JediKnight707 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Just wondering what your guys' favorite type of movie is (I like comdey)!!!
ET Warrior Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 ...Science Fiction should be on that list...and musical....and romance... I dont have a favorite, it really depends on my mood...
JediKnight707 Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 I knew I was forgetting some, but I couldn't remember, and I think that musical and romance are all dramas
ET Warrior Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Hardly, musicals and romance movies are not always drama, and drama does not always incorporate musicals or romance. Example - Rainman would be considered a dramatical movie, or something like the Green Mile perhaps. Yet neither one is romantic or musical
Jeff Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I don't have a favorite, it all just depends on the movie and what I feel like watching.

Aren't musicals dramatic as well? I've never heard of, say an action musical/love story, but everybody has their own opinoins
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Drama is conflict, so you can have a musical or romance without conflict. "action musical/love story" The MATRIX PWNS:D although movies like the princess bride would fit that better, but then again it's comedy also, but I don't know, WHY DO WE EVEN CARE ABOUT GENRES!!! just make epic movies that have everything...

Good choice, although I think you said that because it was fresh on your mind after reading a post that I wrote recently about it being a rewrite of Romeo and Juliet. As far as favorites go, I tend toward Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Superhero movies.
stingerhs Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 well, call me crazy, but i don't particularly care much about the genre as long as its a "good'n". but, i do lean a bit towards the sci-fi and action side just a tad.
Bob Lion54 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Depends on my mood. I like Action movies that have a good dose of humor. i.e. Leathal Weapon series, Pirates of the Caribbean, ect.. I'm also a hugh Sci-Fi fan. Movies like the Star Wars movies, The Fith Element, ext.... Its kind of hard to lable some movies, though. I called Pirates of the Caribbean action, but I could see if some people called it Sci-Fi or more probably Fantasy. The best movies don't try to stay within one genre. If its a good movie, I don't care what its classified as.

Where might this post be found? And I was under the impression everyone knew it was a re-write of Romeo and Juliet.
Hallucination Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I like a lotta movies, depending on my mood, but usually a comedy is what I feel like so thats what I put . Who voted "Whats a movie?"
MdKnightR Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Insane Sith said: Where might this post be found? And I was under the impression everyone knew it was a re-write of Romeo and Juliet. It was here . It was when Aash Li and I were discussing rewriting fairy tales.

90SK Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 I'm a big fan of explosive action-thrillers like Die Hard, or Sin City. Of course, there are exceptions. Casino Royale, for example. That doesn't really fit into any category... >_>
Vladimir-Vlada Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Depends on my mood as well. But mostly Comedy (I am a sucker for jokes). Action, Sci-Fi, Fantasy (did anyone forget LOTR?), Drama (Forrest Gump was the best). Acctuely, I like all kinds of films. Except Horror films and XXX films (Horror films don't let me sleep and the other group disgusts me). P.S. Yay! I got last post!

RaV™ Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Action movies are the best in my opinion, 2nd would be Comedy, then 3rd would be Scifi.
lukeiamyourdad Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 montnoir said: 'tis an acquired taste. Softcore is actually no where near disgusting. Some of them are pretty classy and enjoyable to watch. And in case people wonder, I am over 18. I don't have a favorite genre. I like all kinds of movies I guess. Except romantic comedies because most of them involves the two main characters falling in love in an atrociously predictable manner.
Vladimir-Vlada Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Quote Softcore is actually no where near disgusting. Some of them are pretty classy and enjoyable to watch. And in case people wonder, I am over 18. True. But I tend to avoid them because it sometimes insults women. And the last thing I want to do is insult a woman.
