Yahoo IM currently, used to use AIM...

I came from IRC (using mIRC) and had helped establish 3 channels in the undernet. Probably wasted alot of time in RP channels but made tons of friends and contacts to this day I still talk to. Learned to make custom bots with op controllers and other information that's best left unsaid publicly :devsmoke:

And nothing compares learning how to type (and fast) by using IRC :xp:

otherwise, you get lamblasted real fast if you're not quick with the wit and fast on the keyboard ;)

I am thinking about switching to Trillian but I dunno yet...

I wouldn't recommend it, in my opinion Trillian is a horrible bloat taking up loads of memory and resources, with a tendency to crash every now and then. (Granted it was a few years since I last tried it, might have gotten better since...)

I'd recommend trying Miranda if you are looking to switch. I switched to it when I got fed up with Trillian, and haven't looked back. It's fairly small, modular and very configurable. It supports a variety of different messengers and chats in one package. And there are no banners or other adware built into it.

(No, I don't know the maker of Miranda, I just like the program :) )

Thank You! :worship:

I too got fed up using Trillian, but I was missing the ability to use multiple IM progs with one program. I've never heard of Miranda, but now that I know there's another option, I think I'm going to have to make a switch :D

Thanks for the link stoffe! :emodanc:

i use AIM, cause thats what all my friends use. i have some plug-ins installed that remove the ads and other annoying features. i tried using icq and yahoo years and years ago, but couldn't get the hang of it (and i didnt have any friends that use it) so i went back to aim.
