Astrotoy7 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Got yours ? I picked mine up today. Here in australia they have been releasing the prequels with "limited edition" versions which mean they have an extra(and quite pretty) cardboard slip/case to fit into. They only cost $3 more.. ROTS does indeed look and sound awesome on DVD. Cant wait to watch it on a friends huge TV later this week, with his THX rig The deleted scenes are, IMO, great. Theyre not just 'filler' stuff that was mainly what the previous deleted scenes were. The whole Rebel Senators stuff was awesome, and wouldve been great to see in the film.... Yoda landing on dagobah is short of course, but there is a real PT nostalgia to it. Grievous killing Shaak Ti, definitely wouldve set up GG more strongly. Anakin and Obis reaction to this are great... as is their cool sign language sequence Ive already done an mpeg2 conversion of the dvd files... just gotta do the deleted scenes ones and try and fit them in just to see how they look *reinstalls adobe premiere* Rick Macallum said something sorta interesting about him hoping the Yoda exile scene be put back in ... "when George is tinkering with the revised editions" is there going to be revised editions ?? who knows I think 2007 is the big year if any such thing was going to happen, being the 30 year anniversary. It would be nice to think that we could look forward to some extra tidbits and not just the current discs repackaged. I personally would really love to see some Alderaan in Ep4, but no biggie either way... The special features disc is overall pretty cool. Im still figuring out how to get to the easter eggs *googles* another thing I noticed.... In the "The Chosen One" docu hayden was refering to Yoda's "fear leads to anger" speech from TPM, which was done with the younger looking puppet yoda... however, in this docu it seems to have been redone with a CG yoda... I wonder why ? mtfbwya

Astrotoy7 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 The Yoda raps easter egg can be accessed on disc 1... >go to language selection >select the THX logo (on the wall) >press 1138 on your dvd remote apparently the "digital yoda' ive mentioned above is another easter egg When I was looking through the different files on disc 1, there is a short video file of artoo deeto being thrown out of the water in dagobah(similar to ESB), though he gets thrown directly at the camera... im not sure what its for...might be one of the THX config setup files... I dunno mtfbwya

Anakin and Obis reaction to this are great... as is their cool sign language sequence I agree that the senator scenes should be added back. It plays out well in the novel and it would give Padme something else to do besides cry. And the sign language stuff reminded me of baseball signals or something. I think Kenobi was going to throw a fastball.
Astrotoy7 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 down her in Oz though, there is no Battlefront2 demo or Empire at War Trailer on the sf disc.... not that it bothers me much tho mtfbwya
Jeff Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I got it yesterday at Wal-Mart so I got the 'story of star wars' bonus dvd with it. I watched the movie and the deleted scenes. I'll probably watch it again today
MdKnightR Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I noticed this too... all I can say is get ready for the Saga boxset. That is what I am holding out for! I don't own any Star Wars on DVD yet.
El Sitherino Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Have fun waiting until 2007. I know I sure as hell couldn't do it.
Bastila Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I got mine on monday and am happy with it, also if you brought it from woolworths (uk shop) you get a talking yoda for £10 so i have a talking Yoda know and it goes off on its own which is a bit scary lol.
Hannibal Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Is that where Woolworth's moved to the UK? I was wondering what happened to them. Do you guys have Montgomery Wards also? They aren't around here anymore either. Man, I haven't heard about Woolworths in a long time.
El Sitherino Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 It must have been what they wanted in return for their crappy reality shows... we got shafted so bad. ;_;
stingerhs Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 woohoo!! i got the last copy @ the local Target!!! i feel special now.
spinkle Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 stinger, i heard it's $16 at target? can you confirm that?
stingerhs Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 yep. otherwise, i would have made the trip to Walmart or Best Buy. hey, you go where the deals are.
spinkle Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 i have a friend who works at a target, so i've got me a raincheck coming for when i have money...
RedHawke Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Got mine at Wal-Mart at midnight on the 1st, seen it twice!
JediKnight707 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 woohoo!! i got the last copy @ the local Target!!! i feel special now. I got the last copy at the store I got mine too Anyway, while watching it I noticed an easter egg I hadn't before: After Anakin kills Dooku, Palpatine says "Well, thats not the first time this has happened. Remember the sand-people?" You then can here the sand-people's call in the backround

Remember the sand-people?" You then can here the sand-people's call in the backround I caught that the first time I saw it. Nice touch! @ Insane Sith - I don't mind waiting until 2007 for it. Heck, I've already waited 6 years for Episode 1 (I cite this one since it was the 1st to be on DVD), so what is another 2 years? If I want to watch them I have a buddy who has all of them anyway.
JediKnight707 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I caught that the first time I saw it. Nice touch! Thank you
Aurora Merlow Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Got it today and just watched it, had forgotten how full on it was when all the Jedi get wiped out. The deleted scenes like the senators meeting so should have been left in cause it sets up the whole rebellion, and Yoda arriving on Dagobah should have as well. 2007 is a long time to wait Md
Char Ell Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Bought my copy on Tuesday Nov. 1 at Fry's Electronics. It had a US$19.99 price tag but Fry's takes another US$5 off the price on the first day of a new release so I ended up paying US$14.99 + tax. Great deal! I liked the deleted scenes too but I thought they were going to have one of Yoda conversing with the spirit of Qui Gon Jinn. Anybody know anything about that or is this something I remembered incorrectly?
Jeff Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I'm probably gonna have a party this weekend or next weekend with some friends and watch episodes 1-6. I've watched RotS twice already XD
Bastila Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Is that where Woolworth's moved to the UK? I was wondering what happened to them. Do you guys have Montgomery Wards also? They aren't around here anymore either. Man, I haven't heard about Woolworths in a long time. No we don't have Montgomery over hear.
Bob Lion54 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Got mine Tuesday!!! Yay! The circle is now complete. hehe Or is it? hehe In the final scene when Obi-wan hands Luke over to Beru and they show a closeup of Luke, I really wish they would have played the Star Wars theme like when we first see Luke in ANH gazing over the dunes of Tatooine. The soft French horns is what I'm talking about. (At least I think they are French horns.) I know its minor, but it would have added so much meaning to the end of the movie.
