THE VIGILANTE Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 We already have 2 great KotOR games completed. The question is, how many more should be made? I personally feel that three would be enough since all great movies/games/books are trilogies. What do you guy's think?
Hannibal Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I think if the next one isn't better than the 2nd one then it should be the last. Or at least they should move it to another developer.
Jeff Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 They're such fun games, I'd love to see 5 or 6 games, but if they make that many, it might get too far from the original game. I believe that they say they are only making 3, but I think a fourth could still be a good game. EDIT: If they would just make the games longer. Games like Baldur's Gate are great because you can play them forever since theres so much content. If they could make the next games have more content, then I think 3 or 4 would be enough.
Darth InSidious Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Three/Four on the Revan/Exile theme, followed by a new series on a different theme in the Old Republic - maybe about someone slightly later, or even maybe one about Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun....

MdKnightR Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I have never played an online game before, but from what I keep hearing about them, I think it would be cool to have a KOTOR online game. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't games like Matrix Online and Star Wars Galaxies continual and without an ending? As far as our traditional KOTOR setting, I just want more content. I want a game that will keep me going for a month or more just trying to explore everything. I think that KOTOR 3 would be enough in that case.
Darth InSidious Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 The option of playing co-op over a LAN would be fun.....but only as an option. Not as a necessity, but a fun little distraction....After all, if you don;t want to play it, you don't have to
Bob Lion54 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Originally posted by Prime Keep going as long as they kick ass. I agree!! 10,11, 12........ ok, they probably won't go that far. If they they do, I will not complain. Just look at Final Fantasy.
Emperor Devon Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Originally posted by Prime Keep going as long as they kick ass. Amen. I completely agree.
Venom750 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I say maybe 3 or 4 and then the Franchise could go on like 2000 years later or something lik that or maybe in the new republic time i think it would be better then Jedi Knights series

Venom750 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Knights of the New Republic:rolleyes: Could be...Who knows
Darth InSidious Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Originally posted by Venom750 Knights of the New Republic:rolleyes: Could be...Who knows Yeah, but that just doesn't have the nice acronym....I mean, try saying KotNR, as opposed to KotOR....
Achilles Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Originally posted by Prime Keep going as long as they kick ass. Exactly. There's so much EU stuff to work from (specifically Old Republic) that they could probably make an extended series. If they start to suck, then the publishers should do the honorable thing and commit seppuku.
Rok_stoned Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I personally feel that three would be enough since all great movies/books true, true as you just stated that doesn't include games. that rule doesn't apply to games think about warcraft series they have 5* games each surpassing the last in both quality and longivity but 1 thing they use a different team for the world of warcraft and warcraft three so keeping thing fresh coupled with the knowledge that the most recent one in the series stemed from the great game known as kotor. *star craft was made by the same team as warcraft and in some instances considered more of the next generation of warcraft than warcraft three it self
lukeiamyourdad Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I say make a trilogy out of the Revan/Exile story and move on to another era for another RPG. Except the New Republic. Seriously.
RedHawke Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Originally posted by Prime Keep going as long as they kick ass. I wholeheartedly agree! Also with what Achilles posted as well... there is 4000 years to work with, they could at least get a few sagas under their belts in that amount of time.
THE VIGILANTE Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Which sagas should they come up with? So far we have the Revan/Exile/True Sith saga. I am hoping to see some of the Ulic Qel Droma saga and maybe a saga that shows us Yoda in his early years of training. Between the two I would have to pick Yoda's saga. Anyways, which sagas should they come up with?
Jeff Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Well, I don't think the'll do anything with Ulic Quel-droma or Exar Kun because that would be moving backwards. Generally (though I guess the movies were made more or less backwards in time), they would move forward after the time of Revan.
Smilodon Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Originally posted by lukeiamyourdad Except the New Republic. Seriously. 100% agree. I would like to have as many KOTOR games as possible as long as it fits the current storyline, but I believe it'll end up in trilogy.

Anyways, which sagas should they come up with? Well since they heavily reference the Exar Kun/Qel-Droma era of the Old Republic, I don't think they should target that time span specifically. I also think that fast-forwardling 3000 years and basing the series on Yoda's lifespan would be a huge mistake but that's just me.
montnoir Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Originally posted by Prime Keep going as long as they kick ass. Yes. ...and as a side-note, if I see a Yuuzhan Vong in a video-game I'll commit bloody murder! When Canderus started talking about a living asteroid on the edge of the galaxy, in Kotor 1 I nearly puked.

Anyways, it would be cool to find out about Yoda's species and homeworld...
