Icemaniax
most people dont have planes flying over there house. But me, my house is DIRECTLY in the flight path for landing Jets and other planes. I live 2 miles from kinglsey field, the F-15's From the 173rd Fighter wing fly over my house all day everyday, & Night sometimes. the bomber was here for show 'n tell, i could go down and go for a ride in it, but i already did that when i lived in Crescent City. oh and it wasnt just "A" tank that went by then, it was about 200-250 tanks. the weirdest thing that ever flew over was a bannana yellow pontoon plane. TheMadDoofer
We have a local WWII airshow museum that flies all sorts of planes over my house. They seem to have one every month. The weirdest thing I have ever seen flying over my house was yesterday, a plane that looked like one of the experimental flying wing planes from WWII flew over (the one from the new BF1942 expansion). It sounded really weird, sort of like a high pitched whine most unlike other jet aircraft. Here it is in BF1942: Here is a drawing of it (couldn't find a good pic). NOTE: It was not the B42 bomber. Trust me, I checked.
Jedi Apprentice
I live 20 minutes from an Army Base so quite frequently there is a dull roar in the background from the bomb testing. Sounds a lot like thunder. Very cool......

TheJackal
When the Queen came to Canada last year they flew a bunch of air planes around Ottawa (where I live and the nation's capital) There was a bunch. From modern to old. The Flying Fortress bi-planes (you know... planes that look like they are from WW1) and other planes that i have no idea how to describe them. my dad knows all thier names and etc, but I'm 100% clueless. What surprised me the most is the low altitude in which they flew compared to modern planes. I knew there was a difference, but i never really realised until now. Then it got me thinking... imagine being a french men during occuption in WW2. Seeing all those Bombers flying overhead. Covering the skies and the constant roar of the engines. Must of been impressive and exciting seing them come in to push back the occupants.
Jedi Apprentice
In my town we also have a lot of professional pilots and they all fly their own planes around at really low altitudes. @TheJackal-- All of these planes flew over your house? That must of been very, very cool. Was the Queen in one of them?
TheJackal
haha. yeah right. they were either flying around to the location in which the Queen was as a demonstration/show or coming back from it. There is a Air and Space museum near my place with its own little airstrip. On the outside they show case all cool places relevant to Canadian history. Bob Gnarly
Hahahahaha, you know how old our Queen is? Imagine her in a plane like that.
Sam Fisher
I used to have all sorts of helicopters(sp?) and planes flying over my house, but I just moved to the 'city' last December, so no more planes.
StormHammer
We get the odd fighter jet fly up or over our valley. We're more inclined to see helicopters where I live, though. Some are trying to track down joy-riders...others are trying to track down missing people. Lots of birds...mostly crows, but I've seen the odd eagle take off from somewhere high on the mountain and just ride the air currents up until it disappears. The oddest thing I've had walk past my house was a few sheep out for a stroll. Sometimes a horse rider. The occasional joy-rider. And this was supposed to be a quiet area...
