Battlestar Galactica

I hope they don't go the "it's all just in your head" route. That seems like too much of a cop out to me. Especially now that he's run into a real life copy of her on the admiral's ship. There's more of an opportunity to develop the relationship further.

I think the admiral could be a good protagonist for Adama. He doesn't seem like the type to take orders from a woman :) And does the admiral remind anyone else of Tracy Scoggin's character from Babylon 5? That was the first thing I thought of when I saw her.

I'm necro-ing this thread because the past discussion is still pretty relevant to the newer seasons, and since the series is winding down to an end (eventually; stupid WGA strike, stupid hiatus), I thought it would be interesting to reflect on the show as a whole as well as discuss recent individual episodes. Of course, spoiler tags should be used liberally as a courtesy to those who have not seen the latest episodes.

Regarding the last aired episode, "The Hub":

Wooooow, so they blew the Resurrection Hub up. This means that the Cylons must now play in HARDCORE MODE with no more respawns. As far as we know, there is only one Number Three in existence now, and probably less than a handful of Sixes, Twos and Eights, given their rebellion against the Ones, Fours and Fives.

And lolz @ Baltar hitting on the Centurion. He's such a poncy git xD

Live BSG thread, live!

@Rogue Nine: Yeah, I've been watching season four too and I must say this season looks great so far. The effects regarding space battles and centurion appearances have increased, so they must have a pretty big budget for this season and the story leaves you saying "Holy s..." at the end of every episode. Too bad it's said

season four is the last one.

Because some people might be watching an earlier season, so I don't want them to get disappointed because their favorite show is ending, unless they really want to know about it. ;)

And yeah, we'll see what will become of Caprica.

Um...wow. Just...wow...

So, Earth was nuked. Didn't see that coming. Didn't think it wasn't possible, either, but still, didn't think that's what they'd end up doing.

So, if the Final Five are indeed from Earth, and Earth was nuked...

The Cylons were created by man...on Earth. They rebelled, they evolved, etc. Earth got nuked. They left Earth, and found their counterparts from the Colonies, helping them evolve giving them a new idea--to turn on their creators once again and take back the Colonies.

Just an idea. :)

Wasn't surprised by the end, saw it coming.....especially considering how desperate they've been to find Earth.

Going hand in hand with the Cylons, so to speak, I figured the planet would be "dead". Notice how there were no satellites? No challenging air forces or communication? Only other possibility would be that they showed up and the planet was still populated by primitive/non space-faring humanity

Yes, last night was very dissappointing... I wasn't into BSG very much, not until I saw the e[pisode where four of the final five were revealed. Then I started watching every episode up to yesterday's. It's a good show, but way to dramatic... I can't stand Baltair and Adama... I prefer SGA.

Stargate Atlantis new season premeir June 11th, finally...

I've watched Firefly, but it was... A little cheesy and dramatic for my tastes. Were there ever any exciting space battles or not?

I expected Earth to either be destroyed and unpopulated, or populated with the Final Five models, so the state of the planet wasn't a big surprise. What I didn't expect, however, was that they'd find Earth before the series finale. The episode was still really good. The new music themes were excellent and really added up to the suspense. The only thing I find disappointing is that Caprica-Six seems to have been forgotten, having very little appearance during the season and no appearance at all in this episode.

Now I have to wait 'till 2009 to find out what happens next. Damn Writer's Strike. :(

Ah, that's the part that didn't surprise me. :p

Indeed.

Well, all in all, I say it was a good episode. I liked last season's finale better, and these flash-forwards kind of annoy me. This one wasn't nearly as bad as Season 2's full year, but it still really hurts the pace of the episode.

You know, something just occurred to me, I'm probably wrong, but it's an interesting theory at least - what if the planet the fleet arrived to isn't Earth? You might have noticed that when Earth was shown at the end of the season three finale, they made one of the continents visible (North America, what a surprise :p ) to make it clear that it's Earth. In this mid-season finale, if you remember the scenes of Earth, you might have noticed that there are no visual attributes, so to speak, that tell us it's Earth. We see a blue planet with fluffy white clouds (as Starbuck described it in the season premiere), but we don't see any of Earth's continents and the destroyed city doesn't resemble any major European, Asian, or American city that I know of. Add to that the Razor-Hybrid's prophecy that Starbuck will lead them all to their ends and the fact that her brand new Viper received the signal that lead them there and you might find it all a bit suspicious.

So, anyone have anything interesting to say about this theory?

Well, when they got to what I think is Earth, they said that the constellations were a match, meaning that it was the correct position for Earth to be at. And what do you mean by sayign that the ruisn don't look liek any civilization? The looked like simple architecture from stone buildings, such as the US capital building, or other places.

But you couldn't make out which city it was, could you? ;) I was personally reminded of ancient Greek architecture, when it comes to ruins on that part of land where the characters were, but as for the ruined city on the other part of land and the destroyed bridge, it could have been any Earth city for all I know, or it could have been a ruin on a completely different planet.

She was on Earth, walking up behind Saul Tigh to touch his arm.

Pretty durn good episode. The scenes with the Final Four Cylons were especially tense, especially with the standoff between Three and Lee Adama. And wow, how I hate Tory.

Anyway time for some ridiculous speculation!

Kara's Viper is the final Cylon! It makes sense! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW YES YES YES.

Man, it would be awesome if they did a spinoff show with Starbuck and her sentient Viper, traveling the galaxy and solving problems wherever they go. Kinda like Knight Rider in space.

Time to hunker down until 2009. ;_;
