Darth333
In Montréal, Québec too...but not per gallon but per liter: it was $1.04 last weekend and now it's like $1.50 per litre. And last year at that time it was around $0.70 if I recall well. Edit: 1 US gallon = 3.785 liters

Bob Lion54
..... but here in wisconsin gas prices have increased by 50 cents in the last 2 day so much so that our atturney general has order and investigation in the matter..... Hum? I wonder where your Attorney General has been keeping his head latley.... Anyway, I live about 2 hours west of New Orleans. Gas is just under $3 a gallon. Not as high as some places, but its not done rising. Hopefully, the oil reserves will help a bit, but its not going to help much. Being so close to Texas helps too. Yes, I know hes talking about gouging. I just got a kick out of the "out of context" wording of your post. I donno, I think I need to go to bed........ Im a bit "loopy" at the moment. But it sure is fun!
ChAiNz.2da
$3.49 (gallon) for Regular Unleaded here... Premium users get a lovely $3.69 price tag. Considering all of the stations around here are out of Regular... you're either paying $3.59+ or staying home Gotta love price gouging [/sarcasm]

Darth333
I just made the conversion to gallons and USD and it gives $4.77 USD per gallon for unleaded regular... Now, if you intend to buy an airline ticket, hurry up before they raise all their prices... fuel is the major expense for airlines...

Bob Lion54
Yea, and many of the airlines are still trying to recover from 9/11. Airline tickets are going to soar. Many of them might have to close down permanently.
90SK
The hurricane really did a number on the oilrigs that were in her wake. I heard one of them is actually floating freely. This most likely attributes to the sudden rise of prices (though this is all third-hand info). It must take a long time to clean up that kind of mess. Prices won't be going down for a while... EDIT: There. More on-topic.

lukeskywalker1
Yeah, this time last week gas was $2.50 for regular. Now its $2.99. The good stuff is like $3.20 (not as bad as some places) but still, high. And to think, we were complaining when it was $1.99, lol. EDIT: just remembered, I go by like 5 gas stations everyday. And everyday for the past 3 days its gone up around 10 cents a day.
EmptyWords
here last time i remeber the price was 2.99 for leaded i think and that was about a week ago or something like that. in Poland the prices are unbelivable, 1 liter of the worst type of fuel is about 1,25 minimum. so a gallon is almost 5 bucks, thats gotta suck, my uncle alone spends about 200 dollars a week on fuel, and he uses diesel which is a little cheaper than the regular gasoline, but its still a hell of a lot of money
Achilles
Gas is going for about $2.96 a gallon here. That's up about $0.50 from last week's prices. Good thing Bush recently signed his energy bill so that the US industry can start seriously investigating cheaper, renewable energy sources. Oh wait... lukeskywalker1
It really makes you wonder what will happen when the gas really does start to run out. They need to really start researching and upgrading technology right now! A lot of our world requires oil to run, from our cars to our electric companies! Aash Li
3.39 in some places around here. Though the price will drop again like it always does after the holiday (monday). The greedy-ass gas companies have to rob us first though.
stingerhs
well, down here you have to actually find a gas station that has gas before you can worry about the price. so far, there's a grand total of three gas stations in my general vicinity that has gas (and that includes both the areas around my house as well as my school), and its going anywhere from $2.99/gal to $3.89/gal. for once, i wish i had one of those dinky hybrid cars instead of my V6 pickup. The greedy-ass gas companies have to rob us first though. Well, if the government would cut out the excise tax it wouldn't be as bad, because that adds like 75 cents onto the price :-\ Blame the government, because right now our gas *could* be like $2.00 instead of $3.00 (no, before anyone says anything, its not Bush's fault, its always been like this)
El Sitherino
Being so close to Texas helps too. Won't for long, especially since we haven't been a major resource state for well over a decade. Our prices are on the rise, and they're rising fast. You're gonna feel a hit soon. Yea, and many of the airlines are still trying to recover from 9/11. Airline tickets are going to soar. Many of them might have to close down permanently. Airlines recovered from 9/11 in January 2002. What it is now is homeland security BS. Which as you can see from the Katrina stuff, is nothing more than hot air. The hurricane really did a number on the oilrigs that were in her wake. I heard one of them is actually floating freely. This most likely attributes to the sudden rise of prices (though this is all third-hand info). It must take a long time to clean up that kind of mess. Prices won't be going down for a while... This has nothing to do with the Hurricane knocking out off shore drills. This is that we're adding more oil to the reserve.
Rogue15
i can't wait til we're completely OUT of gas. one thing though, minimum wage better increase.....
MdKnightR
The day of the "gas panic" there were some stations in Atlanta that were charging between $5 and $6 per gallon! Gov. Perdue went on the news and issued a warning to these stations that they were under the microscope in the governor's office. Gas where I am is now at $3.25 per gallon if you can find any. Most stations around here ran out the day after the hurricane hit. Luckily, I only live a few miles from work and had a half tank in my truck. If it gets much worse, I will be dusting off and airing up the ol' bicycle. In times like these, I wish I had a motorcycle.
MdKnightR
i can't wait til we're completely OUT of gas. one thing though, minimum wage better increase..... Actually, I hope it doesn't! Inflation is directly tied, at least in part, to increases in minimum wage. I believe it was the last time minimum wage went up, prices in restaurants went up far more than the percentage of increase in minimum wage. Price gouging is everywhere! TheOssusKeeper
Gas prices keep going up here also... It’s weird, I can remember when gas was like .75 cents and .85 cents a gallon and now looking back at those prices and seeing the prices for gas now, it's outrageous. It makes you wonder, what happened to the good 'ol days. Conspiracy theory: What if they are raising gas prices to force people into buying these hybrid cars? There’s enough oil in this world that they don’t have to charge an arm and a leg for gas. They are just greedy people trying to get richer, and screw the middle and lower class citizens. My dad is always saying the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. There seems to be some truth in that… just a thought though…. lukeskywalker1
Yup, like I said, 10 cents a day. Regular was $2.99 yesterday, today its $3.09.
Aash Li
Well were not the only ones in the world that use gas... All of europe and asia combined uses more gas than we do. They dont all use cars in asia, but they have power plants and other things that use oil. Im sure that well end up having some sort of replacement engine when oil finally does run out for the entire world.
