Taos
This one worries me more so then the Desert Storm war did..........I just hope that nothing happens to us here in the States and I hope for the best for our troops over in the middle east. They have my complete support.
TheHobGoblin
YES!!!!! It was kinda funny. I was watching Fox News and they were watching the place where the raid took place. I see a bright dot show then fade. Even the camera zoomed in. Then.... KABOOM!
BCanr2d2
False start really - the main show is either tonight Iraqi time, or most like the day after, to allow the current sandstorm to clear to allow for the use of ground troops early...
Hekx
Looks like most of Europe are getting pissed from the 'hostile' attacks from Britain and America. I hope it's fast, and productive. I do hope minimal civilians get injured, but it seems like with the fire-power available, Iraq go bye bye.
BCanr2d2
Since when is 35 countries in an Alliance just the US and the UK? It is also of note that the French backflipped on their position to oppose the invasion of Iraq, only after they had been given a thorough dressing down in the UN. Not a single country of note involved with this whole situation is making their decisions totally based upon "honest" reasons. Every one of them aren't making their real reasons known as to why they are doing it, they all have something to hide. In pure numbers, the news have stated all these peace protests have been the largest ever, but in the percentage of population, it is a sad indictment that these huge numbers are considered the vocal majority, when it is far from that................ Pisces
Whoa. Iraq has between 375,000 and 400,000 ground troops while America, Australia, and Britain only have about 280,000. Both these sides have plenty of weapons too. My money's on America but this war isn't going to be very clean.

Hmm, it better be a fast war, or else I'm going there with my stick and then I'm going to slash everyone in a military uniform ! -Clemme

My money's on America but this war isn't going to be very clean. Those numbers may be misleading, it is quite possibly true that they do have more men, but we have better equipment...M1-A1 Abrahms, Stealth Fighters & Bombers, etc. The Iraqi's have the "Elite Guard", but they were there in the Gulf War of Bush Sr. and look how fast they crumbled. I've heard reports that they've dug in to positions surrounding Baghdad...if that's true, picking them off with long range artillery and guided missiles won't be that difficult. I'm not too worried that we will win the war, it's just I'm not sure what Saddam's long-range missle arsenal is and I don't believe for one second that he was truely destroying his most powerful weaponry. p.s. I remember seeing a quote from an Iraqi soldier after the Gulf War describing how they detected American Apache helicopters were in the area. He said, "We would be in camp and suddenly something would explode."
dark jedi 8
not only iraq, but if we piss off korea, then we could really be screwed. i hope the war never makes it that far. i think we will easily take care of iraq though. IMO they don't seem to even be putting up a fight. there just kinda sitting back and letting us bomb them. they might have a few tricks up their sleeve? hopefully not though. ZBomber
Well, we all knew it was gonna happen. Its not that much of a shock, but I hope Suddam Hussein is arrested/killed and the Iraqui people will not be under the leadership of a dictator anymore. Yeah, like setting the oil fields on fire. Well, when I'm writing this at the moment, they've hit one city with over 70 cruise missles and the hit Saddam's palace. They also captured a city near the border a while ago. Say what you want about America, but from where I sit, they work pretty fast.
XWING5
I am really surprised how well this whole campaign is going. I hope that the whole situation can be settled without the "shock an awe" attack. But I, too, have heard of this latest copter crash. My mom called all worried teling me she didn't want me to fly (I am trying to put in my flight packet). It is very saddening news though.
