Kain
Angel was more fantasy than sci-fi...but it still rocked*after they got Spike* I don't like teh sci-fi...cept Terminator.
Spider AL
Oooh Forbidden Planet, gotta be. Most mature, thoughtful sci-fi movie ever made, and perhaps one of the best movies ever made full stop. I don't like Star Trek too much these days, (except the campy 60s series, because it was fricking brilliant on so many levels,) I don't like Babylon 5 because I think it went WELL downhill after the promise of the first season... I don't like Andromeda, Farscape or Lexx because they're cheap and nasty and drag on forever... (I like a clean story arc and a story that ends while it's still good,) Hmm. But I like books the best. I like Dune the best, obviously. Not the sequels, a real letdown. I like very early science-fiction, from people like Conan-Doyle and soforth. Most edifying to see how science was viewed over a century ago.
Crazy_dog no.3
I like the Terminator series (yes, even the 3rd one), the first two Alien movies, The Matrix, Predator and Robocop. I like the X-Files too apart from seasons 4-7, they kind of sucked. Sometimes I watch Star Treck, but not very often.
Samuel Dravis
I don't like too many other scifi movies. I do love scifi books though. David Brin, Greg Bear, Asimov, etc. The problem with the movies is that the interactions between races and different persons is very, very limited, and the focus is on the flashy technology. I prefer the more human (or alien) side of things, but within a scifi universe. I did like I, Robot, but then, they had to base it on one of my favorite authors' books... Spider AL
Yech. I don't like that movie too much. It could have been really good if they hadn't overdone the gore part. As it was, I was just disgusted, not terrified...The suspense wasn't bad either in Event Horizon... but the script was poor. The fictional science wasn't as well defined as I'd have liked, and they blurred the line between biblical and interdimensional in a way that didn't help the story. I feel they should have picked one or the other. And a couple of moments that were supposed to be funny were just... well, I suppose they were mildly funny after all, thinking back. Good cast, Sam Neill hammed it up though.
toms
Originally posted by jon_hill987 and I'm looking forward to the Red Dwarf film. Is that still happening? It was supposed to go into production YEARS ago, and i haven't heard anything since. That isn't a good sign. Did anyone see the pilot US version of Red Dwarf??? God, what a load of rubbish. I can't believe the original creators were involved with that travesty in any way. ----- I liked Event Horizon at the time, though it was nothing too amazing. Shame the director has made nothing but turkeys since though...

toms
looks like they ran into a lot of problems, but it might finally be going into pre-production next year.... but then we have heard that at least twice before. Not sure about the plot summary they give though: RED DWARF THE MOVIE is set in the distant future where Homo Sapienoids, a fearsome combination of flesh and machine, and the next stage of human evolution, have taken over the solar system and almost wiped out the human race. The only survivors are the crews of long-haul space freighters that left Earth before the conflict began. The Sapienoids send forth fleets of Death Ships to hunt them down. One by one - the human ships fall, until only one remains. Its name - Red Dwarf... What does that have to do with red dwarf?
Doomie
Well, apart from Star Wars i like Star Trek... I think the Alien Movies were pretty cool... And HALO!
Prime
Scifi I like: Matrix series (like the first by far the best) Macross saga X-Men series 2001: Space Odyssey Ghost in the Shell Patlabor 1 & 2 Original Star Trek Alien Dune Cowboy BeBop And lots of other stuff as well. I don't tend to watch scifi TV shows too much as I tend to find them really cheesy, both in the look and the acting. TV wise right now I am really into Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. On the comedy side: Red Dwarf Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy Space Balls Futurama
