ZBomber
Well, those seem pretty good. The order.... .well, what do you mean? Are you gonna take parts out of your old computer, and then put the new ones in? You might be better off just selling your old one, and put the money towards the new parts you are buying. Poggle
Yeah looks to me like it should work and stuff but as Z bomber said selling it and buying a the new parts might be a better option

Darth Homer
Answer to A: All of those parts should work together without a problem, you may run into a bad part, but any comp store worth a damn will replace any defective parts free of charge. Also, you may want to shop around, take a look at newegg or compUSA (if you have one in your area, there are NONE here in SC) Answer to B: If you mean getting the parts & installing them in the old case, you may run into the problem that the old case will not have room or the right mounts for the motherboard. Especially since the old cpu is a P1, most likely will not support a brand new mobo, best to go with completely new everything. If you mean, get the new case & install the parts, then it is really up to you. I suggest mobo, power supply, and anything after that you'll have to use your own judgement based on the design of your case and layout of mobo. You can probably find tutorials on how to properly build an entire system somewhere online, just have to "google it".
BongoBob
Thanks everyone. Maybe there's some poor sap on ebay that wants to buy a crap ass computer if I sell my printer and call it a "Student Printer".
Darth Homer
quite possibly, or pitch the idea to your dad that you may be able to donate it somewhere & get a small tax write-off (local school, library, etc?)

Darth Homer
And you'd be a fool to ignore the anti-aliasing least square boolean-binary scsi interface for the new usb cmos configuration device which uses smtp over the ssl to create a vpn tunnel to connect to a sql srv that does a query against it's db for the proper config & then ftps the correct config asap. Tyrion
Originally posted by Astrotoy7 pfft. building computers is for nerds..... *wishes he could build a computer* mtfbwya It's easy. It's all connecting part A to motherboard. It's a whole lot easier than, say, trying to troubleshoot a problem with a game. Really, it is. Anyway it looks ok. However, I'd change the p4 and it's motherboard with an AMD 2400+ mobile and motherboard; it'll be cheaper, and you can overclock the amd to 2.5ghz usually(really really good, equals roughly to a 3.0ghz P4 at the least). And change the 9200 Stealth Ati video card to a regular 9600 xt built by Ati(only 40 dollars more).
Amidala from Chop Shop
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUILD YOUR NEW COMPUTER IN THAT OLD CASE!! Power Supply:.............................................Steady-state 110W Energy Star compliant You'll need a 300W power supply minimum. And, that case will have totally inadequate cooling. The case (and it's cooling ability) and the power supply are two of the most important and overlooked components in a high-performance PC. It's not hard to build a computer Astrotoy. I convinced one of my co-workers to give it a try. He really knew nothing about computers, but I pointed him to some resources, he was very thorough and meticulous, and it booted up THE VERY FIRST TIME he powered it up. I was very impressed! He enjoyed it so much and learned so much and he understands every piece of his computer so much that he said he would never buy a computer again. Eggster, isnt it you that has a toshiba satellite 5200 as well... mine's in getting the drive replaced ATM, but after having that gem, I could *never* go back to desktops. my comp needs to travel, desktops arent practical. yeah I know the cost and upgradability factors, but that doesnt affect me as I upgrade the whole comp regularly through my business lease... Im on our IBM p3 800 desktop right now, and I feel like im back in the dark ages... but i know alot of ppl would love even to have one of these, so Im not takin it for granted, believe me *pines to have his little Toshi 5200 back* mtfbwya

Sivy
good looking rig Pro is quite a bit better apart from being able to use multiple processors, the only differences between home & pro is more network tools like user / access rights etc. if you're not going to be putting it on a network then there's really no point paying extra for pro.
