How Many KOTOR Games Should There Be?

Recommended Posts

They're such fun games, I'd love to see 5 or 6 games, but if they make that many, it might get too far from the original game. I believe that they say they are only making 3, but I think a fourth could still be a good game.

EDIT: If they would just make the games longer. Games like Baldur's Gate are great because you can play them forever since theres so much content. If they could make the next games have more content, then I think 3 or 4 would be enough.

I have never played an online game before, but from what I keep hearing about them, I think it would be cool to have a KOTOR online game. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't games like Matrix Online and Star Wars Galaxies continual and without an ending?

As far as our traditional KOTOR setting, I just want more content. I want a game that will keep me going for a month or more just trying to explore everything. I think that KOTOR 3 would be enough in that case.

Exactly. There's so much EU stuff to work from (specifically Old Republic) that they could probably make an extended series. If they start to suck, then the publishers should do the honorable thing and commit seppuku.

I personally feel that three would be enough since all great movies/books

true, true as you just stated that doesn't include games. that rule doesn't apply to games think about warcraft series they have 5* games each surpassing the last in both quality and longivity but 1 thing they use a different team for the world of warcraft and warcraft three so keeping thing fresh coupled with the knowledge that the most recent one in the series stemed from the great game known as kotor.

*star craft was made by the same team as warcraft and in some instances considered more of the next generation of warcraft than warcraft three it self

I wholeheartedly agree! :D

Also with what Achilles posted as well... there is 4000 years to work with, they could at least get a few sagas under their belts in that amount of time. ;)

Which sagas should they come up with?

So far we have the Revan/Exile/True Sith saga.

I am hoping to see some of the Ulic Qel Droma saga and maybe a saga that shows us Yoda in his early years of training.

Between the two I would have to pick Yoda's saga.

Anyways, which sagas should they come up with?

Well, I don't think the'll do anything with Ulic Quel-droma or Exar Kun because that would be moving backwards. Generally (though I guess the movies were made more or less backwards in time), they would move forward after the time of Revan.

Well since they heavily reference the Exar Kun/Qel-Droma era of the Old Republic, I don't think they should target that time span specifically. I also think that fast-forwardling 3000 years and basing the series on Yoda's lifespan would be a huge mistake but that's just me.

Yes.

...and as a side-note, if I see a Yuuzhan Vong in a video-game I'll commit bloody murder! When Canderus started talking about a living asteroid on the edge of the galaxy, in Kotor 1 I nearly puked.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Anyways, it would be cool to find out about Yoda's species and homeworld...
