ET Warrior
I love how it is Rockstars fault that kids can get ahold of games that are rated M when they're underage. Seriously, blame the retailers, sue them if you want to be an ignorant moron. Blegh, I'll bet he never played a video game in his LIFE
manoman81
You know, have the problem are the retailers that sell to underage kids. The other half are the parents that don't even try to pay attention to what they are buying. I know there are parents here at LF that know what they are buying. I c an't stand people that blame every murder on games, music, or media. How about some discipline for your kids? Oh, that's right, you have "time out"... This guy needs to go take a flying leap. Rockstar has said countless time that they make games for older people, not for kids. I WISH PEOPLE WOULD START PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING INSTEAD OF BLAMING THEIR MISTAKES ON OTHERS!!!!!!!! Does anyone have a link about this murder? Darth Groovy
This guy would have better luck trying to make abortion illegal, and prosicute anyone who has had an abortion for murder. I will say what I have been saying for years. I have been watching violent movies and playing violent video games since the late 80's. For me it was always an outlet. It is only human to at some point have a violent thought, or engage in an act of violence, wether provoked or un-provoked. Point I am getting at, is that these feelings have to escape at some point, otherwise it builds up, and boils over until you melt down. Kids' parents have been suing media giants for years, wether it was music, or "Joey listened to the Juadas Priest record and set fire to the living room carpet, or shot himself!", these cases achieve only one thing, to generate more attention. Most of these cases are lost. I for one, find that shootdodging wise guys in Max Payne, is alot better than shooting up your classmates, or the nearest McDonald's. I don't think this guy has a snowball's chance in Hell if you ask me, and i'm not even worried about it. Oh, and GOOD LUCK suing Sony! The company brings in enough money in one year to fund a small country! countries!
legameboy
For crying out loud. It's purely the parents fault. If they don't raise the child correctly with the basic values of right and wrong, and don't punish them when they disobey these values, stuff like this happens in the long run. I've been playing violent videogames since I was eight. I was and am being raised in a good home. I have not even punched someone in my lifetime. In the holy words of Kain... "I hate soccer moms." *sigh*

Samuel Dravis
The person saying this obviously wants to escape his personal responsibility - and help other adults do so - not to allow games that are offensive to him and to others in the hands of their children. It is ENTIRELY the job of parents to know what their kids are playing. It's not exactly hard to go to their room and see what they're doing. I'm sorry, but that guy is just acting in a rediculous and quite silly manner. They should act like the adults they profess to be - they should take responsibility for what their kids watch or play. Alegis
"The fact is that the most objective research has concluded that there is no causal relationship between game action and real-life violence" damn right. the bastard will fail The company released the following statement yesterday: "We would like to extend our sympathies to the Pakeerah family. We reject any suggestion or association between the tragic events and the sale of Manhunt. There is a clear certification structure in place and Manhunt was clearly classified as 18 by the British Board of Film Classification And should not be in the possession of a juvenile. Lightsaberboy
GameDaily: This whole situation in England is certainly unfortunate. From what I have read, the parents of the victim have contacted you? Thompson: The mother did, yeah. We are going to destroy Rockstar, you can count on that. GD: What is the ultimate goal here? Thompson: To destroy Rockstar. GD: How are you going to seek to do that? Thompson: By taking all their money. It's very simple. You wipe someone out economically, they don't have any assets and therefore they cease to exist. he seems very adamant about this. i doubt he'll succeed tho. jebbers
quick question to InsaneSith is that Johnny the homicidal maniac?? back on topic....what about movies? any one hear abuot they boy who slaughtered his best friend after seeing kill bill 8 times in a row.....he went home got a samurai sword and dismembered his friend.....so why not try to ban movies that are rated r as well.....once again like everyone says its the parents faults.... Tyrion
Thompson: They indicated all these things after Columbine too. When they feel 'the coast is clear' again then they will go back to doing what they are doing. They are putting ads for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in comic books again and running ads for Full Spectrum Warrior on wrestling programming here, which is seen predominantly by teens. So, of course pixels beating the hell out of each other is bad, but real humans beating the hell of each other is ok?

Crazy_dog no.3
That guys a jackass. Voilence in games is not going to affect children unless: A- They have a mental problem anyway B- They are under 5 C- They are idiots (could be combination of A and B) I think we should give kids more credit here. They know fantasy from reality. They know guns and weapons kill. That kid who killed the other one was nuts or had some serious personal issues, and if parents complain, they should realise that they shouldn't be buying games rated M, 18, 15, 16+, etc. for their kids, and they are the one to blame. Doomie
Yeah, look at me. I've been palying games since i was four or something (Well, actually my dad played them, while me and my brother watched) and it didn't give me the urge to pick up a rifle and shoot some mutants... People that get influenced by video games don't know where Imagination, be it their own or the Game studio's imagination, ends, and in other words, they are crazy. And a little off topic question, what'd this guy do to get banned? Or is that yer new custom title?
