Matt-Liell
Well I think its about time we had one of these around here. This is for all of you artists who use photoshop to create amazing graphics. Here you can show of your work, give previews and get opinions. This also gives others the opportunity to ask you how you did stuff and learn new techniques. This thread is NOT a place to showcase your new sigs, take that to the sig discussion thread please. I guess I should start things off here. I haven't had PS for that long but I was amazed to see what people could do. and since I was not new to art nor computer graphicsI decided to take on a project. I was especially interested in all the LCD Interface graphics that people were making in PS so I decided to try and design a CD Player like graphic myself, its not completely done but its about 3/4 of the way there, what do ya think? [RAA]-=Chi3f=-
Looks nice. I haven't used PC since I was a desktop publisher in 98 (it was on a MAC). I only use Corel Photo paint now. I'm so used to the way it's layed out and all the awesome filtering it has. I find it to be the best non-commercial bit of Graphics editing software out there. Is there anything better? I would really like to know.

KBell
nice pic Cryptic I used Photoshop to make my sabers, but thats mostly it. I followed a cool tutorial on how to make a Clip for a Beretta and it looked pretty cool
Loki GM
before my 30 day trial ran up I pritty much just used the wand, invert, and filters to make what I did(I once made a Lupin with the matrix code background but I didnt like it that much)
Wanderer
My standard programme for designing is Micrografx Picturepublisher 8. You can do quite nice things with it...also animated gifs. It's cheap...I paid for the whole Graphicssuite on or about 9$...Don't know if it is available in US. Bought it in germany. I designed all of my sabers with it. Nice little programme

BCanr2d2
Yeah, recently watched Call For Help and they helped me edit a lot of my scanned pics by using the Adjust Levels, rather than editing Brightness and Contrast. Easy way to redistribute the colours in a pic, especially if they don't cover all of the spectrum. Easliy touch up photos that are too dark, or too bright, and also do it per colour channel if it's out of whack too. What I want to know is what kind of transparent layer do I need to do to a sepia effect on photos (ie make them look old)
-=DarkZero=-
I have a couple/few/so on questions. 1: How do I made glowing stuff like lightsabers and glowing letters and stuff like that. 2: The magic wand allows you to cut an image out, well I saved one of the images but then when I opend it to add to a skin I was making it had a white box around it and I thought it would just save as the letters, how can I get it without the white box around/in side it. 3: Everytime I use text now a line appears through it all and It's really annoying, how do I rid of it? 4: This is for the gif making thing that comes with it, how do Iadd a second picture, everytime I try it starts a new one. These are the main problems I'm having, and I end up using my MGI along with my PS to make skins and stuff, and I just want to try to stick with one..please someone help lol. Well, I haven'y used PS in a while, but maybe I can help with Corel answers. 1) Glow: On way I do it is mask the area I want to glow (the saber). Next I expand the mask a little bit to create a sort of aura. Then I do it various ways, but usually I lighten up the outer rim of the object with a white base color and later add the color I want to the very edge of the object. From here you can use a brush to blend the color to the (sword) and white base color. You can take it a step further and use filtering like color dodge, tint, contrast, etc. 2) I think in PS you have to save the document as a PS document containing the mask. Try "saving as" a couple different types. Bitmap, tiff, and jpeg won't work because when you save your file in these formats, all layers are combined with the background and a masked area will be converted into the background color (make sense?). A gif will save a mask if you tell it to though it doesn't quite work the same way. In Corel it's a .CPT, a file that's propriatery file to Corel. This document will save any artwork in it's exact state. YTou can also import and export masks. IF you want to use a mask later, there should be an option as "save mask" 3) I think you have strike through selected. Go in the text editor and deselect it. There should be an option at the top. 4) In Corel, you create it as a movie. Then you add frames and tell it the amount and weather you want the next frames to be blank or copy the current. For DVD capture gifs I make the first frame by opening the original capture (let's say cap001.bmp). From there I enter the value of 10 frames. Then I go to the "import pictiure" This allows you to import an image into a frame. From there I go "cap002-cap010" Then I resize and edit the image and lastly I export the file type as a .gif document. If you have a mask, you can tell it to make the transparent area the mask. Watch out though, by having multiple layers that don't match up with a transparent gif will cause them to "bleed" into the next frame here's an example Here's a few more examples Hope this helps. Hope that helps, I was a photoshop junkie sitting with my wacom drawing for hours until I discovered 3DS Max ... Lol, don't get me started with 3D rendering. I love 3DSmax, Poser, lightwave, and Bryce. Finding the time to use them is another story. Right now I'm doing a lot with the Unreal Engine (until the HL2 engine is out) I had a nice Wacom stylus pad, but I eventually wore holes in it from repetitive movements. Oh well, it was a freebie anyway, lol Doh!
