BongoBob
I can't wait to go to school today. I am gonna see just about all of my friends, since I don't have any friends in my neighborhood, and I can't sleep because of it. I'm sitting here, downloading stuff, and watching Kung Pow, drinking Mt. Dew to make sure I'm hyper for the day;) Does this(can't sleep beacause I'm excited about going to school) make me a dork? Reclaimer
No I couldn't wait to go to my new bigger like shopping mall size school to make new friends. So in my opinion no.
Sam Fisher
Nope, there's nothing wrong with wanting to see your friends. So, no, you are not a dork.
Shinzon
You are who you are. You are not a dork, nor a geek, nor anything else. You are you. The only identification you need is your name. Labels such as 'dork' have no meaning.
KBell
im excited about seeing my friends too, but im not gonna lose any sleep over it:rolleyes: Im a Sophmore now, so nothing in my school really excites me anymore.
GUNNER
Hell ya your a dork. Oops, did I say that out loud?
Lost Welshman
I say Yoda! I don't know how it feels so.... I mean, my friends live about half a mile or a mile away at least. But I walk up to see them or get a lift with my bro so I see them quite alot. I say, if you haven't seen them in a while it doesn't make you a dork. Unless you wanted to go back and work. Arreat
Why not just bike to your friends house? Or eve have your parents drive ya there? Thats why I usually do.
StormHammer
I'd say that hardly registers on the Official Dorkiness Scale...so no. Enjoy your friends while you have them...it's all too easy to part ways and not keep in touch.

Acrylic
Originally posted by Yoda_623 same here, but I can't say that nothing in my school doesn't excite me anymore... Lemme guess. Health class videos excite you? (We once had to watch a childbirth video in Health, and It was DISGUSTING! ) Anyways, I'm looking forward to going to school. Seeing my old freinds, meeting new friends...being in a new school in General. Except, I'll miss the freedom of summer.

BongoBob
Thanks you guys. Today I saw every-one of my friends I knew was going there. And no, I don't wanna work, I just wanna see my friends again. And you guys are lucky to be able to do stuff like that. If I couldjust hop on my bike and see my friends, or have my mom and dad take me, but I can't. The reason is that my parents are really over-protective, and that most of my friends are girls, and they'll start thinking the wrong things, if you catch my drift:rolleyes:

Swoosh
No way! If you are excited to go to school, then you should be happy...too many people (like me) dread the first day of school for some reason. Swoosh
boinga1
A dork? Heck no. It makes you a vampire, clean and simple, or the incarnation of one of Satan's angels. Why all the funny looks? I personally hate the first day of school...but then again, if I didn't try to play basketball, take honors classes, and...do other stuff, I might be able to relax more. Kurgan
Not really. Most people are excited about going back to school. It just depends on the type of excitement. Some are stressed out. On the one hand, you may be viewed as "uncool" to be excited to be going back, but on the other hand you have good reason to be, even if not for your love of learning, but the chance to see old friends, make new ones, have fun, etc. So honestly, isn't that better than being anxious and stressed out or depressed about it? It's certainly healthier.

Darklighter
I'm in pretty much the same situation as you, Bob. I'm really looking forward to going back, I've been so dead and empty this summer x_o. So no, you're not a dork. I mean, you're the same as me, and how could Darky ever be a dork? =P Such a question is not worth comprehending. XD
Pisces
I'm neither looking forward to it nor dreading it. I have to go up tomorrow to help get the grade 9's (I'm in grade 11, finally a senior:D) oriented for their first day (it's next tuesday) so I'll see a bunch of people then. Plus I'm going there thursday night for a Dixieland band and I' ve already talked to a bunch of my friends and they're all going. So, basically I'll be back at school, hanging with my friends a couple times before the actual work kicks in. And when it comes to work, I'm not worried, I tried hard in grade 9 but I figured out towards the end that I could backslide, do the bare minimum, put everything off etc. and still do really good. So to me, school rocks.

matt--
Being excited for school is fine as long as you use it as a social gathering instead of a learning institution. I can't wait for school
