software, images, text...) that isn't speciffically marked for free use or as 'public domain' without paying for it then you are also breaking the law.
