The Cheat
I was just wondering, for all you LOTR fans out there, which version(s) of The Two Towers will you be buying? Neither, The Theatrical Edition, The Extended Edition, Both ----------------------- I myself will probably be buying both since that is what i did with the fellowship of the ring

StormHammer
I'll be getting the special extended edition as well, which comes out in November in the UK. I thought the extended edition of FOTR was great, so I have high hopes for TTT.
Eldritch
Extended for me too.
The Cheat
yeah they are adding more footage to the two towers then they did for the fellowship of the ring (forty-some minutes added) so its gonna be 222 minutes (or 3 hours 42 minutes)

Darth Eggplant
neither i will wait for the special edition three piece box set. cause they put out a dvd then a special 4 disc dvd set so you know they are going to do that. and i cant see why i should have every version they put out. same goes for matrix trilogy waiting for all 3 before buying. ET Warrior
*sigh* I'll probably buy both. Just because they'll come out with the original first, and I'll want to see TTT so bad i'll buy it. Then they'll come out with the extended, which I must have....those dirty tricksie fools!!!
Antilles_CL
Extended for me
HertogJan
The normal one for me, it's cheaper and I want the movie to be the way it was shown in the theatres.. But I won't buy it the moment it comes out, probably somewhere before Return of the King... When I have money... At least I hope to have money after Half-Life 2, Jedi Academy and Deus Ex

C Shutt
If I buy either, it'll be the theatrical version. I liked the movie a lot, but does it really need to be longer?

toms
Probably Extended, but it will depend a lot on what they put in (anyone have a link to details???). I avoided the Theatrical FOTR as most of the extras sucked and i didn't want to spend the money twice... and i was rewarded because the Extended was awesome, moved a lot quicker (oddly) and was a better film (with better extras). However, im not going to blindly buy the Extended TT just because it is extended, the stuff the put back had better be worth it. I'll wait until the extended one comes out before i pick one. im a bit worried as i can't think of much stuff (apart from stuff with the ents) that needs to be added to TT... most of the stuff added to FOTR was stuff i already wanted.... whereas i couldn't think of many important points they cut from TT. In fact, i would rather they cut some of those pointless Aragorn/Arwen dream sequences that messed up the pacing in the middle. Just cos it is extended doesn't mean it is better.... look at the sucky Aliens SE.... can't wait for the Quadrilogy so i can get Aliens back in its proper form. BCanr2d2
First of all toms, there is already a Aliens Legacy Box set out with all of the films on DVD, plus an extra one with that too. I haven't looked at the box, but that too has the special edition with it, must be what James Cameron wants to show to the world.... Anyways, as for the TTT, both of them, just like with FOTR, just because with the theatrical version, I want to see it ASAP, then when the Extended edition comes out, at least we will see the Hobbits have a drink with Treebeard, rather than skip that whole area of the book. BTW, when is Matrix Reloaded out on DVD? Just before Revolutions?
Wanderer
Me and my Wife will buy both. Though it's kinda stupid because the real cool thing is the extended version...the normal version is getting released earlier....so as big fans of Lord of the Rings we must have it....(Aaaachouuuuu! Got a cold in summer. Oh my goodness!)
