I chose "other" and I would have liked to have been introduced to a new character that was a master at the academy. So not only would you have had some company/help you would have been getting to know another character. Or better yet if they could have had a couple of different masters to choose from each with different teaching styles. Like you could have had a master that specialised in force powers or one that was a pure saberist depending on what style of jedi you wanted to be.

I voted for another student\master from the academy, but it was a close call between that and 'other'. I think it would have been cool to go on missions with another student. It would have been more realistic that way as well, given that one master can't watch more than one student at a given time unless they were both on the same planet\mission together. Besides, the missions where Kyle went with you got kinda dull. You didn't really need to do much while he was with you given that he outclassed you in every area. If it was another student, you'd both have to work and watch each others' backs.

 

That said, I almost went with 'other' because I also think it would have been kinda neat to have a mission or two(besides Chewie) where you have to work with a gunslinging non-force user. Maybe a mercenary that owes Kyle a few favors or something along those lines.

I would love the idea of two students wondering around trying to accomplish missions :D Traveling with Han & Chewie wouldn't be so bad either.

 

...so I voted for "Another student/Master from the Academy"

 

The least interesting option was Luke as Im really tired of his voice :)

I went with my gut instinct and voted for Kyle. I thought he was used quite well in JA...but at the same time, he could have given you more insights into 'why you should use the Force this way and not that way.' Of course, he still needs a change of clothes. :p

 

At the same time - it would have been good to see a few other Jedi Masters at the Academy, with strong characterisation. As it was, it appeared like 'Luke and Kyle's Jedi Training School'.

 

Also, it would have been good to see a few more helpers on some of the missions - again, with strong characterisation. I wanted to see Chewie not just shoot the bad guys, but pick a few up and toss them around. Basically, act like a Wookie on a bad hair day...and his appearance in the game could have been much longer.

 

It would be good to see a new 'Jedi Council' with a handful of respected Jedi Masters. And maybe one of them works for their own ends...and tries to seduce you to the Dark Side...

Kyle was a thoroughly boring "master" and helper.

 

Personally, I'd've loved to see someone like Mika Reglia or Ganner Rhysode accompanying you as your student-companion, or perhaps another Jedi master more suited to the task at hand (Kam, Tionne, Streen etc) along as your babysitter.

 

But whatever. Dark Forces more or less shoves continuity out the window anyway, why put effort into it? :/

yea at the first i thoghed that kyle was lame....but in the fight between him and me he was really asskicking good...ha had powers that i havent ever seen anyone use....like that punching stuff...and the grip throw...*sumhow he always manages to hit the stone blocks with me*

Well, personally I would have loved to see a mission alongside Luke, I was looking forward to it, and suddenly I'm facing the final boss and it hits me that he never even got out his lightsaber. Ah well ^.^ There's always NPC spawn Luke

 

Mara Jade would've been cool too, she's long due for another game appearance XD

 

That and I also would have liked to see more of the original students of the academy besides a reference to one. But oh well, it's a very kick-ass game none the less, never was bored for a second.

She is one of the greatest things the EU has produced, she must've been popular for the EU gurus to let her get married to Luke......not to mention the fact that they went and found a model to flesh her out, so to speak(Shannon Baksa, in the old decipher card game)

 

I loved MoTs, mainly because of her, and it was very cool to be able to play as her in the old PS1 game, Masters of Teras Kasi.....

 

Being paired with Mara would have been super cool ! Well maybe in a sequel(q3 engine or not) it could be NJO times and you could play one of Mara's apprentices, like Jaina Solo....

Who the flying focher are these people? With Kyle Katarn and Luke being the main known characters, you don't have to be an EU nerd to know who's who.
